edonil
Actually, I might do Retribution. Do a Dawnguard caster, using the Knight/Warcaster loadout. I think I've got a Scyir model still kicking around. Man, there's way too many options for this thing, lol.
edonil
A Thamarite warcaster would be awesome cause you could be from anywhere. It would certainly be interesting. Although to get proper use out of it, you'd need to add in some more modifiable rules for Thrall creations.
Mister Monkey
I thought you said there was no rules for Ret
edonil
there's not, but there are the generic Warcaster rules. dunno. Llael would make the most sense, since I want to build them for the game proper anyway, lol.
Mister Monkey
Well yeah there is that..... you were going to do it anyway.....
edonil
Alright, hell with it. Arcane Tempest Warcaster, with Trenchers to start things off. Now, what kind of light warjack to add... Hunter, Sentinel, or Charger...
Mister Monkey
Charger is a nice piece of kit........ hunter can be pretty useful too though.
edonil
How's the Minuteman?
Mister Monkey
Not actually tried one, but heard some fun things about him
edonil
Hm. Well, looking over the rules, I actually think it fits my playstyle pretty well. And in the kinds of games we'd be planning to do, where assassination isn't an option, but objectives are primary, Bounding Leap could be a lot of fun. Plus, I think a Hunter might just be a little mean to throw in if I ever get to be a defender holding an objective, lol. Just sit and Aim with that cannon... Okay. That's a starting point. Trenchers don't give a whole lot of options for converting, but I could have fun building a Trench for them to hide in.
Mister Monkey
I prefer the commando models personally, but they would be mean given what you had planned.....
edonil
I think I'll add them eventually. For now, a maximum unit of Trenchers, a Minuteman and the warcaster comes out to 15 points. Not a bad starting point for an escalation league.
Mister Monkey
Sounds like a good little force.....
edonil
Alternatively, I could drop the Trenchers done to minimum, add a Chain Gun and maybe some rifle grenadiers.
edonil
Why do you think the commandos would be so brutal in this? Cause of the Anatomical Precision?
Mister Monkey
Or two chain guns!
edonil
...I think a pair of chain guns, a minuteman and an arcane tempest gun mage would actually end up becoming even worse if I wanted to avoid the gunline, lol.
Mister Monkey
Yeah instakill one wound models, plus a Mat of 7 ...... will make short work of opposing infantry
edonil
...oof. Yeah, that would be extremely brutal, lol.
edonil
Only thing worse would be doing Protectorate with Daughters of the Flame and a Vanquisher, lol.

SteamHammer
Thankfully the weekend is now in sight. Yesterday was just too busy at work. Was it your TtB campaign?
edonil
Sadly no... it was thoughts on a Mordheim style Warmachine campaign, using the Iron Kingdom RPG rules to create custom leaders for the game.
