  1. That is 252 pages of awesome I can't wait for. I have several groups on the go that will be very excited to see this!
  2. Very enjoyable, even got the misses to listen in. My only question is what sort of frequency of release you're going for?
  3. Still waiting on it here Downunder, although I'm told it'll be here within the week.
  4. Thanks guys, I'll check these out. I guess I'd be looking for some form of conference like Skype or Google hangouts and then anything to aid with game delivery. I'll take a look at role play online.
  5. Hi folks, What are some of the tools you use when delivering an RPG online. I confess I'm a pen and paper kind of guy but my latest group may work better if we can hookup online. Cheers
  6. Very interested. I currently have two active groups with a third forming.
  7. My hands down favourite is reaper man, something about death on holiday and the Wizards dealing with a supermarket manifestation where they can't swear had me in tears of laughter, much to the bemusement of other train passengers. Favourite characters would include Vimes, Detritus, Gaspode, Death, The Librarian, Nanny Ogg, Vetinari, Rincewind, the Luggage and Igor. Let's be honest though, you'd struggle to name any really bad characters!
  8. I'm currently running two groups of five. I prefer odd number groups as it can easily breK Amy deadlocks. Both groups have the same fates was my only compromise. 5 character fates is quite enough!
  9. Hey Folks, I created these TTB deck mats for demos I've been giving of the game. I've been working with a local RPG community who haven't had much, if any, exposure to Malifaux and its card mechanic. They are more for demos, or new player groups. There are three sheets in the PDF. The central fate mat is easy enough, but then there are two variations of the twist mat. The variation adds a spot to record the more transient updates to a character sheet like wounds, munitions & script. I tend to suggest to my groups that the more transient stats are recorded on their mats and then transcribed onto their character sheets at the end of a session. I laminated up my mats so I can just wipe them clean at the end of a session, ready for the next group. If you have any suggestions then let me know.
  10. I uploaded to photobucket then uses the link URLs in my post.
  11. I'm tempted to get this guy to be my academic: http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/otherworld-miniatures/hirelings-and-henchmen/scribe/prod_23369.html Still struggling to find something for an overseer, and it looks like we'll be having one join our group!
  12. Yeah I'd heard this as well but the rumours persist. I'd really like to see other folks sculpts to share ideas. Still looking for way to model an overseer.
  13. Sadly no the sprues aren't available yet, hopefully soon. There was some feedback on the size of the female characters, perhaps that has delayed its release? Can't say that bothers me as the stronger characters and size has allowed me to push strong female archetypes in my local RPG circles.
  14. Thanks mate, More archetypes to come in a couple of weeks. I'm having so much fun with this RPG right now. Anyone else building from the sprues? I'd be interested to see what you are all coming up with.
  15. Looking forward to trying out against your Arcanists mate. I'm branching into guild presently with the last couple of months being about McCabe and now its on to Sonia, the Ortegas and then probably Lucius unless Hoffman is released by then. Trying to avoid McMorning so I don't fall back into my Resser habits. I also plan to try some ten thunders in the coming year, starting with Misaki.
  16. Thanks AverageBoss, I should have remembered that!
  17. So I might be missing something obvious but as I have my first session tomorrow night, I'll post this up in the hopes of a quick response. Does the evade skill apply to combat situations? I'm assuming we all use evade during narrative time to resolve a situation where something surprises the party and they all need to leap away, but can the skill be used in combat? You have "use skill" in the general actions but what use is an evade when its your characters turn, and I can't see anything about evade in a defensive duel, so I'm assuming its not used in combat. I then looked at the skills summary on page 115 and the short description for evade reads "Avoiding ranged or melee attacks".
  18. Loving your work mate. Long may it continue.
  19. Could we have a place for base initiative as well please.
  20. Thinking about it some more, I'm not seeing a lot for the overseer archetype on either sprue. I'm even struggling to suggest anything for this one. Also some arm options for a bow and arrow, a hand holding paperwork or a hand holding dynamite would be cool.
  21. I'm now up to five of the archetypes adding a the pioneer Coley Elkin and Tremaine "The Mississippi Mauler", a scrapper to my painted minis. Currently painting up some convict gunslingers and desperate mercs for use in my intro adventures and then its back to arcetypes where I'll be adding a Guard, an Academic and a Drudge.
  22. Good point, according to Wiki, NYC was formerly New Amsterdam
  23. I'm currently trying to build all of the archetypes and there's definitely a shortage of bits for an academic or a drudge. Whilst you can make a guard, a torso and arms with a bit more armor might also have been nice. Arms carrying flaming torches, lanterns, books, or a lash/whip would also have been good, as would some hats.
  24. I have my starter adventure beginning in London and moving quickly to a station in Europe where the crew picks up the train to Malifaux. The location of the breach is something of an unknown, but one poster suggested that when the breach was first opened it destroyed a city and a new town/city was conceived 'New Amsterdam' when the breach reopened. I've always taken that reference to mean Amsterdam in Europe was flattened and a new city was created not to far from that site. I've taken a fair bit of influence from the series Ripper Street to understand where earth was in the early 1900's but I've also brought n advancements that may only happen in a parallel earth and after a great war. My adventure sees the group leave London in a mechanical carriage, drawn by 6 construct horses, crossing the IKB Channel Bridge to Europe and surviving their first night in a much shadier 'New Amsterdam'. They are then processed through a guild checkpoint before boarding the train to Malifaux. I suppose at this point anything is possible and you don't have to create a whole world to give a nod to how different earth might be as a result of the breach and the black powder wars.
