  1. @Godly: No, sorry mang. 1) Like has been pointed out above 0 dmg =/= no damage. Also, you convert damage into wounds. You then prevent the wounds with a prevention flip (see pgs 44, 48). The damage has already been done. The ability clearly states "when damaging" not "after wounding." Could this be a simple lexical error on Wyrd's part? Most definitely, but as currently stated the decapitate effect happens after damaging. 2) Decapitate is a kill effect so no, you wouldn't get a second Slow to Die action, even if you had healed with your first. Kill effects don't reduce you to 0 wounds and then remove you, they just remove you regardless of Wounds.
  2. If you're looking for a "take all comers" type Master that is pretty flexible I'd definitely recommend McCabe. He can do a lot of things since he has two forms and you can pick his upgrades as the situation demands. However, it will always come to personal preference. If you "click" with a master that master is going to be more ideal for you.
  3. Yup! 0 Damage is still damage. So if you prevent to 0 you're not fine. The only way it wouldn't deal damage, normally, is through the Black Joker. Also, you only get one slow to die action, not two. After damage reduces you to 0 wounds you get a Slow to Die action. You don't get another slow to die action off of decapitate, it does no wounds.
  4. Welcome! Glad to have some more people around. Feel free to ask us any questions you might have, the community is pretty helpful!
  5. Goes well. Work is out, can't complain. Need to cobble together my story for Iron Quill.
  6. Meh, we'll just have to see. I generally try and refrain from "GAME VERSION X.X SPECULATION THREADS!" in every game I play - they're ubiquitous and irrelevant but the icons issue piqued my interest. Whatever is done - be it book 5, new rule books, whatever I hope it improves Malifaux and doesn't detract from what we already love. We don't need another D&D 4e on our hands here.
  7. I like symbols when used correctly. Things I think symbols would be useful for: Ranged/Melee + Magical/non Magical (glowy?) Aura/Pulse/Blast Suits Faction Mounted/Dismounted Things I don't think symbols would be useful for: Characteristics Immunities Triggers Not everything needs a symbol, but symbols used for basic things are really a boon. Most of the symbols I listed above as useful are already in the game. I agree with Draco to an extent though, we don't need a symbol for the "Flay" trigger or "Critical Strike."
  8. Bitter much? So, you're telling me you don't play Malifaux 1.0-1.5? Because you certainly learned four new icons there! The best implementation of icons I've seen all have something in common: accessibility. Why can't you put the icon next to the stat (we already do it with suits) and in the abilities portion with the associated text? That way for vets it's still at-a-glance but for new players they have somewhere to look it up.
  9. On a readthrough of Vanessa (since I'm not super familiar with her) Tigerstyle is completely right. (1) Another Sister... only lets her be a bouncing point, it doesn't let her do the slingshot for another Vik. The Vik has to take the action.
  10. Definitely legal. The paralyzed Vik did nothing of her own volition. She can be pushed, placed, buried, etc from other sources all she wants while paralyzed.
  11. Yup, up to. Otherwise I'd only be half as awesome.

    Wong

Well, if Wong is being Obeyed by say, Zoraida - then Wong's bounce fails as Obey can't target masters. If it's by Henchmen Hamelin though, that's a good question. However in the rulebook it states that the acting player goes first in situations like this. So, I believe, Hamelin would obey Wong first and Wong would then Obey Hamelin. Also: Henchmen aren't minions, so no he can't make Ophelia glowy.
  13. Hell looks mostly Sunny today! Hell, MI forecast
  14. When I first started "oh so long ago" I was given some great advice: Read the rule book, a lot. If you take the train (like I do) it makes for great reading material while you don't have much better to do. Knowing how to deal with LoS and Ht situations as well as fringe cases really helps reduce flipping through the book while playing, which saves a lot of time. DarXcon and I can get through a 35ss game in about 90 minutes if we're not chatting too much now.
  15. Welcome, friend! I know there's a lot of players in that region. There's always Vassal too.
  16. Shooting is not an illegal action. This refer to things that are impossible via rules (breaking unique/rare limits, a spell targeting something with the wrong characteristic or that would otherwise fail on basic requirements - not due to range). Though I do agree with you with your order sequence. A miss, at least in my group, has always constituted you failing the opposed duel. You don't miss if you're out of range - if you're out of range the shot doesn't even go off.
  17. Seamus vs some Arcanists, just a fun game to test some theory-Seamus stuff but it didn't end well for my Seamus friend. He tried to take some Punk Zombies in place of belles, just to see how it would work. I won't say it was terrible but it was different! Taught us both a lot of good things though.
  18. The confetti egg wasn't at church, it was at a family gathering haha. Still good fun! Just finished a mini-game of Malifaux. Was quite fun.
  19. Pretty great. Just got back from a community dinner. Got a confetti filled hardboiled eggshell cracked over my head. Did the church thing and found easter eggs with the family. All in all, a great time!
  20. You too wowers. I'm off for a bit but I'll be back later!
  21. Happy "Spring Holiday" if you're PC, or Easter if you're not, to everyone!
