Reynastus
Hi All Just wondering where the competitive play is at (New-ish player coming from warmachine/hordes). Just curious because my local gaming group are only just getting into Malifaux and just been playing starter boxes so far. Thanks in advance Rey
tomjoad
The game is balanced at 50ss, which is the common tournament standard. Especially when facing summoners like Nico or The Dreamer you'll really see some lopsided stuff happen at lower ss levels.

twilightmikasa
There are several formats for tournaments, the most common being 50 soulstones. There are also smaller formats available, such as hardcore, with is only 20 soulstones. The standard 50 soulstone tournaments can take all day so I'd hold off on something like that until you are more comfortable with the game. Reynastus
I'm actually pretty OK with core mechanics of the game and looking to expand on things more with the crews I have so knowing where to aim for is pretty handy. Not actually looking to play in a tournament just yet though. Thanks for the advice

grrrfranky
The best thing to do then is aim for 50ss with a couple of options that you can swap in depending on schemes/strategy. If you don't change it around too much, you should be able to learn the crew without getting swamped.
