I run a viks list with von schill as the henchman, so I normally take with those two a trapper or specialist (depending on opponants crew) and a convict gunslinger with some ronin. But if you'd like to run von schill as your leader, consider, getting taelor (for constructs) ronin, convict gunslinger (to use your mask cards on trigger happy) and a student of conflict. The student will likely only give fast to von schill once, at the start of the game before he flies off, but works great giving fast to your trapper or specialist in the following turns.

If you do use sue, do not put up his duty aura, otherwise the models affected can be repeatedly pacify/incited for 1wound every time you lose the duel, because the pacify/incite affect will never affect your model, and that makes them fair game to be targeted again.. and again.. until you win or die. Also, sadly (and purposely I think) you cannot take sue with Von Schill or the Gunsmiths because of Man in Black ability.

In the new errata PDFs they released it shows that an area is affected if there is any path to get from the origin of the spell and to the target area. So in the case of a building, the area will affect the outside as long as there is a door anywhere in the building (and with 18iches) that is open and allows access outside the building.

I thoroughly beat Pandora in a 35 pt game the other day using the following list- -stiched together x2 -von schill -freikorps specialist -papa loco The idea behind this list was to use the stiched early to get fog up to protect against Pandora and also lure from lilitu. von schill was for my objective, but did a good job killing some minions, but i never shot at Pandora, he's only got 8wp as a defender. The specialist and papa loco were my tech tho, to either obey and have papa charge a model near Pandora (not her tho, otherwise she bounces away) and then activate and blow up twice killing her with blasts, or my.other plan was to have a stiched walk up close to her, then pass, and have my specialist shoot the stitched in the back twice (does not die allows the stiched to get shot even when dying) cheat the df low and have the blasts kill Pandora. Specialist also has stubborn, giving him 7wp in duels. Be very careful to not have papa close to your own models tho, with wp2, he's an easy win if your opponent kills him near your models, keep the fog up in front of him to protect him until its obey time. Like I said earlier, this strategy allowed me to decimate my local Pandora player. Good luck =D

Hypothetically, if model B was 5ichs from model A in the above diagram, does model A start its three inc vision from its own base, or from the edge of the obscuring terrain, aka. can model A draw LoS to model B?

Can I just clarify what Bad juju's Eternal cost is? In the original rulebook it cost 2 soulstones, and on my stat card it cost 2soulstones, but on the v2 cards online it costs 1 soulstone, but there is not a errata on the Models errata page to say its been changed, so I'm not sure. Does anyone know if its 1or2 soulstones?

I'll let my friend who plays Pandora that trick with the lilitu, its absolutely gold. Lilitu even heals herself the 2wd she suffers from the duel losses.

I have always believed Ophelia would take 4wounds. I don't believe that damage is mitigated to a lower wound count based on the current health of the model.

I'm ot certain being in b2b with terrain means your 'in' the terrain. However, I am happy to accept that a 3inch obscuring aura does not block LoS. Thanks everyone =D

When you pick the viks as your master, you have 2 models called The Viktorias as your master, you cannot choose two master specific schemes for each of them.

I will be running an Malifaux tournament on Saturday 12th May at my LGS, at 12.30pm. The event will be run in accordance with the Gaining Ground document, but I am imposing Fixed Master for the rounds because many players don't have more than 1 master per faction they own. 35ss games, 55ss pool. Just a quick question to resolve a dispute some players are having at my LGS. If a model is in B2B with obscuring terrain that's less than 3 inches wide, can an opposing model target it. The rules state that you cannot draw LOS completely through obscuring terrain, but if your target is in B2B, can you see him? Also, would this be any different if the obscuring terrain was a 3inch aura, like Snow Storm or Stiched Together have. Can they be Targeted if they have these Aura's up from a model outside the aura? Thanks in advance.

The issue with a leaving the Ronin behind is that you cant summon a new Vik with a Ronin unless they are 2inches apart. So unless you plan to leave a Vik behind with the Ronin, with a Student and a Librarian for good measure, you wont reliably be able to cast Another One. I find that leaving 15ss and half your master behind is not the best use of aggressive models.

Leaving a vik behind and getting fast for the 1ap switch leaves 6ap for attacks, but if you just run them both forward, they still have 6ap for attacks. I've found the student gives fast to a vik on turn 1 only, so if you like the student, hire a Convict Gunslinger or a Friekorps Trapper who can also stay behind to pick up fast in the later turns. The librarian healing combo is cool, but once your opponent knows about it, they just alpha your vik before you can heal her (7 wound is squishy, even with ss to boost df) You absolutely cannot go wrong with Von schill, he's a fantastic objective grabber and great ranged attacker. For blast damage in outcast, the friekorps specialist and Lazarus are both good options. I find them necessary to beat pandora -killing her with blast damage off targeting her sorrows or the usually nearby doppelganger, its much much easier than trying to target pandora herself.

Pandora has a 0 action that causes incite or pacify to a model that is not already affected by incite or pacify. When it gets cast successfully, she gets to cast the 0 action again, as well as getting her 4inch push and your model taking 1 wound. So if you have Tread the Line up, s he can target a model in the aura over and over again, because everytime she hits your model with incite/pacify, your model won't be wffected by it, which leaves it a legal target to be incite/pacified again, as many times as she casts it.

Right, so if you cannot use a (0) action unless its your own activation, even when it says 'Immediately use', does that mean that Nix's Gorge on Pain ability will only give you an action if it is his own activation. Because he only has one ability that is a (0) itself that allows him to sacrifice a model, and that would mean he has used his (0) for the turn already and cannot make another one anyway. I understood Nix to be able to use a (0) immediately during any activation, such as when Hamelin sacrifices models. And if Nix can use (0) outside and in addition to his own activation, then the Terror Tot can as well, right?

Right, that's what I though as well, but I was not sure exactly what it meant by 'This model may immediately use this Action after killing a living or Undead model.' I initially thought that was trying to allow the use of the (0) outside of its own activation, otherwise why would it say Immediately. It could not have that clause at all, and easily just say '(0) After killing a living or Undead model, this model gains 1 Blood Counter.' if it was only supposed to be used on your own activation. Incidentally, Does a model dying from black blood loss of wound count as being killed from the terror tot anyway?

I've done a search, but I can't find an answer, but if anyone knows a link, please feel free to post it. I want to know if a terror tot can use Drain Blood when a model with only 1 would remaining makes a melee strike against it and takes a wound from Black Blood, causing the attacker to be killed. The questions I have with this are - - Can Drain Blood be used during another models activation, and - can the above be done if terror tot had already used Drain Blood that turn, ie. During its own activation?

Hello everyone, this is my first post, and I have a question about strategy and Scheme overlaps. I was playing a game the other day and the following situation came up. My Opponent got Plant the Evidence as his strategy, which means he can plant just two pieces of evidence inside my deployment zone for the full 4vp. He then wanted to choose the scheme Breakthrough, which he needs to get units inside my deployment zone. Is this legit? I argued that it was not, because both strategy and scheme require his to be within my deployment zone, and the rules state that 'Terrain features and models can only be nominated by one Strategy and one Scheme per player at any time.' After reading that line through though now, I am not sure if that means you can choose- - just 1 scheme to overlap the strategy, but never 2 schemes that overlap, because of the word 'and', not 'or', or if it means - you may have no schemes overlap any strategy or other schemes. And, if it turns out you can have one strategy and one scheme overlap, then is it legit for me to choose Hold Out if I've been assigned Distract as my strategy?
