  1. Nicodem and Dreamer are both silar play styles which is good.

Nico and dreamer will mean you'll want to expand to a few other blister boxes quickly as they are summoners and not everything they summon comes in the box.

Dreamer does have an alternative less summoning mode he can play but still you'll want to have a few other key models. Insidious madness and Teddy come to mind!

For Nico expanding to pretty much everything else in the faction will eventually happen as he summons the right model for current situation. So things like the university of teansmortis or the Molly boxset and you'll want some necropunks.

if you want ...what's your budget and I can try and help you come up with an initial "tobuy" list with room to expand. Also where are you leaning between those two...both are strong masters and play as you've described. Do you want to play with the nightmares of a young boy or raise the dead to do your bidding?

    Cheers

  2. I had no issues with mine, it took paint quite easily and I cleaned it up pretty well (photos before I based him). He was actually quite an easy model to paint since he was larger. I do personally prefer assembling my own models but it was nice to have this guy ready to go right away and found the material to be fine.

  3. We're currently at 5 registered. Depending on how many players we get pre-registered we will get the appropriate sized Wyrd Event Kit....so if we want access to foil cards that means 16 players should be a goal, but hey 32 for a league would be nice too :)

Oh and if any other stores want to join in they are more than welcome to get added to the list. Comic Store in Nashua or anything in Concord, NH area.

  4. Results from last nights final round. Thanks to all who came out and hope you had a fun time!

  5. Event Timing: May 24th - June 21st, 2016

Location: Anywhere in Southern NH area (preferably Milly's Tavern or Adler Hobby but wherever/whenever you want)

If you have any question feel free to contact Adam H. (Twitter: @PFalcon83) or reply to this thread

Sign-ups are located here: Malifaux Slow-Grow League Sign-Ups

We will be running a Malifaux Slow-Grow league in the Manchester, New Hampshire area.

We will be using these rules. The league will run for 5 weeks. League nights are TUESDAYS. Bonus for playing games on league nights at either Milly's Tavern or Adler Hobbies. See the slow grow league rules linked above.

    Prizes for:

    • 1st, 2nd, 3rd place based on LP/DIFF/VP (LP = League Points, DIFF = Differential, VP = Victory Points) (WIN=3LP, LOSS=0LP, DRAW=1LP)
    • Most Hobby Achievement Points (AP) earned (see Wyrd Slow Grow rules). This is a painting and hobby focused prize, so get your paints ready!
    • Most League Achievement Points (AP) earned (see Wyrd Slow Grow rules) (+2AP for a game played on Tuesday at Milly's or Adler Hobby, +1AP for game played at Adler on non-Tuesday)

    Changes to rules are:

    • Up to 3 League Games a Week will count but they must be against opponents you haven't played that week
    • Games can be played anywhere and not just on Tuesdays to earn AP
      • NOTE: +2AP for a game played on Tuesday at Milly's or Adler Hobby, +1AP for game played at Adler on non-Tuesday
    • League weeks start 12AM every Tuesday
    • Play at least 2 different opponents
    • Play at least 4 games
    • Record games and my achievements on the Google Form located here (http://goo.gl/forms/KRt5cR50sq)
    • Top 2 players will be paired to play on the final Tuesday at a location agreed by both players (suggesting Milly's or Adler, but anywhere is fine)

    Soulstone Weekly Schedule:

    • Week 1: 35ss
    • Week 2: 40ss
    • Week 3: 45ss
    • Week 4: 50ss
    • Week 5: 50ss

    Venue Considerations:

    • Supporting local gaming venues is important. If you wish to play at Milly's we recommend buying food / drinks there to support the gaming space. We also want to support our FLGS so if you plan to play at Adler's Hobby remember there is a $8 fee per visit. However, it is best to buy a 5 day pass which costs $25 to save some cash. Each visit with your pass includes a free beverage.

I would say paying that whalloping 12 points for Hannah is not really worth it when usually just Lilith + Primordial magic already lets you draw 8 cards and keep 6, which is good enough to ensure a decent hand without sinking too many points into it.

Now, one issue you might find is: Nekima is really, really powerful. She will get bogged down, focused, rushed and whatever the hell else your oponent can do to keep her from mulching their stuff, which she will if she has the chance. I often run models like the Black Blood Shaman and Mister Graves with Nekima, as supports for her.

The shaman can heal and add some ping damage if you are surrounded or fail to kill an enemy by only just. And Graves can potentially allow for silly yet awesome first turn charges (Dangerous, but might work if you do it at the tail end of the turn and then get initiative next.)

What I am saying is: when you take Nekima you end up building your list more around her than Lilith, which might be cool, but is something to keep in mind.

Very valid points. I agree on the Hannah comment but it is quite liberating and yes requires really knowing how to use these models in unison. But yes I think your suggestions are probably a better starting point. Graves is AMAZING in a Lilith crew for the reasons you describe. I'm not a huge fan of BBS even though it does serve a good role (just a little pricey for me).

So far key takeaways are grab a doppleganger and a Mr. Graves and you'll be at a good starting point....still curious what OP plan was for the Insidious Madness.

  7. The beauty of the game is you can learn with anything. I see some interesting synergies you have potential for with this list, but a few things I'd consider (which I'll get to). What I'd like to ask you first is what do you plan to do with the 2x Insidious in the Lilith crew? The reason I ask is because while they are great models they mostly focus on WP 'debuffs' and the WP duels you force with this Lilith build are Wicked Vines and Tangle Shadows (both which are good, but Wicked vines is amazing).

So I'd suggest dropping Tuco and using a Doppleganger. Depending on the matchup and scenario go with either Mimics or Retributions Eye on Dopple. For Nekima I suggest either Pact or Fears Given Form (again depending on situation). Pact if you need her to be VERY aggressive and don't want the BJ to ruin your day. FgF if you are going against a large group of models potentially.

Oh and if you have access to Hannah, here is a fun one where you have two Rush of Magic (Lilith + Primordial), and Arcane Reservoir, and with On Wings can even see more cards. So that's 9 cards you get to see (keep 7), and if you need to you can stone to see 3 more and discard 3 more (potential of 12 cards seen; which is about 22% of the deck).

It seems like a lot is being read into the word "Exactly".  Why Channel says "exactly 2 damage" rather than "2 damage" I do not know.  My best guess is inconstant verbiage that all means the same thing, there are many examples of this in the rule books.  Given that is seems like a stretch so say the word "exactly" means the effect fails if that exact amount of damage is not taken.

You are ignoring words to 'help' your interpretation.

The issue of if a model can prevent/reduce/be immune to the "cost" of an action/ability/trigger and still gain the effect has come up many times.  IIRC Wyrd has not addressed any of these questions and the consensus is usually they can prevent/reduce/be immune and still gain the effect.

This is simply not true. If you are immune to paralyze you do not gain paralyzed condition. Not sure where your consensus is coming from on that? With that said I'm pretty sure this question has been answered, I hope this question can be closed soon.

Just found this!  Awesome sauce that you're doing it again.

My crew is gonna make the trip down, let us know if we should bring any terrain or anything.  I'll get better numbers for you the close we get.

PFalcon is gonna toss this on the calender as well.

All added to calendar. thanks for heads up I must have missed this when originally posted. Going to talk it up locally, hopefully send a few players down to attend.

  11. @CritterKiller32 found another issue with Zoraida. If you take "Tarot Reading" upgrade things are fixed for the Swampfiends, but Rooster Riders are not Swampfiends, and count as hired thru her "Enthrall" Ability, meaning for Rooster Riders regardless she needs to pay the extra ss for them (and they take up a merc slot for each they take).

What's odd is that the Soulstone spent at top is correct but the listing for the rooster riders in the crew list is incorrect and shows 6ss even though the total soulstones used is counting them at 7ss (so the number is correct, but the display is wrong).

Oh wow the Hodgepodge emissary is bad. Ya he is kind of a neat model in a jokey, ridiculous kind of way but as an impressive centerpiece model he is SHOCKINGLY BAD. The other emissaries are big and baddass and threatening but grandpa on a donkey is just disappointing.

I think its great. Just what the Outcasts needed. One of my favorite Emissaries.
