Hoffman 2 and bulldoze pillars

thunderwolf

Question

I have rules question about Hoffman 2
Specifically bulldozer
The pillars are described as markers
So would they count as bulldozer
Eg I set up a pillar in front of Hoffman
He triggers bulldozer
Runs over it removes it
Then as I plaid right suit I create a new pillar within 3 of him ?

Yes ? No ? Kind of ?

If yes how many scraps created
As bulldozer says when remove a marker create a scrap and his front card says when a pillar removed create 1
So 1 or 2?

Yes.  Do note that the Construct Additional Pylons trigger is 'After succeeding', so the new Pylon is created with 3" of his final position.

Two.  Both the effect of the action and the effect of the Last Defense ability resolve independently.

  • Drop the Scrap marker as specified in the action
  • When you attempt to remove the Pylon marker, last defense goes off
    • Drop the Scrap marker as described in Last Defense
    • Resolve the pulse as described in Last Defense

Note that in both cases you're dropping the scrap markers (Create has more restrictions than Drop, so the distinction matters).

Edit:  And if you somehow managed to move through more than one Pylon during the push, the sequence is:

  • Drop the Scrap marker as specified in the action
  • When you attempt to remove the Pylon marker, last defense goes off
    • Drop the Scrap marker as described in Last Defense
    • Resolve the pulse as described in Last Defense
    • Remove the Pylon
  • Drop the Scrap marker as specified in the action
  • When you attempt to remove the Pylon marker, last defense goes off
    • Drop the Scrap marker as described in Last Defense
    • Resolve the pulse as described in Last Defense
    • Remove the Pylon

Just remember that Hoffman needs to move entirely through that Impassable marker while he's ignoring it (from the FAQ):

Quote

*What does “ignoring Terrain” mean?*

a) A model that ignores Terrain ignores and is unaffected by all of that terrain’s traits. If the Terrain is Impassable, the model may move through (but not end in) the terrain as though it weren’t there. Ignoring terrain does not allow a model to ignore the vertical distance of that terrain, so if the model wanted to move on top of terrain, it would still need to move that vertical distance using that terrain’s Climbable Trait.
