Rathnard
NOTE: This thread is repeated on WargamerAU, here. Santana Claws - A Brisbane Malifaux Tournament! Where: Blind Pig Gaming Club, Finnish Hall, 62 Newnham Road, Mount Gravatt, Brisbane When: Saturday 17th November 9:30 -> Sign In 9:45 - 11:45 -> Game 1 11:45-12:15 -> Lunch & Painting Judging! 12:15-2:15 -> Game 2 2:15 - 4:15 -> Game 3 What: The event format will be taken from the "Gaining Ground" Tournament rules provided by Wyrd (link is here). Specfically; - 3 Games over the day. - Single Master, Limited Faction pool, as per Gaining Grounds (above). In other words, , 30SS lists for each game chosen from a 50SS pool. - Strategies will be faction-specific, selected before the event (see below). Schemes will be one-use only. - NEW RULE: For this event only, I'm going to trial a new rule for games - Victory Points for each game will be capped at 7 VPs. This is an experiement of mine, to encourage the use of unannounced schemes and other such trickiness. Scoring - Overall winner will be determined using the "Disparity" Format. Details are in the Gaining Grounds link, above, but basically players get their difference in VPs each round (so in a 7-2 game the winner gets 5 points and the loser gets -5 points), with the highest total overall winning the event. Awards/Prizes - Best Overall (highest score) - Best Painted Crew (As judged by me and/or someone better at painting than me) - Best in Faction (One for each of the five factions) - Door Prize! For a randomly drawn entrant. The prize for Best Overall will be the limited edition Santana model. This is an alternate Santiago model and currently only available to Henchmen who helped out during Gencon or the Dead Heat League. Unless you've got a few hundered dollars spare you wont see many other opportunities to get this model, so it should be hotly contested! Phoenix Forge games has also kindly agreed to help provide prizes! Cost $10. This will cover your entry for the Blind Pig, with anything extra going straight toward prizes. I NEED TO KNOW NUMBERS 1 WEEK IN ADVANCE! So please let me know on this thread if you're coming. Also payment in advance is appreciated - either in person (at the next Blind Pig or on Wednesdays @ Ace Comics, Annerley) or via direct deposit (PM me for details). ------------------------------------ STRATEGIES The strategy for your crew each game will be pre-determined each game, as per below. Note this means that unless you're playing against the same faction as yours, Ten Thunders crews will count as their "other" faction for the purpose of which strategy list they're using (eg. Mei Feng will count as an Arcanist) In the case of Misaki, her crew will count as Outcasts. RULE CHANGE: For the purpose of this event, the following alteration will be made to the Treasure Hunt Strategy: The Treasure Counter may not be picked up in the first turn. This is to prevent certain crews from easily claiming their counter too easily, in some cases before the opponent even has a chance to activate their first model. GUILD - Kill Subversive forces are gaining too much power in Malifaux. We must destroy them all! Game 1: Escape and Survive The locals have gotten angry. Time to retreat and regroup for a new plan of attack. Game 2: Line in the Sand The plan has been drawn, but it's only fair that we give warning and draw a line in the sand for our foes. Let it be known that the Guild are not unjust in their demands! Game 3: Slaughter The warnings have been ignored. It's time to execute our grand plan. Operation: Kill Everything! RESURRECTIONISTS - Poison We must acquire more corpses, and the most efficient way to do that is to poison the town! Game 1: Treasure Hunt The stash of poison has been located, we now just need to secure it... Game 2: Destroy Evidence Uh oh, your careless minions have left incriminating evidence of your devious plans all over Game 3: Supply Wagon The poison is ready! All you need to do now is dump a massive load of it into the town water supply!! ARCANISTS - Heist The Honey Pot Casino has grown a little too rich. It's time we relieved them of some of their fortune! Game 1: Distract The authorities cannot know our plans. See to it that they don't! Game 2: Claim Jump A back entrance to the casino has been located - you must ensure it's secure for the heist Game 3: Plant Evidence What's the perfect crime without somebody to pin the blame on? You must ensure the evidence trail leads to someone else... Neverborn - Intruders Like a cancer, humanity is spreading through our realm. It's time we reclaimed Malifaux for it's true denzins! Game 1: Claim Jump We have determined a position from which we'll begin the cleansing. Ensure it is free of our enemies. Game 2: Turf War The time has come to push the humans from our lands! Game 3: Contain Power Our hard-earned progress may still be lost if our foes mount a counter attack. And the best way to prevent that is to cut off the leadership! Outcasts - Treasure Wee! We're going on a Treasure Hunt! Game 1: Destroy the evidence You've found a treasure map (yay!). But make sure you destroy the clues so you can keep the treasure for yourself! Game 2: Distract You've been followed while treasure hunting! Make sure they don't know where you're going. Game 3: Treasure Hunt You found the Treasure! Now to claim it all for yourself! ------------------------------------- People who are hoping to come; 1. ThatTye Guy 2. Troy Forster 3. Troy Forster's mate 4. Troy Forster's mate 5. Erryll Flynn 6.
