BrotherPaulos
Hi folks, What are some of the tools you use when delivering an RPG online. I confess I'm a pen and paper kind of guy but my latest group may work better if we can hookup online. Cheers
bowchikawowers
I use skype, and pen and paper, and i control the community deck. (They only get to draw cards if i shuffle or seriously screw something up and tell them to) they have their personal twist decks. It actually works surprisingly well. You can still share things like maps and whatever supplemental documents, flavor stuff, or whatever that you want through email, gdocs, or share screen. My group really enjoys it. Does that answer your question?
Claymore65
I'm actually doing the same thing right now. I'm using Roleplay Online, a free Roleplay site for Forum Style Roleplays. I normally run my game in person, but I'm just getting into my online one. it has a TON of useful tools. I use a physical deck for the community deck, and then I have a Private thread for each character to handle their personal cards. That way combat posts etc don't get bogged down with card decisions etc. What system do you plan on using?
BrotherPaulos
Thanks guys, I'll check these out. I guess I'd be looking for some form of conference like Skype or Google hangouts and then anything to aid with game delivery. I'll take a look at role play online.
