Mako
Yup, just me holding up the nerd flag! Which isn't much fun. How's the day going?
edonil
Grabbed two hours of sleep. Staying up until nine, then going back to bed. (yawn) Been a week.
Mako
Just til 9? Nice early night then! Any plans for the weekend? Other than the tourney, I mean. And did you decide to randomly pick faction in the end?
edonil
Yeah, I'm gonna flip a card, lol. No other plans, got a paper due for Theology Survey on Monday, but the tourney is the only plan I've got. And yeah, just till 9, lol. In the past 24 hours, I've slept 2, and I got 4 hours of sleep before that, so it'll work itself out I hope.
Mako
Ah. That's not a lot of sleep! Seems wise to get some then! I like the flip for faction idea, it has a lot of potential for hilarity. Which is the whole purpose of life as far as I can tell. Well, that and cookies. *grin*
Mister Monkey
Just back from dropping off models at the tournament, do I feel like I am missing something by not playing ..... not really
edonil
Eh. Honestly, the Arcanists are the smarter choice. More Constructs, wider variety of stuff. But, I've got the Archers and the TT Brothers, meaning I could make the attempt at running them as TT Pure. Yeah, been a while since I had fun at a 40k tourney. Mako
Heh, I played one game of 40k. And it was the most pointless supposed 'intro' game ever. I didn't have a clue what was going on at the end of the game, because the guy wouldn't tell me what my options were or how to do things while we were playing! Once I came over to the dark side, I had a lot more fun.
Mister Monkey
How many points is the tournament? Tournament was the three GW core games, some flames of war and warmachine the only other event (which was the one I considered joining up to) was blood bowl.... edonil
20 SS event. Weird seeing a point scale that low, lol. I usually play 25-35 points, makes a big difference for factions that have expensive minions.
Mister Monkey
So really it does not matter who you bid for, it will be covered by the box anyway
edonil
Quite true. It's more whether I have access to the archers or to the Arcane Effigy/ Soulstone Miner, or other Construct toys.
Mister Monkey
That sort of thing gets too technical for me
Mako
I just chuck stuff on the table and then watch it die. Seems to happen quite a lot when I play!
edonil
Heh, there's not any real strategy going on, I have to say. More just a case of which models am I allowed to toss on the board to see what happens. Alright, finally finished writing the next scene. Woot! Time to format for the board, and post. Mako
Bonus! I'll be reading that in a bit I suspect. Usually Sophie wants to write after reading your stuff, so I should finish my sculpting first though...
edonil
Heh, my friend Beth told me the same thing on Wednesday. Apparently Elle and I are good for other people's muses, because they get inspired after either reading my stuff, seeing my painting or just discussing ideas. Has me wondering if that statement is egotistical.
Mako
Possibly, but just claim it's Elle that's being egotistical and not you! Lol. It is handy, seeing stuff that's done well always makes me want to get back to things. And having someone that can get Sophie's focus back onto stuff I've started, rather than new things, is really quite useful!
edonil
I think the muses all just feed off each other. Elle gets a lot of incentive to keep going because of how much she sees Sophie do, and feeds off just discussing ideas in general.
Mako
I think you're right, I know I get a much more focused attitude than I ever used to, because Sophie's impressed (and a little puzzled) by Elle's ability to concentrate.

Mister Monkey
No ... no more kickstarters.... well maybe one, but not that one
Mako
Seems like everyone is doing kickstarters for everything! Maybe I should start one for my subway tickets to get to gaming nights... In other news, I've been making some progress today. Might end up with a fair size of update tomorrow. What's everyone else been up to?
Mister Monkey
As little as possible, and having a lazy Sunday.... look forward to your update....
Mako
Ahh, lazy Sundays. Always good. Weather holding out for you? Its getting cooler here, I kind of wished I had long sleeved clothes today. Shipping is now in a race to arrive before I need the winter gear in it! Might go out and get some black spray and plastic glue tomorrow from the hobby store a few subway stops away, since undercoating Dark Debts is actually possible if I do that. Then, when my paints arrive, I can just break them out and get cracking.
