0 Sarsnick
The abilities state they afftect non-neverborn models but say nothing about them being friendly or not. So in neverborn vs neverborn matches (assuming all neverborn models) these abilities would have have no affect, correct? Correct. They will not affect any Neverborn, enemy or friendly-wise. On the other hand, you have to watch out that these abilities will affect other models you might have hired, in some way, into your crew. Any Neverborn can take one of the new Effigies for no increase to hiring cost. If an Arcane Effigy (who is from the Arcanist faction) is near Lelu at the end of closing phase AND is the only one around, he will take 2 Wounds. There is no "may" clause on Throughts Twisted so Lelu needs to do that damage even if it is your own. Now if you had the choice between a friendly Arcane Effigy and an unfriendly Arcane Effigy, you can select the unfriendly one since Throughts is just looking for one non-Neverborn target. Black Blood does not have the "may" clause either so if the Arcane is near Lelu when Lelu's receives damage the Arcane will take the splash damage. 0 abraxus04
Thanks for the answer! I had never thought about that ability taking affect on your own crew that way. Good to keep in mind! Thanks again
0 cain
There is no "may" clause on Throughts Twisted so Lelu needs to do that damage even if it is your own. Not really. Its says target. Means choose a target. So if you dont want to damage your own stuff, dont target them.
0 Sarsnick
Not really. Its says target. Means choose a target. So if you dont want to damage your own stuff, dont target them. I need to get a clarification because I understood that if a rule needs a target, you have to give it a target. Got a RM page on where you are given the option to not use an effect that needs a target with no may clauses?
0 abraxus04
I was checking my mini-rule book (thanks wyrd and adepticon!) and on page 12 it says that abilities are always active and applied whenever called for, so I would tend to agree with Sarsnick on this one. 0 notmikehill
I don't believe Black Blood has a target. It just affects all non neverborn models within an inch. I don't believe targets are declared there.

0 abraxus04
Correct about the Black Blood but the target part of the discussion was about Lelu and Twisted Thoughts. Sarsnick lays out a pretty good scenario in his original response. Essentially if there is a non-neverborn model within 2 in of him you have to target the model per Twisted Thoughts even if it is one of your own (ie. merc or effigy).
