It was tricky as I had to do it slowly to avoid breaking the whole foot. Alternatively, you can use the method I described in an article in issue #20 of Wyrd Chronicles. Using it, you can avoid pinning by using plastic pins, it worked really well for some of the problematic minis I've worked with (Candy, Abuela).
