  1. Criid can only ignore LoS on CA 7+ models so it is only useful against masters. That being stated I do see your point. I don't have a lot of melee in the list. Maybe I should go for something more along the lines of this. Guild Crew - 35 - Scrap Sonnia Criid -- 8 Pool Nino Ortega [7ss] Peacekeeper [9ss] Santiago Ortega [7ss] Witchling Stalker [4ss] Witchling Stalker [4ss]
  2. Still in testing with him but I feel he adds a lot to Justice's crew. Lady J is one vicious melee monster and being able to essentially put her wherever I want on the board is very appealing to me. Additionally, I can follow up the next turn by dumping an Executioner into my opponent's crew. Now my opponent has to deal with two very nasty melee threats, both of which are very durable and have the capability to kill their models for attacking them. Plus, Lucius makes excellent use out of Austringers for board control and Guild Hounds for quick objective grabbing. I only play on 3x3 boards and I'm mostly concerned about strategies such as Destroy the Evidence, Plant the Evidence, Treasure Hunt, and Deliver a Message. That being stated Hounds, Watchers, a Peacekeeper, and Wardens once they're released all make good, fast objective grabbers for Guild.
  3. If Lucius is leading a crew he can't take an exorcist but if he's sidekicking for Lady J then you can do it.
  4. Dear Guildmates, I'll be attending a tournament later this month in East Lansing http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=27573. The format will be fixed shared strategies and all players may bring two lists. A player cannot use a list for a second time until they have used both lists once. As such, I'm leaning towards building two fairly well-rounded lists. I'm going to use Lady J/Lucius for one list and I'm leaning towards Criid for my second since she can pump out a lot of blast/magical damage although the Ortega clan is also a possibility. Here's what I'm thinking of using. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Guild Crew - 35 - Scrap Lady Justice -- 8 Pool Student of Conflict [4ss] Lucius [10ss] Executioner [7ss] Guild Austringer [5ss] Guild Austringer [5ss] And... Guild Crew - 35 - Scrap Sonnia Criid -- 8 Pool Francisco Ortega [5ss] Guild Austringer [5ss] Guild Austringer [5ss] Peacekeeper [9ss] Santiago Ortega [7ss]
  5. I've thought about Watchers but my concern there is it'll erode my fire base. Maybe I could try Nino as the fire base with Francisco covering him. That would give me enough points for a Watcher.
  6. I haven't tried it yet but the Exocist seems like a good fit with Lucius. Once Lucius gets him to the center of the board his pitifully slow walk isn't such a big deal.
  7. Hello Guildmates, Out of the 5 core encounters Destroy the Evidence seems like the most difficult one for The Guild to pull off due to the fair amount of mobility required to get the rear evidence counter. I have only played the strategy once and it was Lady J vs. an inexperienced Marcus player that I tabled on turn 4. I've put together a couple of lists that I think ought to do well in the scenario but would greatly appreciate C&C. Hoffman 5 Cache Peacekeeper 9 Guardian 7 Mobile Toolkit 4 Nino 7 Santiago 7 Lady Justice 7 Cache ^ Student of Conflict 4 Lucius 10 Guild Hound 3 Guild Hound 3 Watcher 3 Austringer 5 Austringer 5 In both lists I'm thinking the fire bases will be pulled when Wardens are released but that could be a while so I'm focusing on released models. Thanks for reading!
  8. I really like a large cache with Lady J. I never leave with a cache smaller than 6 and generally prefer 7 or 8 for Red. Being able to pop stones to get the Riposte trigger off is what makes her such a deadly master in my opinion. Killing a minion during it's activation can cause huge tempo swings.
  9. Lucius is where it's at! The ability to get LJ into the fight is priceless. Plus, he works very well with the hounds. Nothing like dropping a fast dog on the treasure counter on turn 1.
  10. Yeah, dgraz is spot on about the totem. I didn't include it with my original list because you wanted to just use what's in the starters. Basically, you're spending two points to get an additional shot or two off with Nino or Sunny or a free charge with a Witching. All in all it is a very nice addition to the crew.
  11. Those two starters compliment each other really well. As others have stated Perdita benefits from a melee presence and Witchlings are awesome melee minions. Plus, they bring an excellent anti-magic aura to the table as well as magical swords. I'd suggest going with this. Perdita 2 Stalkers Nino Santiago 5 Stones
  12. Two have coffins that they stand on and one has a coffin that is part of the model. I'd suggest starting with the FLGS where you bought the starter. They may be willing to swap it out for another one.
  13. Thanks for the reply. Just to clarify if I have severe damage Flame Burst the original target takes 5 and the first blast can be placed two inches away from him? If that is the case then does the initial blast do 4 or 5?
  14. I played Sonnia for the first time last night and really enjoyed her. I do have a couple of questions about her card and I'm hoping my fellow Guildmates can help me out. 1. In addition to adding a tome to her CA does Confiscated Lore bump her CA up to 8? 2. With the Explosive Burst trigger can I place the initial blast marker 2 inches away from the target and if so does the target still take damage? Thanks!
  15. I played Sam for the first time last night and he was a champ. He killed an Ice Golem in a single shot (Flaming Bullets with a - - twist and I pulled weak, weak, red joker, severe). A few turns later he put Rasputina down. That being said he is a huge glass cannon and very situational. He really needs to have a fair bit of protection. I believe he'll only be worth his points in a Criid crew facing a high CA crew that relies on spells for damage.
  16. I'm still very new to the game but this has been my experience too. We have very hard hitting, low cost, models.
  17. That's a nasty list. Were you worried about Lucius' effectiveness if the Austringer went down?
  18. How did you like Justice + Lucius at 25SS? What else did you run with them? Best, Brett
  19. A 4x4 table seems way too big for Malifaux. My FLGS only has 4x4 tables so when we play on them we just adjust so there's a 6 inch frame around the edges. So far that has worked out just fine for us. I have yet to play Lucius but the list looks solid.
  20. Thanks for the advice Calmdown. It is always greatly appreciated. Based on your post I threw the following list together. Guild Crew - 35 - Scrap Lady Justice -- 6 Pool Student of Conflict [4ss] Lucius [10ss] Executioner [7ss] Guild Austringer [5ss] Watcher [3ss] Witchling Stalker [4ss] It has a low model count but Lucius can make great use out of the Austringer, the Executioner is tough as nails once he gets stuck in and the Witchling and Watcher are there for late game objective grabbing and effect clearing. Let me know what you think.
  21. Very subjective follow-up question, is that really a good game plan? Is it wiser to go for broke early on or play a more cautious game with a Guardian backing Lady J up? I'm still pretty new to the game (10-12 matches total) so it is an honest question. That's true. Perhaps bringing the Judge or Executioner too would help get more mileage out of the totem.
  22. Dear Guildmates, I see this combo posted quite often. While the slingshot potential Lucius gives Lady J is quite strong I wonder if the SoC is really worth it. The way I see it you're paying 4 points for a single extra AP then the totem will be out of range. Is there something I'm missing? Please share your experiences with this combo. Thanks!
  23. Thanks for the advice guys. Sadly, the tournament was not well advertised and one of our regulars was out ill so it was me, the TO, and one other player. As a result we scrapped the tournament and just played casual games. The store owner was cool though and gave us all $10 credit for coming out.
  24. I'm actually really growing to like pairing a Witchling with a DM. They cover each other extremely well. Plus, since I usually run Lady J I like running a ton of low SS models to maximize Inspiring Swordplay.
