Perdita's itch - Finger on the Trigger

Je ne c'est LaCroix

Question

Hi Crew

Some help on Perdita please!

Finger on the Trigger - Perdita may take a 1 AP SH action if a model within 12 declares a Charge or Projectile Attack.

Does 'Finger on the Trigger' itself qualify as a Projectile attack? So the actual question being, is this attack valid if Perdita is already engaged by another model?

'Engaged models may not take Projectile Attack Actions' - with her Range and Close actions both being Sh, does that ignore the fact she's engaged?

Thanks!

The ability allows you to take one of her attack actions. Her actions are projectiles so she cannot take them if engaged.

The exception is if someone who can charge while engaged charges out of engagement with her but that is extremely corner case.

You may take the Finger on the Trigger action while engaged, as it's not a projectile attack in itself.

However, if you are engaged you can't take Perdita's Peacebringer as a :ranged action, which means its range will be limited to only the :melee range of 2". Since Finger on the Trigger requires you to target the model that declared the charge or :ranged action, they're normally going to be out of range, and if they are within 2" they will be engaged and unlikely to be allowed to take either of those actions.

As Ludvig points out, if a model who can charge while engaged (e.g. Von Schill) wants to charge while engaged with her, then Perdita would be allowed to take her Perdita's Peacebringer against that model before it moved.
