  1. Hey Wyrdos, This week, we figured out who stole our shipment to LVO last week. Surprise, surprise. We found Waldo sleeping in a wooden box behind the warehouse after stuffing his gut full of minis and Fate Decks. So, while we file an insurance claim for “Acts of Waldo”, let’s take a look back at this past weekend and all of the incredible events and winners at the Las Vegas Open! Before we begin, first we need to thank the person who managed to put it all together! Across both days, one of our incredible community members (and PlayWyrd Painters!), ran 3 fantastic Malifaux events. So now, a huge thanks to our tournament organizer, Doug (aka Guslado): On Saturday, players teamed up for the Double Rush Team tournament. Let’s see how it panned out: The winners of the Double Rush Team tournament: 1st - The Limber Lumberjacks (Alister & Nick K.) 2nd - The Toughington Post (Darren & Jules) 3rd - Rank Amateurs (Richie & Steve) Congrats! After Double Rush, players went all out with a Bonanza Brawl tournament, which is a fan-made variant of All Out Brawl that uses a bunch of wild cards and modifiers. None other than Doug from Steam Powered Scoundrels came up with the concept, and it’s a ton of fun to play. The winners of the big Bonanza Brawl: 1st - Ben (Taelor) 2nd - Darren (Four Winds Golem) 3rd - Nick W. (Alan Reid) Way to go on surviving all of that mayhem! On Saturday and Sunday, players prepared for the long haul in the grueling and ultra-competitive head-to-head Fiendish Gamble GT, where players built 50ss crews across a 5 round tournament. The top 3 survived their battles and walked away victorious. Congratulations to: 1st - Nick K. (Neverborn) 2nd Rob P. (Arcanists) 3rd Joshua M. (Ten Thunders) Eric M - Soulstone Spork (aka wooden spoon) Best Painted: Jules E. Thanks to everyone who came out to Las Vegas and had a great time! We’ll see you next year!
  2. Hey everyone, Today, we set off to Las Vegas to celebrate all things Wyrd with our amazing community there. We had planned on having some content for Malifaux, The Other Side, and more available there in the Seller’s Hall. Like all of the events we frequent, we prepared some of our stuff to be shipped to the convention itself. Everything was going according to plan, but… bad things happen. We have some unexpected and unfortunate news. Our shipment never arrived, so we are a little short. And by a little short, we mean none of our stuff showed up. We apologize to anyone who was expecting to walk away with core or starter boxes this time around. Luckily, we are still able to host some great events at the Las Vegas Open this year. So, if you’re headed to the convention, make sure to bring your game face (and minis, and Fate Decks), because you’ll need them in the tournaments that will still be happening! We’ll still make the best of it by having a great time. See you there.
  3. Hey Wyrdos, This week, Waldo tried to apologize for locking us in the office with a small mountain of snow last week by scraping the ice off our cars (or so he said). But it’s been warm since then, so there was no ice to speak of. Nevertheless, Waldo was eager to take all the credit. So, while we thank him for all his hard work, let’s take a look at an upcoming Commander for the Kimon in The Other Side: Takiyasha! There was a time before Takiyasha ruled the oni in the Beyond, but there are few who are still alive to remember, and those who remain now kneel to the self-proclaimed oni queen. The only way to survive the vast desolation of the Beyond is through brutality, and she has proven her might by watering the empty wastes with oni blood. Thanks to the tetsubo in her hand and the monstrous gamaouji at her side, Takiyasha’s status has grown to legend alongside names like Shuten-doji and Zhong Kui. And it was Zhong Kui who came to her with a proposition. Why rule only the vast nothing of the Beyond when there were other worlds within arm’s reach? What is stopping the Kimon from claiming Earth as their plaything? When a Gate opened and shone as brightly as a star in the sky or a premonition, she knew the answer: nothing. In battle, Takiyasha acts as a mobile, brute-force battering ram. She goes where she wants, regardless of the enemies in her path. Either they’ll run away from the giant demon lizard she rides, or they’ll fall victim to her massive tetsubo. Takiyasha is an upcoming Commander for The Other Side, leading the way for the Kimon to take over Earth. We’ll have more information about the Kimon and upcoming content for our large-scale wargame soon, but while we wait, why don’t we take a look at her awesome sculpt? That’s it from us. We’ll see you next week!
  4. Hey Wyrdos, Today, we have some exciting news! After a long wait, Vagrantsong has finally arrived in Atlanta. If you preordered a copy from the first print run of our spooky boss battler, stop reading this and go check your email. You should have received details on how to finalize your order, broken down into two separate emails. If you haven’t received them yet, make sure to doublecheck your Junk/Spam folder, but if they’re not there, reach out to us directly and we’ll take a closer look. You have two weeks to fill out the form (that means until February 7th). If we don’t receive the final details from you by then, we’ll assume that you’re planning on picking up Vagrantsong at a later time, and we’ll be allocating that copy elsewhere. We’re planning to begin shipping copies of Vagrantsong’s first print run early next week, so the sooner you finalize your preorder, the quicker it’ll arrive on your doorstep! (And, yes, the Bonus Scenario and Skelly Man pin will be shipping alongside the core game.) For those who are hoping to pick up Vagrantsong but didn’t have the chance to partake in the initial preorder: don’t worry! There are (and will be) plenty of ways to hop aboard. The first print run is also going to retailers (both domestically and internationally). Check with your local game store to see if they ordered copies from this print run or wait a few weeks for it to arrive on their shelves. In case you missed our previous news post about Vagrantsong, we are already moving forward on a second print run (and even a third, coming later this year!), which we expect to arrive sometime in March. So, if you aren’t able to get your hands on a copy this time around, there will be plenty of opportunities to do so in the near future. Once you hop aboard the ghost train, make sure to let us know on social media and BoardGameGeek! We love seeing pictures and reading how your games are unfolding. All aboard!
  5. Part One and Two of Dead Man's Clock are now available! In part one of Dead Man's Clock, some Guild operatives discover that Arcanist safehouses are no longer as safe as they once were. Episode 141: http://www.breachsidebroadcast.com/e/tales-of-malifaux-141/ In part two of Dead Man's Clock, Joss discovers Ramos's final act of vengeance in a secret warehouse. Episode 142: http://www.breachsidebroadcast.com/e/tales-of-malifaux-142/
  6. Hey Wyrdos! This week, Waldo decided to start shoveling the parking lot. We didn’t stop him (Waldo doing his chores voluntarily is a rare event), and it seemed like a good way for him to tucker himself out. A few hours later, we tried to go outside out to see how he was doing, but… Well, it turns out that Waldo had piled an entire mountain of snow right at the front doors. Neat. While we try and figure out how best to tunnel our way out, take a look at the latest Through the Breach One Shot, Blood and Snow, which is available right now! The eccentric Dr. Jackie Amundsen hires the Fated to come to Fortune Falls and help her investigate the Far Peaks. She’s fascinated by legends of gigants, and is willing to pay handsomely if the Fated can take her up the mountain to gather anthropological evidence of their existence. However, Amundsen’s real goal is to observe the Modranicht: a legendary gigant ritual said to take place at the beginning of winter. The Fated will have to bundle up and keep their wits about them, as this adventure has multiple ways for Fatemasters to keep players on their toes. Twisted Fated in particular will get a chance to flex their muscles (or wings, or claws…), benefitting from their knowledge of ancient Neverborn ways whilst climbing the Peaks. That’s all for this week, Wyrdos. Download Blood and Snow, the latest Through the Breach One Shot, for just $5 over at DriveThruRPG today!
  7. Hey Wyrdos, This week, we’re painting the town red. Wait, no, we’re painting miniatures red. And we’re going to need a whole lot of paint. …Because we’re doing another painting contest! Looks like love is in the air. Or is that the smell of iron? Either way, the theme of this painting competition is Bloody Valentine. Emphasis on the “bloody”. The Bloody Valentine Painting Contest begins right now, and submissions will be accepted until February 14th. There are two categories for this contest: Singles and Diorama/Vignette. To find all the bloody details (including what prizes can be won), head over to the Wyrd Forums for a full breakdown of this lovely contest! We'll see you there!
  8. They say that no news is good news, but as we’re quickly learning, that isn’t always the case. Either way, we wanted to give you all an update on the whereabouts of our spooky boss battler, Vagrantsong. We have received countless messages across our social media platforms about when they should expect Vagrantsong to hit store shelves. We wish we could give you an accurate answer, but right now, we are waiting in the dark as much as you are. The first print run of Vagrantsong is still currently in a shipping crate somewhere near the Los Angeles port. When we’ve asked for more details on when to expect it, we’ve been told that we will have it in January, so we continue to wait. We’ll be singing from the rooftops as soon as they come in. If there’s one thing that’s certain, once they arrive, they’ll be gone quicker than how long it took to get here. That being said, we have recently received shipments for some of our other products at our warehouse completely unexpectedly, some of which we expected to receive at a later time – so, it really can be any day now. Unfortunately, we are currently at the whims of this shipping crisis, and communication/updates have been difficult (at best) to obtain. Once we have Vagrantsong at our warehouse, we’ll make sure to post an update. Right around that time, if you are a part of the first print run’s preorder, you’ll receive an email to finalize payment. Keep an eye open on your Spam and Junk folders! But this isn’t all doom and gloom. Because of the delay, we are extending the promotional offer for the Bonus Scenario from January 31st to February 28th. For those who are waiting for the second print or are waiting to pick up Vagrantsong at a later date, we are looking into options into making the Bonus Scenario available for purchase in the future, so you’ll still be able to scoop it up at a later time. Lastly, after The Dice Tower helped put Vagrantsong on the board game map with their two glowing reviews, we wanted to give back by taking part in their Kickstarter campaign, which just launched today. For more details, head to their Kickstarter page, but in the meantime, here’s a teaser of some Vagrantsong Junk cards you can get if you back their annual Kickstarter: We wish we had more news to offer, but once we do, you’ll be the first to know! Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding. We are super excited about getting Vagrantsong into your hands and onto your tables. Hopefully the wait is almost over.
  9. In The Storm Garden, Misaki sends her trusted henchman, Ototo, to pay a visit to a disobedient associate of the Ten Thunders. Episode 29: http://www.breachsidebroadcast.com/e/chronicles-29/
  10. Hey Wyrdos, We are once again on the lookout for playtesters! This time, we are in need of testers who are interested in helping us shape the upcoming expansion for our combative and chaotic racing game, Bayou Bash! In the Bayou Bash expansion, we are introducing 4 new Racers and a bunch of new ways to play, and we need players to help run these wild ideas through the wringer! To participate, here’s what you’ll need: Knowledge of how to play the core game (don’t forget: the rule book is free and is also on Dized!) Tabletop Simulator on Steam (this is how you’ll play!) A Wyrd Forum account (this is how you’ll provide feedback) A willingness to provide regular feedback and game reports If you’d like to help us make sense of the chaos that is Bayou Bash, then head over to our Sign Up Sheet. We’ll be sending out emails as early as next week! See you on the race track!
  11. Hey Wyrdos, Are you itching to get Malifaux to the table? Well, it’s time to put your favorite crews together, because Wyrd is headed to the Las Vegas Open later this month, and there will be card flipping, Scheme grabbing, Fate cheating Malifaux events taking place on all 3 days. The Las Vegas Open will be at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas starting Friday, January 28th and ending Sunday, January 30th. You can find a full breakdown of all the events (hosted by none other than our community’s finest, Doug Bowman) by visiting the announcement here. You can sign up for either the Friday Pass or the 2 Day Grand Tournament by visiting the Frontline Gaming site. Let Doug know that you’re headed to Las Vegas via the Malifaux at Las Vegas Open FB Calendar Event! Don’t forget to stop by our booth to scoop up some limited Malifaux minis, as well as The Other Side’s Starter Box! They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but it’s only fair that we’ll allow bragging rights and tournament photos this year. We’ll see you there!
  12. Hey Wyrdos, This week, we’re leaving and never coming back. Well, not until next year, at least. That’s right; 2021 was such an incredible year for us that we’re taking the rest of it off so that we can recharge our batteries. We will be back January 3rd, 2022. What does this mean? Well, if you reach out to us between now and then (whether via customer support or through our social media channels), expect a bit of a wait. You’ll hear from us when we get in front of our desks again in the new year. In the meantime, check out this hilarious fanart by one of our community members, Mckbluff, showcasing how Gremlins get into the holiday spirit. We’ll see you next year! From everyone here at Wyrd (yes, even Waldo): HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
  13. Hey Wyrdos, We have some exciting news! Bayou Bash is now on Dized! If you’re not familiar, Dized is a smart tutorial system that is available on both the web and via smart devices that teaches players how to play board games one step at a time. Dized offers both a written walkthrough as well as a step-by-step interactive tutorial that will teach you how to race across the track in Bayou Bash in no time! So, if you want to get right into playing our chaotic and combative racing game, skip the rulebook and head over to the Bayou Bash Dized tutorial!
  14. Hey Wyrdos, This week, Waldo started getting into the holiday spirit by… summoning a holiday spirit. We should have known he was up to snow good when he chanted “Yule be sorry.” I’ll never fir-get the frozen look on that ghost’s face when he found out the only reason he was brought back to the world of the living was for a recipe of Waldo’s favorite dish: poultry-geist. So, while we deal with a hungry ghost of Christmas past, let’s take a sneak peek at an upcoming gargantuan of a character for The Other Side! In case you missed it in our Gen Con 2021 video, we have officially announced the next two Allegiances for The Other Side: the Kimon (oni from a realm called the Beyond), and the Three Kingdoms (Japan, Vietnam, and China). While the Kimon and Three Kingdoms are both a ways away from being released (likely late 2022), we wanted to give a glimpse of what’s to come for our large-scale wargame. And while some of you may have already seen the 3D sculpt of this model at one of our convention booths, most of you aren’t aware of who he is or what he’s going to do on the battlefield. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the Tatarigami! Tatarigami are curses incarnate. Though condemned to the bleakness of the Beyond, Tatarigami have been recorded briefly possessing storms on Earth. Each fed its host with a stream of aetheric energy until manifesting as raging storms with human faces. The shogunates of Nippon suffered the most from the attention of Tatarigami. Lightning, wind, and rain were destructive forces all their own, but the oni’s curses lingered in the air and soil. War follows a Tatarigami’s appearance, but so too does famine, plague, and a disruption of the land’s kami. Tatarigami act as line anchors, preventing enemy fireteams from Cheating Fate while near it. Its 3” Typhoon Action dishes out Piercing hits while repositioning their targets, and its Lightning Storm is a solid long range attack that’ll surely give your opponent a shock. Given its large base size, a Tatarigami has a surprising threat range that your opponent won’t be able to ignore. The storm grows stronger while in Glory. A Tatarigami gains increases to its Defense, Willpower, and Armor, and its Lightning Strike gains the low-threshold Illuminate Trigger. This can help you gain much-needed Tactics Tokens. The Tatarigami will be joining the Kimon later in 2022. We still have a ton of characters to cover between now and then, so make sure to stay tuned! Lastly, we are running another giveaway! This time, we are giving away a Remade and Reforged box, which includes titles for both Hoffman and Von Schill, as well as a Metallurgist! There are a ton of ways to enter, so make sure to participate before time runs out! Wyrd December Giveaway
  15. Hey Wyrdos, We have a little surprise for our Malifaux players in France (or Canada)! All of the Malifaux Third Edition cards (both stat cards AND upgrades!) up to the Explorer’s Society release have been translated to French, and are available on our website for free! A huge THANK YOU goes out to one of our Malifaux community members, Jean-Baptiste Aymes, who took the time to translate over 500+ cards to French! You can download all the French stat cards by visiting this link. Malifaux Burns cards are in the process of being translated and will come at a later time. Enjoy! EDIT: if the link didn't work for you - try again!

  17. Hey Wyrdos, Many of you are anxiously waiting for our spooky boss battler, Vagrantsong, to be hitting local game store shelves and/or your front doorstep. And so are we! Today, we’d like to cover what’s going on with preorders, the release, and what we’re doing moving forward. But first, just in case you’ve missed out on hopping aboard the hype train, let’s take a look at the incredible reception that Vagrantsong has been receiving: The Dice Tower gave Vagrantsong not one, but TWO glowing reviews last week: Liege of Games says that Vagrantsong is one of the best games of 2021 in his review: And just yesterday, December 1st, Vagrantsong hit #1 on BoardGameGeek’s Hotness list (and is still holding on today!). We couldn’t be more excited about the reception Vagrantsong has been receiving, so thank you to everyone who has managed to sit down and play it so far and give their kind words about their experience! Many of you haven’t had the opportunity to sit down and play through the Vagrantsong campaign yet, and we want to apologize for the wait. We opened preorders for Vagrantsong back in September because we were expecting to receive the shipment of the game’s first print run in October. As you might have already figured out, that didn’t quite happen. Like the vast majority of the tabletop industry, we have been experiencing shipping issues across all of our games, and Vagrantsong is no exception. We are expecting to receive the first run of the game very soon, though, so as soon as we have them in our warehouse and are preparing to send them out, we’ll make sure to let you know! In the meantime, let’s talk about what’s happening with the first print run. Orders have been made by retailers, distributors, and many of you reading this right now. We’ve received so many orders (and pre-orders) for Vagrantsong that we have to close off the pre-order sign up on our webstore for the initial print run. What does this mean? If you’ve already preordered Vagrantsong, keep an eye on your email that you used when you signed up (including your spam and junk folders!). We will be reaching out to you soon to finalize payments. If you don’t finalize payment after 14 days of receiving the email, we’ll be assuming that you’d rather pick up the game at a later time, and your reserved copy will be utilized elsewhere in one of our distribution channels. If you didn’t preorder Vagrantsong yet because you wanted to pick up a copy at your local game store – we suggest asking them right now if they already put in the order with their distributor. If so, then there’s a pretty good chance that you’ll be able to get a copy locally. Because of how well the game has been received and how many orders have been made, we’re already moving forward with a second print run. Yep, before the game is even officially released – we can’t believe it, either. So, while the initial pre-order link has been taken down, we have opened a SECOND pre-order link, which you can find on our webstore here. With this second pre-order, you’ll be reserving a copy of Vagrantsong for its second print run. We are hoping to have the second print run’s copies in our warehouse by February or March, but with the shipping crisis, that may change, too. But don’t worry: we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more information. Many of you are asking about the Bonus Scenario, so we’d like to clear that up, too. If you purchase the game from a store (an online store, a local game store, our webstore – not secondhand) and submit the receipt to us in time using our promotional offer before January 31st, we’ll send you the Bonus Scenario shortly after the promotion is over. If you are preordering the game for the second print or are waiting for it to arrive at your local game store in 2022 but are still interested in the Bonus Scenario: we are currently looking into options. We’ll have more details once we finalize things on our end. It's a mix of the good and the bad with this update, but we’re doing everything we can to make sure that you can get yourself a copy of Vagrantsong as soon as possible. In the meantime, don’t forget that you can play the first two Scenarios of Vagrantsong right now for free on Tabletop Simulator. Find out what everyone’s talking about! Thanks for understanding and for your patience! We hope to see you all hop aboard the Silver Ferryman soon!

  19. Hey Wyrdos, This week, Waldo decided to take a trip to the other side of the world in order to keep warm. When we followed him (to make sure he didn’t get in any trouble, of course), we got swept up in an adventure along the way. So, while we wait for Waldo to get sick of the sunshine and come back to the cold, let’s take a look at the latest Through the Breach One Shot: Waves Off Cordacove, which is available right now! Though once a prosperous port, the town of Cairns, Australia has seen its ships and investors flee in droves. Storms are wracking the coastline. Aquatic monsters launch coordinated assaults on any vessel trying to reach the harbor, and their attacks have only grown worse. Besieged and trapped, the residents of this port town have issued a call for help. To uncover the reason behind the deadly storms, the Fated must first delve into the town’s own secrets… Waves of Cordacove features Adi Adara, Abyssal Reavers, Reefdwellers, and Trenchlings, so if you just netted the latest Nightmare box and supplement, you’re one step closer to uncovering the mysteries of this fantastic adventure!
