  1. On Horses Snorting Fire, there is a trigger to hand out Horror duels to models with Burning. (After succeeding) So, models getting Burning from this action, have Burning on them when the trigger kicks in, or will the models have to be Burning before even being targeted by this action in order for the trigger to work?
  2. Thanks. So a furry ice pillar for Wendigo, to tell them apart easily... or smaller one.
  3. So, Rasputina has Cold Nights and her Wendigo: 1) If Wendigo casts Ice Pillars, does it have to be within 12" of Wendigo or Rasputina? 2) Are those Ice Pillars removed when Rasputina or Wendigo Activates (or is removed from the table)?
  4. *Erik looks down at his 2 freshly painted Thunder Archers with a frown...*
  5. Thanks. You don't feel Wk 6 Cg 7 is worth anything? I suppose with Shenlong or Mei Feng that can be helped on their way. I like the idea of no damage in own activation, walk out into hazardous and shoot from there. (Very situational of course)
  6. I really like the Samurai models (and concept of course) but are they really worth 8 SS? So far I haven't seen anyone use them and while the 0-upgrades for them seem like a much needed helping boost, it also mean they can't have recalled training or anything else for that matter. What do you guys think? And is there 1 of the 3 free upgrades which is preferable if only use one Samurai?
  7. So damage from push, then reduce to 0 wounds, be saved by well rehearsed, then die from hazardous?
  8. Howard with the well rehearsed upgrade has 4 wounds left and has been ROOTED by Lilith "If this model is pushed, remove this condition and this model suffers 3 damage". Howard is shot, takes 3 damage from the shot, and is pushed 5" as a trigger into hazardous terrain which deals him 2 damage. So... 1) Does Howard take 3 damage during the push from ROOTED, uses well rehearsed to survive with 1 wound, then lands in hazardous and is killed by the 2 damage? Or 2) Howard is pushed and lands in hazardous terrain, takes 3 damage from being pushed and 2 from terrain, then uses well rehearsed to survive and stands there with 1 wound? Or something entirely different?

  10. Yeah, for ONE turn. Having the steady 4/5/6 damage all the game is still better IMO. But not a bad upgrade, still a patch for the weaker Enforcers and Henchmen which is also annoying for show of force because we discard that upgrade to become more Arcanist-like.
  11. I don't get why people think that recalled training equals high weak damage? Against Henchmen & Masters or models with hard to wound or impossible to wound, that recalled training will often end up in weak damage anyway. Being immune to burning is all well and good but when paralysis is thrown in your face, it doesn't matter much.
  12. A condition crew isn't null and void against Hamelin or Shenlong. Sure, Hamelin doesn't care but most of his crew aren't immune. I think only him, Nix, and Benny are Nihilist? Shenlong can remove conditions, just like 20 other models so also not hopeless against him. If you spend 3 AP from your master, removing conditions from crew members, it's not all wasted I suppose.
  13. So why flip for the dark protected model, if you ignore the card anyway?
  14. They have an example in the errata of a model that doesn't count as a target when randomizing (Doppleganger?), and if that only leaves 1 target, you don't randomize at all. I would agree with solkan that this is similar. Don't flip for the protected model at all, that's what I will rule at my events anyway. Until further notice. :)
  15. "Discard a corpse, scrap, or scheme marker within 3" to push this model into base contact with the marker before discarding it and the flip a card which may be cheated..." What if McTavish doesn't reach the marker, does he still flip the card? I'm guessing yes, since you discard it to push, and most things are just pushed until they are stopped with effect still taking place but want to be sure everyone sees it that way... or most, anyway.
  16. I think the blast upgrade for Misaki needed that nerf VERY badly. Attacking a simple 6 wound minion with no ability to use soulstones, meant she easily killed that model and handed out 4 x 3 damage which couldn't be reduced. Unless you play on a maze of Ht 3 stone walls, she could easily obtain several juicy targets, and as pointed out: The opponent could do nothing about it. It was down right game breaking. I think 8" is still pretty good and remember not all models have armor, which means she can still cheat damage and hand out 4 x 3 damage. That upgrade is still solid gold against most crews. I do agree it's a shame we have no real rider, and not much damage that bypasses armor and the like, where other factions seem to get more and more of those models. Shenlong should be able to Kung Fu punch the initiative somehow...
  17. So what you're saying is: He could choose to summon the wolf before taking damage, thus avoiding the damage?
  18. Had a game today against mighty Arcanists, with the new cool Ferdinant Werewolf guy. At the start of his activation, he can summon the wolf guy into base contact. What if he starts in Hazardous terrain? Does the "Activating player dictates order of things" come in to play here? Meaning he can summon the wolf before taking damage, or does hazardous terrain always "hit" before a model can do anything "active"? We thought it made sense he would take damage first but what is RAW?
  19. IMO everything that has a threat range of 36" should be changed. Whether or not good players can counter it. It's just silly with that range.
  20. Vic with Weak damage 5, 3 attacks ignores all but impossible to wound, seems like one that can kill any target out there? (Unless they have a certain Df trigger to skitter away or something)
  21. Yeah, I stoned for Df AND I prevented damage 2 times, which meant I reduced the 12 damage to 10... yey. The third hit didn't really matter at that point since she of course ignored hard to kill. This game, I guess Illidan was right, I was not prepared. Perhaps I will be next time. I don't think we suddenly see 3-4 Masters that never die, if we reduce the number of models that ignore everything. Perhaps people would instead need to THINK about what models attack what, carefully choosing their targets, instead of all powerful models that just attack everything with their eyes closed, like Vic of Blood. A few specialized models OR some models that ignore armor, others ignore hard to kill etc. instead of more and more models that just ignore everything.
  22. Thanks guys. The coin toss analogy is good... which also tells you something about that trick. "Win or lose turn 1" is just boring and not why most people travel to tournaments (I hope). Obvisouly I was completely unprepared for the model 30" away from me to deliver a killing machine like that, lost Shenlong, Crime Boss, and a Low River Monk. I also think Wyrd should hit the breaks regarding hard hitters that ignore everything. Hoffman getting that improved harness just shows that Wyrd admits too many models don't care about armor and/or damage reduction.
  23. Does that mean you always play a specific counter-vic list if you play against Outcast? Or are you saying ANY crew can just handle a 35" threat range point and click kill? In that case I would love to know how... Most tournaments are just fixed faction si you wouldn't know if the Vic list was gonna show up.
  24. @Solkan: Void Wretch buried Vic Henchman after he got the trinket, there was also a Malifaux child giving some +flip bonus along the way, or perhaps it was the +2 damage he cast there. The sister that chain activated used a 0 action to gain some other +flip. It was a tournament by the way, internet list FTW. (Which he did)
  25. Perhaps you're right, not really a "rules" thing. When a model hits THAT hard I think a 36" threat range should be impossible. At least with most alpha strike, like Tara, reactivating Howard, beast-activation with Marcus, you can see it coming, and it has normal range and normal attacks. It was with the +2 damage so perhaps it was even worse than I remembered? 😐
