  1. Thank you all for the comments, I haven't tried much OSL before so it was a good chance to learn. My job is to work with lights for theatre shows so I do understand the properties of light and how it behaves on different surfaces, but it's still hard to create this with paint. I'm glad you think I have been somewhat successful. I actually used a small torch to simulate the lantern light on the primed model to get an idea of where the shadows would fall and the best way to position the mini in the scene.
  2. This works really well because of the high contrast. Great colour scheme too. I love how this contest is pushing everyone to try new things.
  3. I absolutely love the colour palette in this. Very subtle but beautifully painted. One of my favourites!
  4. Very creepy! I love it, straight out of a child's nightmare!
  5. Thanks for the comments, it was real fun to do. Yes @Vega, the shadow depicts the bandersnatch but I wanted it to feel like it was growing out of the shadows created by the miner's lantern so his own shadow was covered and absorbed by the bandersnatch's. I hope that helps explain it?
  6. Love the combination of colours. Great job for an experiment
  7. Here's a few WIP photos of my Iron Painter entry.
  8. I love the colour combo in this. Works really well for the OSL. Nicely done
