Envy
Has anyone painted the pieces then put them together? Just a thought I had
Mako
I've been doing that with one of the illuminated, since I wouldn't be able to get in to all the bits if I assembled it first. I try not to as it often means filling and retouching gaps on areas you've painted, but sometimes it's the only way. Generally, I assemble things as much as I can before paint though. LupusFerreus
I might try it with Chiaki and her flames, as that probably won't have many issues. Unless of course you want flame effects on her skirt.
Envy
I'm toying with the idea myself, because some of the models (Soul Porter) look like they will be a pain in the butt to paint once they are assembled.
Tokaji
Just to speak to those people who referenced the models. With Chiaki, you can stick her into the flame base part without gluing, it's very snug, for base coating and then separate for painting. For the Soul Porter, I didn't have any problems, but I did keep the lanterns off of the pole until I had them painted, and it made life much easier.
