Thanks for the advice. Probably not the best round to try something completely new on To be honest I was getting hit with painting burnout this round. And going up against Omni didn't help

I'd say any round is a good time to try something new. It doesn't matter who you're up against, as long as you give it your best shot and as long as you're happy with the end effect...

as for going through, it's all up to the judges anyway...

Dont know what you mean by regular light? Theres a battery holder in the base, wires running through the base and into the wall and an LED inside the lantern...

to be honest, there's little to no OSL here.
The first two pics in the top row are taken without the LED inside the lantern being lit. The other four are with the light on (and show as the piece is intended to be seen).

It might be me, but I love the fact that it is hidden. Always love exploring and finding hidden coolness

it's really simple. Just take a wire (tiniest possible diametre), bend it a couple of times and paint orange/white. then snip it to about 2-3mm length. repair damage to the paint caused by the snipping.

glue to the base.

done
