I like the mobility/cost which is nice with ramos, and I think if it gets killed it drops 3 scrap tokens which is additional benefit. So basically it moves up and starts to be threatening to your opponent and is designed to activate first in a turn to get the boosts on attack. IF you opponent run in and kills it, ramos can activate and summon a spider then blow it up hopefully dealing damage to a couple models who ganged up to kill it. I'm sure it was purposely put on a large base for the added scrap token for hoffman spells. its the cheapest non-totem scrap per point model i can think of.
