charge with a range weapon?

Ok, in my head somewhere I don't think this will work but I'd love to be wrong so go ahead and make my day. :-) Lets use Kaeris as our example cause she gets talked about alot poor girl.

I want a good damage flip with my ignite (which has gunfighter) so I charge and use ignite with gunfighter as my melee weapon giving me that all important charge plus flip. Is that possible or is that against the nature of what gunfighter is meant to do exactly?

Gunfighter lets you make melee strikes with your ranged weapon so I'd think using it in a Charge would be fine.

You got it all good, gunfighter means to use the ranged weapon (Ignite in this case) as a melee weapon which has 2" range. Gunfighters can charge normally and attack with all the benefits of a charge.

But now you would be locked in melee and all attacks following would be melee attacks until you have cleared yourself of being in other models' melee. Not really worth doing nine times out of ten. Also that means 2 ap for one attack with postive and probably closer to enemy. If you want the postive a focused strike will give you that and a postive to your attack.
