Ogre skin

Skin is tough mate. I've been practicing it a lot lately. I've been playing with two ways.

1) Paint all the skin a darker color and then slowly add lighter colors and paint the higher points till you get the levels you want. Than you can go back and glaze to soften things up or throw some randome colors in here and there. I used this to do these:

Or paint the skin and then use washes to add depth.

IDK, prob. not the answer you're looking for, but it may help get teh juices flowing. Get some paint on your prush and you'll figure it out ;)

Good luck!

Get yoursef some p3 paints is my suggestion for all things ogrish...

Rathe than trying to emulate the whole colour think more about he tones and hues that make it up.. so rather than maybe looking for a green colour look for something browner and introdce the green through the shading and highlighting..

If you wanta painting by numbers guide use p3 thornwood green highlighted wth first a little ryn flesh then p3 hammerfall khaki. (one of the best paints on the market for providing nice highlighting colours) using purples or reds in the shading colours will add a bit more warmth.. using something like GW space wolves grey or trollblood highlight instead of the khaki will provide a slightly bluer overall look to the skin.. getthe colours and experiment is my best advice ..

Oh and could you remail me the dread pic seems to have gone from my email altogether...:o:

good luck with the ogres..
