Mister Monkey
Yeah, while I like the game, some of the tournament play leaves a lot to be desired.
edonil
Yeah, it seems to have really played into a few specific areas, which hasn't encouraged me to invest much more in it than I have.
Mister Monkey
I just want the movie stuff, more for my love of Star Wars then anything else......
edonil
Aye, collecting is a good enough reason without doubt.
Mister Monkey
Am debating if I want to collect all the old West End RPG stuff for the same reason.....
edonil
Don't you have most of it already?
Mister Monkey
I have a lot of the core books..... but there is a fair bit more.
edonil
Ah, fair enough. Took the old ToR approach to supplements?
Mister Monkey
ToR..... which ToR is that?
edonil
er. Tor, of DnD before WOTC. For some reason my brain insisted that was an acronym it wasn't...
Mister Monkey
Oh TSR...... Yeah they released a load of adventure modules in similar fashion to them.

edonil
I don't know too much about them except that they collapsed in a tragic way, honestly.
Mister Monkey
A lot of my first games were all TSR..... but I am old.
edonil
(shrug) The systems I've played the most are all out of print enough that getting your hands on a copy of the main rules can be more expensive than buying the 40k rulebooks, lol. I may not be old but I know the feeling.
Mister Monkey
Yeah it is funny, some games seem to get a legend status and the prices shoot up..... while others you can get still cheap. Star Wars is still fairly cheap, but postage will be the big bit for me.
edonil
Yeah, I find that with collecting old book series. It's not too hard to find the book for a screaming deal, and then the postage ratchets the price up like crazy, lol. I just ordered a handful of hardcovers, two of them with a list price of one cent and a shipping of four dollars. Not going to complain at all, but it still made me chuckle. Mister Monkey
Yeah been a few times I had been looking at postage twice the price of the item I want.

Mister Monkey
Nope...... but you learn to live with it, and shop around.
edonil
Yeah, I bet that you would. I still do that, honestly, although I'm usually hitting the price of the product not the shipping.
