  1. I´m also curious about alternatives for Lazarus and Ashes, as I´m trying to find something just now. Against McMourning for example it seems to be no good idea to hire Lazarus or Ashes, as both tend to die rather quickly or at least they can`t be used to their full potential. Greetings
  2. I really need to start marking important rule phrases in my book, to show my disbelieving opponents, the only reason I keep asking questions here is to show others written clarifications:) Thank you again
  3. Thank you very much, been playing for just over 5 years now, never tried that oO So its not like failing the horror duel during your activation where you just end it and the paralyzed is "wasted" - neat:)
  4. So I'm going to use this thread for a quick question about Sybelles Comply Trigger, as its the only one I found on the topic: Can I force the controlled model to take and fail a horror duel, and will it be paralyzed for its next activation? Kind regards Tris
  5. Thank you for the answers, @lawgnome, that is exactly the point, things would be clearer if drinking contest would say that the action fails and instead you have to take (1) on the house, but as it stands, we started to think about it. Basically, it`s not that important and is most likely never to happen, but I would like this kind of set in stone, rules wise. Thank you again for your opinions
  6. The issue here seems to be the difference between declaring/taking an action, because, as you said, *a model may take one of these "free" actions per turn*, but it took the on the house Action instead...
  7. Quick question for one of our local players - does the brewmasters drinking contest prevent me from taking another 0 action, if I failed the wp duel after declaring my 0 action?
  8. I´m quite sure that this has been asked before, but I can`t find it, so just to be sure: if a model wants to leave the melee range of a model with terrifiyng but fails to avoid the disengaging strike, does it have to take the horror duel or not? We played it without taking the horror duel, because we assume that no walk action happened. Kind regards Tris
  9. Oh, I knew I read this before, sorry... Kind reagrads Tris
  10. Thank you, another one follows - Taras crew can bury models and attack them when they are buried. Is the duel resolved as usaul, so is a model able to defend against these attacks, or not? Again, thank you in advance and kind regards Tris
  11. Who can prevent the instant death from "with a flourish", "decapitate", etc. from happening by spending soulstones instead of hand cards? Every model, or is it just masters and henchman, since it`s a "use" of soulstones? Thank you in advance and kind regards Tris
  12. So it seems that our McCabe player just needs more practice, sounds pretty funny, thank you all for the answers Kind regards
  13. Thank you, should have read the whole text So, he also gets no cover, good to know.
  14. Oh, what a coincidence, a similar qustion occured in one of our latest games - if someone is targeted with a Shooting Action, and Sidir does his "By your side", but places himself out of Los, is he a legal target/does he take damage, any triggers, ....? Kind regards
  15. Thank you, another one follows: If an ability says that I have to take a Wp duel at the end of my activation, does Ruthless protect me against this ->so, is the "end of activation" part of my activation? Kind regards
  16. Thank you, I think I´m just used to the Nurses Illegible Prescription From now on, I`m going to use this thread to collect all question which come uo at our local store and I would be very thankful for your continuing advice. The first ones from today: Does the Red Joker always count as Severe+Weak damage, flipped or cheated? Does Ruthless make me immune to Terrifying? Kind regards
  17. I also thought so, but it`s not that clear to me, because it doesn`t say anything like "if you did...", or "afterwards...", the only restriction for drawing a card is that the model has to hold an upgrade. But to be safe, I`ll play it as redraw after discarding Another question about Bravado: Am I right that I can discard any card to get any one suit I like? So no crow to get a crow, but anything to get which I decide? Again, thank you in advance.
  18. Thank you for the answers, so I did read it right. I have another question and don`t want to open a new thread, so I will ask it here, even though it`s nothing related: The "Bravado" ability of Lucas McCabes Wastrels says "when this model declares an action that will cause a duel, it may discard a card to..... If this model has an Upgrade attached, draw a card after resolving the action" Does the bold part only "trigger" if I discarded a card in the first place? Or is it "always on"? Thank you in advance
  19. Just one short question - is a model which passed a horror duel from a trigger (the hangeds Revellation trigger for example) immune to all further horror duels from this model, also if they are caused by the terrifying abilty, other triggers etc.? Thank you in advance Tris
  20. Immunity to "Manipulative" only means the ability with this name, which says that you have to succeed in a TN=x Willpower duel or you can`t target the model, if it has not yet activated this turn. And even undead creatures maybe have some kind of a need for self preservation, nevertheless, they aren`t immune to horror duels because the rules say it so, you played it right Kind regards
