Dr.Mercury
Okay, I did 4 demos of the game on Saturday at the LGS First demo, he did not like the game play. (he prefers buckets of dice) But he was interested in the fluff, which says a lot. Second demo was just the opposite. He liked the system, but the background does not have enough "Grim Darkness" for his tastes. Third demo, went well, he liked the rules and background. Fourth demo was the best. He loved the background, and spent a good portion of the evening reading my book, he also LOVED the game play. he commented that it was simple to learn, but he could see the depth that the skills and abilities would bring in. All told it was a decent demo day.
WEiRD sKeTCH
Awesome! And for the second guy, try to explain that it gets "Grim-er".
TheBugKing
LMAO. Grimwolf from Salmondworks would love that!
nilus
He liked the system, but the background does not have enough "Grim Darkness" for his tastes. The games got a Necrophile, Evil Babies, A magical mob, corrupt police, Demons and low hanging evil old lady boobs. Really you don't get much darker and scarier then that unless you start including Penguins.
gregdorf
But it does not have an undeadgodemperor that was betrayed by is corrupt henchman.....

EricJ
great! sounds like good results overall. With Malifaux we're always going to run into those people who LOOOOOVE dice, and never want to play without them...we figure they'll have to convert eventually when everyone else is already playing Mali
AoM
He liked the system, but the background does not have enough "Grim Darkness" for his tastes. Not enough GrimDark? Piles of Dead Hookers everywhere you look isn't GrimDark enough for him? Oh wait, I get it. There are still buildings that are standing and being used, rather than every piece of terrain being a hill or a bombed out ruin. Swamps with evil scary trees just don't have enough GrimDark. Ya left out vodoo dolls, 3 headed cats from hell and goblins with really bad teeth. But there is a distinct lack of vampirism and some people just don't understand gothic without it. jugglingfool
It's times like these I wish I still lived in Tampa. Not sure I could afford to game any more if I still lived in Tampa, but I miss gaming with Dr. Mercury. I could always count on him to play the new cool games. Now I have to play 40K if I want to play miniature game. SIGH.
Dr.Mercury
Well, in Tampa it is generally just me and Tony playing other stuff. Getting people to play anything else is almost impossible these days.
