  1. Looks like the hamper is all meat - it would probably be easier if I just bring along a couple of vegetables options myself :-)
  2. You can count me, Connor, Maria, and (presumably) Tim in for Saturday night - and booking sounds like an excellent idea, given how busy the place gets, plus with it being Easter weekend.
  3. What time were you thinking? Looks like the earliest our group will arrive is 8pm...
  4. This is such a cool idea!
  5. Can Collin and the cute critter gang fight off the evil critters?
  6. They have a manifesto, and it's mostly written in crayon...
  7. I've tried to do a better job with the photography this time - that was one of the the biggest comments I got on last round's entry. Unfortunately, it seems that, on a computer, the large version only shows up if you click on "other sizes" - the small version that shows up by default looks no better than last round's effort!
  8. She is Akasha de Mayfairx from Tale of War miniatures. Unfortunately, the model turned up with a big nasty mould line straight down her face, so I had to do a lot of work to make her presentable. I was really worried about not doing enough to meet the theme, so once I'd fixed her face, I added the fangs to really make the point... Turns out greenstuffing details that small is really rather hard! I've done plenty of larger greenstuff work before, but found it so difficult to get the fangs right - I guess it didn't quite work in the end. Photography has never really been my strong point, and this time was worsened by me being at my mum's house without proper lighting etc. I'll try to get better photos next round, if I'm still here! :-p
  9. LordZombie it does the broken link if you paste the url straight into the post. Instead try clicking on "Insert other media" (near where it says "Click to choose files"). Then you say "Insert image from URL". It should work properly then. I'll go back and change my earlier post now!
  10. Thanks Viruk, I've now managed to edit the original post and use the "Insert other media" option rather than pasting the links into the post directly. And thanks for the compliments Freehand and patterns on clothes is one of my favourite things to paint!
  11. Hmm, those images don't seem to be showing... If you click on the links, they should go to my Photobucket, and the proper pictures are there. I have no idea what the weird "{option}" thing is about!
  12. Next project (alongside Iron Painter) is the Viks. So far, I've done: Viktoria of Ashes Viktoria of Blood Taelor Ronin All together Next month I'll try to get through two more Ronin, Vanessa, and Student of Conflict, if holidays and Iron Painter allow!
  13. Two Viks (15 stones each?) + Taelor (10) + Ronin (6) = 46 stones painted in March! Next month might be more of a challenge - I'm away for three weeks, and have the next Iron Painter model to do in that time! But if there is time, I'll be doing two more Ronin, Vanessa, and Student of Conflict.
  15. I'll have a go at Master please, still got plenty of Malifaux to paint!
  16. I've added a few more models to Kirai's crew (yay for Christmas presents!), and re-photographed the whole lot with my better camera. This will be the last for Kirai for a while now, at least until Jaakuna Ubume comes out. Shikome: Gaki: Kirai, Datsue Ba, Lost Love: More seishin than you could ever need: Onryo: Ikiryo: Izamu: Hanged proxy and ashigaru: Drowned proxies: Philip and the nanny proxy: The crew:
  17. Also, Torhment, the basius molds were a kickstarter: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2023606288/basius-2-the-deluxe-stamp-pad-terrain-tile-and-bas&ved=0ahUKEwj9nJraruLJAhVHnBoKHd0vAKkQFggdMAE&usg=AFQjCNHHGtZY4KJdUPjDzo1fq7t-zQgk2g&sig2=d3ZW6-mhxxdvZSzpfOVP2A I'm not sure if you can get them elsewhere unfortunately...
  18. Some additions to Kirai's crew: Hanged proxy (note the rope around his waist): Drowned proxies (note the ball and chain - each link had to be glued individually to keep them hanging at the right angle!): Philip and the nanny proxy - I used a Chinese name translator to get the characters for the urn - hopefully it says "Philip"!
  19. And here they are finished! I'm quite pleased with the overall effect - the bases and shared colours tie them together, without making them look as uniform as most of my crews. I was quite worried about hitting the right balance between cohesion as a crew and looking too similar. McCabe Luna Sidir Alchibal Miss Anne Thrope Wastrels The full crew
  20. Phew, that was exactly the response I was hoping for! Dismounted McCabe can wait on the sidelines while Anne joins the rest of the crew on the display base :-) I've started working on mounted McCabe first, because paimting horses intimidates me... I've also decided to go for a more intricate paintjob than normal, starting with the horse's colouring and the saddlecloth patterns. Aiming for a slightly faded look, but perhaps not quite there yet!
  21. I'm working on another Malifaux project now, and it's one I've been wanting to get around to for some time! (I just find painting horses quite intimidating) The display base was made using the Sanctuary board from the Basius 2 kickstarter. Carefully designed to fit the full McCabe crew that I wanted to paint. And as soon as it was painted, I remembered that I was going to do Miss Anthrope to go with them :-( So the question now is: do I try to hack out a piece of the base to add her in? or replace on-foot McCabe (who needs two McCabes in a painting display base, right?)? or just have her on the same style base but separate? I'd appreciate your thoughts :-)
  22. I've been working on a different project for the last week - Legio XIII gladiators for Arena Rex. We backed this on kickstarter a while ago, and the models have turned out just as gorgeous as we expected! Very pleased with them. Ban-Luca Aquila Aemilia All three This was also my latest attempt at NMM - and it has come out much much better than any previous attempt, although there is still plenty of room for improvement. I think that keeping the highlights on the metal really simple has helped - although it meant that I ended up really struggling to bring out some of the details on the metal armour, e.g. the patterns on Aemilia's greaves. Hopefully next time I'll be able to do a little better and keep the effect without losing the detail...
