  1. Haven't played against her but Smothering Flames is also a huge selling point.  Going up against a ranged crew and you can ruin their "hide in the backlines" strategy.  Heck, not even long ranged stuff, but even things like heals suddenly get a lot harder for the enemy to use (also, interesting thought, it might also affect Assist which would be super wild)

If you don't need LOS, you don't need to draw sight lines.

This is the core of the problem I think.  Does an effect that tells you to ignore LOS mean 1) that part of declaring your target is not done at all, or 2) that you do still draw those lines of sight but the targeting succeeds whether any lines are blocked or not?  My assumption is 1, but there's nothing in the rules clarifying either way and as mentioned above this does have an impact on Shadows.

This doesn't answer the question when its related to a model that just has no rules to drop markers (as opposed to rules to not drop markers) such as the void wretches (who aren't living, undead, beast or constructs), which I think constructive salvage would drop a scrap from.

Agreed, I see that similar to attacks that don't normally deal damage still being affected by +1 damage effects, so in this case a Void Wretch killed by a CS model would drop 0+1 markers.

    • Creative Salvage: Enemy models killed by this model Drop a Scrap Marker in addition to any other Markers Dropped.
    • Demise (Explosive +2): After this model is killed, models within p2 suffer +2 damage. This model does not Drop any Markers when killed.

As much as I'd like to say Creative Salvage gets around it, at least in this example I think the "in addition to any other Markers" bit does mean that if no markers are placed the bonus ones are also not placed.

If you wanted to fix these issues and make Lucius more interesting than an Issue Command Card Generation Bot, he needs to have an incentive to actually use his other abilities.  I would start by buffing Hidden Sniper to lose the gun icon so he can call in sniper strikes while engaged (after all its not Lucius doing the shooting!) and build in a Ram to the stat, add back the trigger to create or destroy a scheme maker near the target, and give it a + flip if the target is within 3 of a scheme marker.  Give him back Stat 6 with his cane and build Distracted into the Fancy Cane itself so he can apply a layer of the debuff each time he hits (and a second layer if he declares the beautiful clothes trigger).   Give him Protected (Minion) so he can schluff attacks off himself onto his minions and treat them as the disposable cannon fodder peons that we all know that they are.

Giving Protected to a master whose crew draws cards as often as his does would be way OP.  Who knows, maybe one of his alt cards will be more melee oriented but it sounds like you just want him to be basically unkillable.

@Saduhem in your post, you made reference to hanged using stones for suits, but they aren't soulstone users. Am I missing something?

They have Attuned, so they can use stones

  6. The "may" is not the problem, "treat" is. You're not replacing the rg with :melee1, you're just treating it like that's what it is. But the action's actual rg still includes the :ToS-Range: so it can still be affected by Bulletproof, etc. How it worked in M2 is irrelevant, all that matters is the wording in this version

  7. Hot Spot is very valuable to the crew, forcing the enemy to take damage to either put out Burning or Distracted is nice compensation for both being so easy to remove.  He's more of a harassment / schemer than a beater, it's just that he's in a keyword filled with harassment / schemers.

The real question is: how misery works as an aura on page 30.

    Pg30.
"Auras are not cumulative. If a model would be affected by multiple Auras of the same name (i.e., if the aura would change its game state in some way), then it is only affected by one such Aura of its controller’s choice."

It works like any other aura.  If you have two models with Misery in range of a model that gains Stunned, it is affected by Misery once.  Pandora losing the "one effect causing 1+1+1+... damage" shenanigans was very intentional.

Not enough Flaming Rhinos in the world for me to agree with the statement that that's a "buff" to Cult.  😛  Each force has enough simple duels that their forces rely on.

True, that was more regarding their units needing to put ST's on themselves for Glory.  This means that Doomseekers can summon care-free and Broken can ramble to their heart's content :P

  10. Just bringing a question over from the discord.  It was asked whether a Shaken Token can be used in your opponent's Simple Duel, and if so when?  The relevant info is:

    • Shaken: During a duel's Modify step, the opponent may choose to remove a Shaken Token from this unit to give a Fireteam involved in the duel -2 AV during the current Action.
    • Step 2: Modify: At this point, players have the opportunity to use a Token (Inspired, Shaken, and Tactics) and/or Cheat Fate following the rules on page 7. Players cannot use more than one Token of each type in a duel. The player who initiated the duel is the first to choose whether they wish to Cheat Fate or use any Tokens, and they may do so in any order. Then, the player who did not initiate the duel (if another player is involved) may Cheat Fate and/or use any Tokens.

The green text seems to be the relevant part to this.  Either we say 1) that the opponent has the opportunity to spend the Shaken Token after the acting player has cheated and/or used Tokens (and then figure out who gets to use that token in a 3-4 player game), or 2) the "if another player is involved" part locks the opponent out of using Shaken Tokens on simple duels (which would be a pretty decent buff to the Cult in particular, such as Doomseekers using Open Portal).  What do we all think?
