  1. @Cover: ok I see, however does it happen often that a model blocks LoS to another model? I mean you propably can draw a Line somewhere most of the time, be it between the legs or whatever. Or is there a simply way to check if LoS can be drawn? So this means a model has to be in range to get the buff when he uses his pulse ability AND remain in range to keep the benefits? Doesn't sound very intuitive imo ... /edit: just reread the chapter about LoS myself, got it, base2base again. Pretty simple
  2. I just wanted to check if we figured out some stuff correctly ... 1 - models grant each other soft cover, correct? E.g. a model standing behind another one and gets shot. If so, how does Ht worl then in this case? Does it have an effect at all (I guess not, since you always check base2base) 2 - say Collodi gets armor +1 and hands it over to all friendly puppets in 6". So do these models keep the armor in case they move out of that 6" bubble? Other way around, do models that where not in range before get the buff when they walk into range on the same turn? (Our guess: no, yes) Thanks a lot, cheers
  3. Since the Webstore is up again I just checked if there still may be some M1E metals available after the Black Friday Sale, but it seems they got removed entirely. So, has everything been sold, or is there still a short remaining amount somewhere hidden in the store? If there has been an announcement about this feel free to delete this thread, sorry in case I haven't seen it.
  4. Nice point Adran. You make a good point there, but I'd like to add that there is propably no right or wrong, since it's up to individual taste imo. Speaking for myself, I'm currently getting lots of the classic M1E metal miniatures. Imo many of them have really different styles compared to the new range. At least for me they fit together way better than the new ones, but again, that's just my opinion
  5. I'm looking getting into the Arcanist faction and prefer the style of the old metal miniatures. Since I'm basically looking for everything, so if you want to get rid of your old metal stuff, here's your chance I don't care much about the condition of the miniatures as long they are complete. Since I'll strip the paint of anyway painted and primed models are ok too I'm living in Austria, middle europe, so I'd prefer sellers from europe due to shipping and tax costs. However if you're from the US and have a great deal, just let me know Brass Arachnid Joss 1-2 December Acolyte Snow Storm Silent One Blessed of December Dwead Piwate Wuppwecht (from the Twisted Range) If you have any of those miniatures, please send me a PM and we'll figure something out
  6. I think we can agree on the constructs as a key element for gaming. Still looking at the available ones, there's quite a huge difference in optics. Mannequin, mechanical spiders, gamin of all types or the rail crew don't really fit together. Same is propably true for humans too, Joss, Gunsmith, Performer or December Acolytes don't have much in common. Do you mind? Also, as already stated above, amy ideas beside basing and painting to make them fit together better?
  7. Good points I like the thinking of those forces. However to me the Arcanists feel a bit odd to collect as a faction. Say you're into Guild and got your Lady J Crew, one day you expand and buy the Perdita and Lucius crew. Now, you have more humans - paint and base them the same and everybody will see they belong into the same faction. Or you have a Som'er box, get yourself Ophelia, perfect. However, say you have a Marcus crew and get a box of Ramos and Rasputina. Well ... you'll propably have a hard time make look them correlated
  8. Looking through all the factions, Arcanists seem to have some really strong themes stylewise, but they don't really connect so well together imo. Let me explain ... - Guild is fairly obvious, you have mostly humans and some mechanical stuff that fits the core style theme. - Ressers have a pretty obvious theme too, zombies and undeads in all variations. - Gremlins are similar to Guild imo, you have small and larger ones, pigs and a humoristic touch that can be found on most models. - 10Thunders have a bit of more variety, some undeads, ninjas, monks etc ... but everything gets hold together from the obvious asian style. - Neverborn are similar to 10Thunders imo, since they pack a lot of grotesque style in their models, this holds them together. Since basically every model looks completely different (Nephilim aside) you simply end up with a pretty bizare crew, that still fits together imo. - Outcast are probably very similar to Arcanists actually... So looking at the Arcanists now things get a bit different (and not in a negative way, just ... "different" ). Rasputina's main crew packs ice creatures. Ramos brings all sort of creations and mechanical spiders. Marcus likes to surround himself with ferocious beasts. Colette and her girls are dancers in fancy dresses. Kaeris is a mechanical Angel that likes to see the world burn. Mei Feng brings an asian flair into the faction. Last but not least, we have Ironside, a fist fighting brawler. So when building your crews, how do they look like in the end? I mean if you want to go banana you can hire a frost elemental, a showgirl, a mechanical spider, a three headed sabertooth and a guy throwing dynamite around in one crew. Again, this is no rant or some negative writing, I'm just curious how you like this "lack of correlation"? Do you avoid going extreme like described above, and stick to a theme? Or do you prefer going wild and don't care or (even better) like this lack of connection? Do you try to link the faction together with similar bases? Would be great reading your opinions
  9. Blessed of December has a solid Df, Hard to Wound and can kill stuff to regen life. Compared to the Construct it's probably more squishy, but hits harder and is a lot more mobile than the Construct. This makes it easy for it to take scheme runners down while dropping schemes itself.
  10. Haha, seems like you re-read my post Reading your first reply I thought like ... "Huh?"
  11. I'm considering getting myself a box of her plastic crew, so I checked Gmort's Unboxing about her. It seems like the right half of her hair seems a bit strange, but I can't really see it on the pics. Searching through google, I haven't found anything useful. Does anyone here have some proper pics of her? Would be really appreciated, thanks a lot
  12. Simple question, does Bullet Proof reduce blast damage that came from a shooting attack? Thanks a lot
  13. Since I'm pretty new to Gremlins myself I had similar thoughts about Som'er. So far I have something about 10 games with him under my belt, and definately agree with the posters above. Especially Burt and even more Francois can do a huge amount of damage in melee. Som'er can be just as brutal as long he is able to do a proper shot. Best moment so far, last week he killed Snow Storm and as a result a wounded Rasputina and Wendigo who stood close with collateral and blast damage His trigger is pretty crazy as long you can get a straight flip and be able to cheat it.
  14. The Sow could be another good addition for the Ulix box I guess. Maybe even War Pigs, although I don't hope so Mancha Roya (no idea how he was spelled) could maybe show up somewhere in Wong or Mah too ...
  15. I'm simply no fan of them, neither the new nor the old ones. The new ones are just a pure pain to assemble and transport, so I'm curious if someone may has a cool proxy for them Basically everything insect with some wings attached would work. Thanks, cheers
  16. I have almost all new Gremlins in plastic here and would like to trade them against the old metal ones. Maybe someone is having the old collection and would like to "upgrade" to plastic, in that case just let me know I don't care about the condition of yours, my stuff is either assembled or unassembled, no paint at all I have: 1 Somer 2 Lenny 4 Skeeter 7 Bayou Gremlins 1 Burt 1 Gracie 2 Slop Hauler 1 Ophelia Box (still unopened, in case you dont need it I could return it) What am I looking for? Everything ever produced in white metal, also multiples. In case you have more value than I, I'd pay for the difference Cheers
  17. Since it didn't show up in the list linked above I can highly recommend Battlefield Berlin located in Berlin, Germany. http://www.shop.battlefield-berlin.de/index.php/katalog/nlayer/917-1-wyrd_miniatures.html Strange it hasn't made it on this list, it's probably THE (or at least one of the most important) shops for everything about wargaming in middle europe.
  18. I haven't really had any issues dealing with stuff with armor +1, HtW or HtK, however I'm a bit curious how you are dealing with tanky models with high armor. It seems like there are no ignoring attacks in our faction, so any tactics how you handle such models?
  19. Thanks a lot for all the responses, played against them recently and they where way easier to deal with than i initially thought. Throwing Francois at them worked pretty well actually
  20. Just to be sure we did this right... 1 - a model with 3 AP can use (1) focus, then declare a charge and remove the focus to gain (+) on his first attack action. The second attack doesn't benefit from the focus. 2 - contrary to Flurry or Rapid Fire, I can spread my 2 MI AP generared by a charge to two different models to attack both of them with one attack as long as they are in range, right? 3 - Barbaros' 0 ability is a bit tricky, just to be sure we figured it out right .. 3.1 - Does a charge requires you to target the charged model, or do only the the resulting two MI attacks target and need to test? 3.2 - Different to Terryfying you don't become immune to this ability in case you manage to pass the first test, right? 3.3 - Say Barbaros is in 8" of a Slop Hauler and his healing targets, does the Slop Hauler need to test if he is allowed to heal? He is an enemy and targets something, so we're pretty sure that he has to. Thanks a lot
  21. Sounds like fun indeed I should have mentioned though that I have none of those models so far, basically only the currently available plastics ...
  22. I'm curious how you others handle the two sisters. Sure it depends on the available scenarios, however imo they're just too troublesome to ignore. From the top of my head I'd try to out activate them, then try to focus one of them down with e.g. Francois. Depends how many SS they carry for prevention though. Also if you fail, they heal up and you're standing in melee with your pants down. Beside Francis I'm not sure which models have enough punch to threaten them. Ideas? I guess tanking or tarpitting them with something like Gracie or spamming Bayou Gremlins and Skeeters won't work. All in all I'm a bit clueless how to get rid of them. Would be great if you could share me some ideas
