Dark Debts basing ideas?

Hey all. I'm looking for ideas on a theme for basing my 10t Neverborn minis once I get them. I've been looking around and haven't found anything that really matches their theme.

I was thinking maybe casino floor but didn't find anything close to that. Anyone got any ideas? Resin bases, inserts, homemade.. Whatever. Any idea is a possible idea.

Hi Mazin,

I'm glad you posted this question as it was something I was thinking about myself. I think a marble floor with black checkers might be a neat idea.

I would take a standard base, fill it to the lip with greenstuff, smooth it out, and sculpt tiles (I would do diamonds), and then, using a little bit of olive oil (I know this sounds weird :)) brush the base as the putty cures to keep your sculpted lines nice and crisp. Perhaps you could then paint every other diamond black like obsidian and then the others a bone color with various green/red/black stone veins, and ultimately watering down gloss varnish and applying it to create a sheen.

I'm going to give this a try and see if it works once my stuff gets here in September (I live in Taiwan, so I have to ship everything to the states and wait for a family member to go back for business and pick it up along the way), so I can hopefully post some pictures then.

Anyway, my two cents. Good luck with your project! Can't wait to see what others suggest.

what about a combination of cobblestones and wooden tiles ?

You could for example just take the wyrdbase inserts leave the boardwalk as it is (maybe cutting of the vegetation) and glue wooden flooring onto the lower part. Maybe even some carpet made from gluesoaked fabric on top of it all

I was thinking of doing the casino style bases. But then i got to thinking of changing the theme so more underground/black market-type gambling and then was looking more for dungeon/cellar/basement base.

here is a site that I found that I really like.

Also, the Victorian streets by Wyrd also would work too, for the back alley type.
