Mako
I couldn't help it, he may as well have handed me the opportunity on a platter! And I had been listening to it in the office while I typed. It's amazing how bored and out of it I can get at work. ---------- Post added at 03:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:05 AM ---------- Oh yeah, I should have warned you not to picture that... Mako
It's not awkward yet, you wait til you see mac the knife! You know, I've just realised needing dozens of 6mm men all wearing the same uniform in varying poses is going to get really irritating after the fourth one, I mean, I'm kind of annoyed now and I'm doing the second one! Mister Monkey
Just make a generic torso and legs, a couple of heads then cast those up... then it is just arms and details to do on the different ones....
Mako
At 6mm it's too hard to do, I tried moulding and by the time you've got it to cast clean and cleaned it up, it's easier to just sculpt them! I'm planning on eight poses for each type, then might try to drop cast them all to avoid mould lines but escape the endless work! ---------- Post added at 03:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 AM ---------- Never tried drop casting though, and they're pretty tiny. Could do with a vacuum system, but the lab one isn't up to the task sadly...
Mister Monkey
True I was thinking 15mm not 6mm from when I watched the Flames of War sculptor.... what ever possessed you to do 6mm .... you are crazy....
Mako
Well, if you try and put a dozen people on the back of a dragon, at 15mm the models become massive, and you need like a ten foot gaming table! Hehe.
edonil
How many dragons are you going to need for this game?
Mako
Um, quite a few... Well, I'll need to make quite a few. I started counting crewmen needed for the basic sculpts, but when I broke 40 on the first faction I stopped before I started crying! But to play, I'm hoping it can be done with very few or loads. Mainly because it makes the project harder...
Mister Monkey
Nothing wrong with that .... will just push my two tables together.... there you go, now go back and sculpt everything again in 15mm just for me Well done some writing for the quill ..... Mako
Heh, I wish I could do it in 32mm, but that would just be insane, I think the biggest one would end up about a foot long... How much you get written?
