  1. Sigh...Maybe I should just give Wyrd my bank account number, since it's going to be empty by the end of the weekend... SO MUCH AWESOME!
  2. Brilliant! Now I need to start a Neverborn master...grumble...grumble.
  3. All really cool ideas! Thanks everyone. I really like the idea of the "gang sign" to warn off enemies. I can definitely see that working for some of the mercenaries to mark their territory.
  4. Thanks for the responses! @ Mister Shine: Great ideas. For my Tara, I was thinking obsidian Obelisks to simulate her connection to Obliteration (whose prison was made from obsidian, I believe). @ Guardian: Good point. I'll have to think of something to deal with the "standing on them" issue. What do people think they are fluff-wise? Is your master just marking his/her territory in someway?
  5. Since M2E has moved more towards a scheme based VP system, where we have to drop these little guys all over the board, what are they? We know they can be gnawed on by rats, devoured by Steam Arachnids, peed on by Cojo, and moved by the Winds of Fate, so they must be physical objects. Is it as simple as your crew planting a sign, or is it something more ephemeral? I ask, because my group has been talking about making scheme markers for our games instead of just using empty bases. Then, I got the idea of making an individual set for each of my crews (as if I'm not already way behind on painting )! I'd love to hear some thoughts, and especially pictures of what other people have come up with!
  6. I hadn't heard about Leveticus being removed from the first book of M2E. Could someone provide me with a link so I can read more about it? Thanks in advance!
  7. I wonder if healing flips being gone is only for healing flips generated from using soulstones, or healing flips in general (even those generated from actions, etc.) are gone? Overall, I really like the changes made to soulstones. As a Leveticus player, it's always nice to be able to cause a Df resist on a 25+, but I can see that my opponents always hate having no chance to resist a spell. The on attacks is a much better mechanic, I think.
  8. This is my major concern as well. I have faith in Wyrd though! Just the fact that they're having an open beta will hopefully curb this sort of thing.
  9. I think it really depends on how simplified we're talking here. If the rules for each master/minion/henchman become "generic" or they start to lose their individual character, then that's troubling. However, if some of the talents that rarely come into play are moved to upgrades, and the wording on many talents is made more succinct, then that's really good.
  10. Being new to Malifaux, I have to admit a large amount of trepidation to this announcement. Coming from Warhammer 40K, I'm used to every edition change being accompanied by most of the rules being changed for the sake of change (most likely to sell models). In 40K, the game never gets better, just drastically changes. I really hope Wyrd doesn't take this route, and instead, works to make Malifaux a better game (even though it really doesn't need much). I'll be very disappointed if Malifaux changes drastically, because I love the game how it is right now.
  11. Ramos should have known better than to mess with Sword Vik!
  12. Thanks for the quick response Lucidicide. That was my opinion as well, because the rules manual states you can cheat fate only on any duel, damage flips, or when a specific rule allows you to. My friend's opinion was that he could cheat on the flip, because healing flips specifically state that you cannot cheat, while prevention flips don't state that you cannot cheat, implying a weird omission in the rules or something.
  13. My friends and I have recently started Malifaux, (and loving it!) and during a recent game a rules question came up. The scenario was this: I had done enough damage to kill my friend's master, and he used a soulstone to perform a wound prevention flip (preventing two wounds, but the total damage was still enough to kill the master). However, he had the red joker in hand. So the question is: can you cheat fate on a wound prevention flip? Thanks in advance!
