tenabrae
So it's a few months later now and I've finally gotten around to painting my Kirai crew. This is the first time in ages I've sat down and spent any time on models rather than just doing tabletop standard and I'm pretty happy with the way most of them turned out. you can see the rest of the pictures on my work blog. KirigakurenoHaku
I really like the terrain that you have. That tree is delightful. I can't say that I care too much for the colors of Kirai's kimono (which is not to omply that the painting was done poorly), but your Gaki are looking good! Ratty
I really love your Gaki colour scheme it looks amazing (I think I prefer it to my own), but I'm also not entirely sure on the scheme on Kirai, it just doesn't quite gel I think it's the blue as it's nowhere elso on the model. Though the painting is really nice. To really nitpick, the blue band of the tied obi should be at the top of the obiage due to her age. KirigakurenoHaku
Also, I understand the reasoning for the heavy facepaint, but it feels out of place when combimed with your color scheme. There aren't enough lights on the bottom half of the figure to balance it out, I think.
Carcosannoble
I agree, the terrain is great. And so are the paint jobs, Kirai really looks like she belongs on that pond.

Your gaki made me wonder why I'd even bother trying -- I didn't like my Kirai scheme at first but she grew on me. I think i'm going to paint another Kirai sans tree at some point just to be more practical for gaming.

I just think you need to look at the colour mix on Kirai, possibly swapping out the blue for a cherry blossom pink and matching the bow would pull the whole model together.
