  1. And one more thing about Killjoy - I found him very, VERY good in fixed master types of games/tournaments - he can just decimate Victorias, Reva or other master without armor/def trigger with push. If you take him against Ramos or Hofmann or gremlins- you'll have bad time, but against some squishier masters, like Victorias mentioned above, he does really good job. He has no other use than being missile shoot in the middle of enemy crew which makes him great in few cases and total garbage in other- that makes him very situational model, ideal for fixed master game.

  2. There can be only one answer for this question- it depends of the board - if you can place Hans on top of some sniper nest in your deployment zone, he'll do better in most cases. If you can't, Trapper is better choice.

Remember two things - first, Hans can ignore guard the stash markers and draw los through them, so he is better choice in this strategy, trapper however can be deployed in very crucial location and drop scheme markers starting from turn two, which can give you few points during game.

  3. Killjoy is very good model, although he dies fast when focused by enemy. With Oathkeeper he is able to kill two models with low def or up to 8 wounds in a turn when he unburies. I found that generally Taelor, Strongarm or A&D do a better job due to their Ml 7 , 3" range and better resilience. You should try Nothing Beast - It has no special synergy with Hamelin but being able to take one model off board and then sacrifice rat with useless toy to place enemy in middle of your crew can be gamechanging.

  4. I was hoping that it can attach assets above limit. So in that case, is fast regeneration worth considering over additional head? Or maybe some other assets are nice for Gornyshche?

Another question is about Deranged Laughter Stratagem- it says that when you discard one or more Jokers yo gain 1 VP. Isn't RJ a card with value 14 and any suit so it would be drawn anyway?

  5. I played against vary typical Ramos crew (Ramos box, Lazarus, Toolkit), And even with Taelor/Johan/Ronins i lost due to buffs from Arcing screen and very high damage profile. In case of Hoffman, Power loop is very hard to deal with, same goes for new Guardian or Peacekeeper and Ryle is just killing machine against Rats. I have no idea how to face them - maybe I'll try Hans for his armor piercing shots.

There isn't much of a difference between giving something fast and obeying it to attack but I agree on Hamelin being the king of activation control.

Don't forget that the guild emmissary can borrow killjoy's attacks before he unburies so you could do some silly stuff with that. I'd swap Dashel for the emmissary.

If you bring Emissary instead of Dashel you can't reactivate the dog to sacrifice it later for better placement. Plus when Dashel gives reactivate, the dog is sacrificed at end of tun, not activation, which means that KJ losses turn and there is possibility that he will die or be tied in combat next turn (especially when playing against Tara or arcanist/Neverborn/Gremlins)

Perhaps im odd, but i don't want her to summon models... i want her to give out Levi's trick. Let her be a "waif" to another model, giving it a Bete Noire style ability! There are several ways to represent this in the form of upgrades or conditions, but also i guess she could just be linked to her "teddy" that way.

It sounds a bit like Bandersnatch, plus her ability to make dolls was established after divergent paths weeks 3+4 (I know that Wyrd can change models regardless of results of encounters, but still i'm thinking that Outcast will get some summoning enforcer/henchmen)

  8. She is probably great with killjoy, but i'd say that Hamelin takes first place for KJ bomb (better activation control and  basically you're sacrificing a free model, plus you have additional attacks from Obey), and Tara is second (She can borrow his skills plus unbury him with chain activation without sacrificing anything).

  9. So I played my games with mech rider  + return fire today against spirit Molly and Neverborn Lynch. Her crew had some WP based attacks with Datsue Ba, Molly, Jaakuna, Hanged and Belles, so the [-] on their actions was nice. I had some high crows to hit the trigger few times with an enemy losing the attack actions. It's a nice combo if you expect some WP based models, like against Neverborn or Ressers, but i'm not really sure if it's better than Oathkeeper, although it was devastating against Lynch, where I used return fire for scoring Set up on him and scored 3 points. It's very situational and i try it later when playing against Guild.

  10. He is probably the worst of all Emissaries but Hodgepodge can be sometimes usefull- especially for Von Schill (free shirt every turn), Jack Daw (another curse) and medicore with Hamelin (the + is nice, but it doesn't affect  damage flips) or Tara. I haven't play him with Misaki or Victorias so don't know how he performs with them. Upgrade for Levi is more for fun than for typical gameplay.

  11. I like this idea, but the reason for making emissaries was that in Malifaux 1.5 you bought Avatar only for certain master (and probably not always), so it was an expensive purchase. I also like the Horseman Levi model and want him to be played. Maybe Wyrd should release something like alternate Masters (e.g. Von Schill with prosthetics or horseman Levi) who would work different from original models. In 1.5 version there was Hamelin as a Master and as a Minion so it's possible.

But where i find the rule that says with an interact action i can remove blighted? (within 2"??)

thanks again, and sorry for all questions

No, you can't remove Blight by taking Interact action. @daniello_s was talking about actions like Johans Rebell Yell or Stalkers Dispell magic. Only Burning may be removed by interacts unless text of the condition states otherwise.

  13. Thanks for answer. I was thinking about using Gracie or McTavish in case if I would need more resilient model or additional sniper. Killjoy works great for me and i'm a bit scared of using other model since it could be eliminated before damaging a single enemy, and killjoy with oathkeeper have possibility of killing enemy big beater or even master.

  14. With Emissary you don't need to include The shirt comes off on Von Schill since you can attach it ignoring all restrictions. My pick for him is Survivalist as auto-include and then maybe Scramble/Oathkeeper or Hard & Relentless when facing ressers or Neverborn. Engage at will is great when taking Sue or Hans with new upgrade, or when you are planning to use many actions from Steam Trunk (maybe there are some other good models with 2 different (0) actions but I can't thing of any except Nix who doesn't have much synergy with Mr Mustache).

He can do the activation control game by summoning Stolen, in the following turn turning them into rats, turning the rats into Rat Kings, then turning the Rat Kings into Rat Catchers, and doing what he wants to do when the opponent has run out of activations.

For myself I don't bother, it's a bit boring. Instead I focus on summoning Rat Kings, I have five models, two plastic Rat Kings and three Twisted Apparitions, that I could potentially get onto the board over the course of a game. It's not the huge summoning power of Nicodem or Molly, but it's a relentless progression that can land you an extra forty stones worth of models over the course of a game. If one gets badly damaged use Obey to sacrifice it and turn it into a Rat Catcher (and rat of course, that +1 armour can be surprisingly handy).

My core with Hamelin is The Piper, The Plague, a Stolen, and the Obedient Wretch. The Wretch can use any low crow to summon a rat, provided there's a model around to throw rats at. Even another rat will do, just don't hit one more than once. You can potentially kill one with unlucky damage flips. The Rat Catcher actually has his crow built in, which makes him handy for summoning in melee, but I prefer to summon the Catcher rather than hire them.

Ashes and Dust is awesome with Hamelin, just Obey him to cast Industrial Age three times, then cast it another three times with AaD's activation, and that's a great way to suck cards out of your opponent's hand.

Nix I haven't used much. He's reasonably resilient, within his three inch aura of "no severe damage" effect, and the ability to spam Bleeding Disease can make your opponent very unhappy when there's a lot of Blight on the table. That said he's competing with the rest of our 8-10 stone range and we have a lot of good models made even better by an Obey master.

Among the nasty tricks are using Pipes to draw an enemy model in, using the trigger from The Plague to give them blighted, then obeying a nearby Rat King to charge them as a 1AP action. Every time you inflict damage with the King, hit the trigger to up its blighted by 1. When it's high enough hit the model with bleeding disease to kill it.

Winged Plague are probably the best in faction scheming model available to us, and again they're great for handing out blighted. I always take at least one.

Hamelin is a top tier Outcast master. Make no mistake about that.

I never thought about using Pipes and Obey in a way you described, many thanks.

Same feelings for using Nix- his auras are nice, especially against Sonnia or Raspy, but in most cases hiring Sue/Strongarm/Johan/Hannah is better option. Since Plagues, Rats, Rat Kings and Catchers (plus sometimes Emissary) put blight on enemies, Nix isn't necessary. His great advantage is Bleeding Disease, but you'll probably score reasonable damage from it around turn 3.

A good target for Wretch throwing rats are other rats or in a first turn- Johan since he can heal damage dealt to him.

My crew uses mostly Killjoy as big beatstick. What are other good options? I know about Ashes and Dust plus Sewer King, but I'm not big fan of this tactics (it's similar to Levi using his (0) Action). Kade seems nice, since he can lure enemies and Hamelin has no problem of scoring +2 damage with engaged targets. Desolation Engine can easily heal from rats and obeys, but it doesn't look like DE is better than Killjoy. Are any other models worth considering?
