  1. Yea---this may be the product that pushes me over the fence I have been sitting upon. I hope to see RP at GenCon again.
  2. Halfway through the 2018 challenge---you are doing great, Franchute! This month I am taking the easy way out because I will be going on vacation next week so won't get any actual painting done until mid-month. I am really excited to finally be tackling one of my new favorite masters though: Rasputina. I am going to try to pull off a basing effect that shows her bringing winter to a summer sidewalk.
  3. Just in time, here are my June models. The wall of the Arcanist Arthropod Assembly Facility is taking longer than planned, but I think will be worth it. I only got it about half done so I finished a 10 Thunders Archer that was waiting and about 1/2 done. The 50 mm statue terrain pieces came out okay but much of the stone work I tried didn't come through. I'm still happy to have these for schemes that require blocking markers and for terrain. Almost forgot SS count, Franchute! 2 x 5 SS and 1 x 6 SS = 16 SS for June.
  4. I have the walls of the factory roughed out. The double doors at the main entrance will let any 50 mm base model though, but the side door will restrict passage to 30 mm. The bookcase on the upper level indicates where Ramos' office will be. Will be installing some stairs. I have the basswood stained and drying---hope to install the clapboard siding on the outside tomorrow. Inside surface will be stucco with some brick areas showing through. The doors swing open and will be covered with some rustic wood. In the foreground is the WIP main power source for the assembly line. The piston is 3d printed, and the rest is PVC pipe, hardwood dowel, construction adhesive, and green stuff. It will be smaller once it is done---stay tuned to see how that is possible.
  5. Well, in that case Thottbot, here you go! This is how far I got yesterday. The white areas are raised with foamboard. The lower dark areas are cut from a sheet of cobblestone plastic. There will be a 2" (50 mm) sidewalk of flagstone on the outer edges of the raised area. I am thinking of doing this in the flagstone cut from cardboard I have seen others do to great effect. It is time intensive, but only a few thin areas so I think reasonable. The large area on the lower left will be the inside of the factory, and the outside of the wall parallel to the sidewalk will have a low foundation of large rectangular stone blocks. The wall above that will be wooden. I have not decided upon the inner floor material yet. I have lots of ideas of terrain for inside the factory, so it is going to be full of cover. I still need to come up with several pieces of blocking terrain for the streets, but picked up the Wyrd street scatter terrain in resin recently. Maybe a larger cart or two as well will be needed.
  6. I am beginning a new Malifaux board that will be Ramos' assembly facility where his army of many-legged minions originates. The plan is to have the facility take up ~1/3 or so of the board and have streets outside where a few buildings and a town square can be modified during different games. The base of the outer wall will be fixed in place, just a low row of stones, so that the wall itself can be added but not transported in place. All other terrain will not be fixed in place. The cobblestone street material is not in its final location. I began with 1" x 2" pvc 'lumber' and a sheet of hardboard. I cut rabbet grooves in the sides to hold the hardboard surface. I cut 1/4" slices of the pvc and glued them to the lower surface (right image) to stop any bowing down of the middle of the playing surface. The staples in the corners were just added to hold the 45' cuts in place while the glue dried. The results seems like a good compromise between strength and weight.
  7. Hello fellow challenge painters! It is finally time for me to start building my Arcanist Arthropod Assembly Facility board. I will have the details on this project over in Terrain Talk for those interested. This month I am going to do three pieces of terrain for the board. Two 5" blocking terrain statues that will sit in a town square in front of the facility and be used for some schemes and strategies. The third piece will be the outer walls of the assembly facility (foam core and basswood in the background). @Franchute, I know you stated that terrain must be larger than a 5 mm base, but is that larger in all dimensions, or will being 5" tall make the statues work? If not, I will rethink what terrain I work on.
  8. Oh no---now I'm forgetting to post SS! Sorry @Franchute. Yes, you have it correct at 13 SS.
  9. Here is my May Ferndinand Vogel and his Beast Within. Now that I blow up the photo I see that I missed a joint line on the beast's head. Oh well. Cheers all.
  10. That wasn't me, @Burnin' Coal ! Although the mention of a box of shame makes it fairly applicable. Cheers,
  11. Hello all. I thought I had posted this 2 days ago, but must not have hit the Submit button. Here is my May pledge coming in late. Going to do Ferdinand Vogel and the Beast Within, both on Wyrd's Victorian Ruins bases. Throwing in a Tengu to get to 12 SS, unless there was a rule about 0 SS models (I will looks this up in the guidelines). Cheers.
  12. My April models are done. Two Medical Automatons and a Steamfitter for 2x5SS + 6ss = 16SS this month.
  13. April model 2 of 3 for me: the second Medical Automaton. Will post total SS painted after the last model this coming week, Franchute. Cheers, all.
