  1. Simply awe-inspiring and jaw-droppingly beautiful! Thank you for sharing these! Just one minor point: I know it doesn't completely make sense from a fluff-perspective, bit I'd enjoy it quite a bit, when the flames and the OSL effects on the Scales of Justice match those on the Death Marshals. What kind of bases are you considering for the Guild's Justice set? I figured they wouldn't be the same as for your Wastrels... And, could you maybe post bigger pictures of the Lady? Front and back? I really like that model a lot!
  2. Thanks Mike! But as I should also get a better camera to acompany the photo box, that'll stay a dream for now. I'm using a rather cheap mobile phone at the moment...If you've got more tips for taking better pictures, I'd be delighted. Apart from that, sadly not much is going on in this thread. Well, maybe the mostly silent crowd might enjoy some more nevertheless?! Here's another couple of photos of the Piper's lot...I'll also upload more Showgirls in the next few days. Hamelin the Plagued The Avatar of Contagion / The Black Death Nix Obedient Wretch The Stolen Crooligans You'll get bigger pictures by simply clicking on them! There are certain things I'm not satisfied with, for example the shiny parts on the Avatar's brown (Should I use matt varnish? A friend of mine used that stuff, but I thought it made the models look kind of dusty..Any ideas?), the yellow light effect on the rats inside Nix' body (utterly failed at that one...) as well as the skin on the Wretch and the Stolen...But apart from those obvious points, there's a whole lot to improve. As before, looking forward to c&c.
  3. That base is really awesome! Almost comic book-like colouring, which I really like. Also great blood splatter effect, but I guess I don't need to tell you.
  4. Good evening, fellow Malifaux Enthusiasts! In this thread I shall display my unskillfully painted Mailifaux Models with the help of even less skilfully taken pictures. At this particular point in time I've got a Showgirls Crew done, as well as Hamelin and his hordes of brats, rats and ruffians. Should people be interested in more pictures or should anyone feel obliged to provide useful criticism and comments, please feel free to do so! Anything you might have to say will be greatly appreciated. First of all: Colette Du Bois, Mistress of Magic... and her Crew of femmes fatalles: And here's Hamelin with his entourage of blighted vermin, human or rodent: For the Arcanists I have Mei Feng and the Rail Crew sitting on the bench. Hamelin's ranks have been joined by three Crooligans, the Avatar of Contagion and Killjoy. All but the latter are painted, and I might add pictures later on. I hope this worked, I haven't uploaded anything here yet..
  5. Hello again! I asked the retailer again, he finally took a look at the box and confirmded the presence of the sticker. Everything went fine and Mei and her fellow workers are already assemled. Great models, by the way, though I have no idea how you are supposed to paint eyes on these tiny heads. But of course I've already found something else to complain about. The box contained a note that simply said: Instructions online. While I found assembly instructions and nex box artwork for the Relic Hunters or Yan Lo, there weren't any instructions for the Rail Crew yet. Any idea when they shall be provided?
  6. Thank you very much for the quick and helpful replies. I'll contact my retailer again and tell him about the stickers. Hopefully this will help other customers as well. And hopefully he wasn't simply trying to sell some arsenal packs... Any ideas on when these updated crew boxes might hit the shelves?
  7. Greetings, fellow citizens of Malifaux! Recently I've made the decision to acquire a Rail Crew box set for my Second Edition Arcanists. Well, I came across the issue that the plastic box sets, which were released before the editions shifted, still have the old cards in them. I made use of the search function, of course, and found a useful reply here on this forum that the nex boxes have ME2 stickers on them. I decided to give my usual online store a call to ask if that was really the case, just to be on the safe side. He told me that there was no possible way to distinguish the old and new 10T boxes from one another, some may have the old, others may have the new cards, and that I were to better get the arsenal packs. I don't really want to spend another 16€ or so for two arsenal packs in order to get cards that I'd maybe end up having twice, should they indeed be included in the boxes, too. Might there be any way to deal with this probem? I don't want to sound too harsh, but that's not really customer-friendly policiy, I think. By the way, myself as well as the store I mentioned are located in Germany.
  8. Well, I'm certainly the kind of person that likes to make things more complicated than they really should be (and cry about it later on ). I'd like to stay in theme as much as possible, which is why I'd shy away from things like December-y stuff or the whole range of Arcanist beasts. I did get the female Gunsmith, and I'm also contemplating on the Mechanical Rider and Oxfordian Mages, once the latter have actual models to represent them (Here's keeping fingers crossed for a female Mage). I guess Miss Step could be a thing too, but I live in Germany and I don't think I'll be able to get my hands on her without spending lots of €. I'd like to thank all of you, by the way, for providing me with useful ideas as well as motivation, both of which are needed and appreciated.
  9. Thanks for all the kind replies so far, but I'm honestly worried that all those scheme marker tricks won't really get me far. I understand that Colette, Performers and Mannequins will be a great team when it comes to literally flooding the board with markers, as 'Rehearsed' will allow me to place markers without using AP and 'Magician's Assistant' lets me place them in greater distance. But is that really going to help me winning, if my opponent puts up a fairly strong and aggressive crew that simply kills my girls in two turns and focusses on strategy and schemes once the opposition (or distraction) is gone? Fun fact: A friend of mine plays Nicodem and did excactly that. He killed my lured Showgirls with Punk Zombies, created Rogue Necromancies from their corpses who took on the Duett and, later on, referred to Colette as a negative playing experience because he found it relatively hard to catch her. He won that game with me scoring about 2 points, while he got 8.
  10. Greetings, Arcanists from all nations! I have been invisibly stalking these forums for quite some time now, with a hiatus of several months when my gaming groups' interest evaporated, and I have finally decided to create an account. Yay me! Well, some of us are interested in getting back into the game, second edition of course, and I decided to give it a roll with the 2 crews I already got before the editions shifted, namely the Showgirls (Lovely Ms Du Bois was what got me into the game) and the Plagued. I've decided to start on with Hamelin, since he's not that broken anymore, and I never had the chance to play him when we were still in the game... But that's obviously not the topic of this thread, is it? Well, I'm obviously not going to stick to just one crew, so here's my actual concern: ME2 Colette puzzles me a bit, but not as much as the other thematic models of her crew. I've been reading quite a lot about her performing best with a small set of elite heavy hitters, like the Duet, Big H Langston and the Mechanical Rider. What about the other models from her crew box? Back in the days I never managed to use Performers with any kind of noticeable success apart from derirnger shots. Mannequins took on the shapes of mere anchors for Illusionist, at least in my mind. So, what are Mannequins and especially Performers useful for? Any kind of advise or maybe even some sort of tactica article would be greatly appreciated.
