papasmrf667
Man I would love to play some Pokemon. Makes me long for that nostalgic Pokemon atmosphere. Too bad I don't have a DS, how much do they cost now anyways. The last time I played Pokemon is was on an ugly turquoise gameboy color. Can't you get a fire pig in Black and White? Jormi_Boced
Yes you can get a fire pig in black in white you can get a DS light for like 129 I think, the new 3ds is 249. Gamestop can probably hook you up with a used system for a decent price.
EricJ
I have it, just haven't had time to get playing yet. I figure that won't really happen until after Gencon sadly...too much to do around here!

papasmrf667
DS lite go on sale june 5th for 100$. I might be tempted to buy one, a guy I work with already has white so I will most likely get black. Is anything different Jormi? The last color I played was crystal so its been a few years. Jormi_Boced
Overall they are pretty similar, but new online things and new pokemon and such.
AvatarForm
As much as I enjoyed Pokemon when I was in school, these days they are simply a rinse and repeat of previous editions. If you wanted that you may as well play WoW, at least this way you are in an MMO and interacting with others slightly more socially.
Jormi_Boced
Yeah, but you can't play WoW when you are standing in line at the bank.
FoeRender
when talking to my son about it , i feel if you been playing the series and want to collect all the pokemon , i can see the appeal . But if your new and dont have most of them i dont see the point , there are so many way better games for the ds .
Drolsinga
I've been playing the series since I was 9, and now that I'm competitive, I can't help but buy the game. Black/White are particularly good, and the Pokemon are improved, in terms of art, since the last Generation. The way children play, I don't blame you for not finding it interesting - unless your son is like, my age. lol

Griffsnog
My GF and I have been playing it. She got black and I got white. We Ostly are playing it for nostalgia. I don't like alot of the new pokemon and as such my team is unbalanced right now.'psychic pokemon being the worst but it's fun.
