Just played my first game of 2nd ed and first game in a year. Been Warmachine insanity in my local meta but luckily a friend has also been joesing for some Wyrdness. I'm playing the Ortegas box for now. What can I add/mix in to change up a bit. I own Death Marshalls, Witchlings, The Executioner, and enslaved Nephillim and Sonnia but I'll save her for later. How is Abuela and how about the Lone Marshall? Any input is welcome... Eric J

Well then there was mis or missed communication and if it was from my end you have my apologies. I can have an editorial and several articles in sometime after the weekend... Subjects including; beginner experience, art of malifaux etc... Where is everyone sending articles so you and editorial can see them? Eric J

Talking about the Executioner of course! Who uses him? How do you use him? Is he worth that SS cost? Do you have a minimum game size in which you'll field him? And most important; How does this guy handle bathroom situations?? Eric J

Just one more reason to like Malifaux... Malifaux, introduced to my group very recently is rapidly gaining in popularity, below is one reason why; Me and a buddy John got a few turns in of a Malifaux learning game and we laughed our arses off the whole time. You can't put a price on classic moments like this; John, "Okay, I'm charging you with my zombie Madame. I think I'll attack with her riding crop." Eric, "Eh, I ain't worried, Perdita's got Df 8... Good Luck." John, "EIGHT! DAMMIT!" John reads the Madame's card and laughs like a mental patient, "Dude, she's got a spell called Undress. It lowers your defense by 2... Bwahahahahahaha!!" Eric, "So what are you saying Perdita's a lesbian?" Josh, "Maybe she's just freaked out by rotting breasts..." AWESOME!!!!! In fact me and John laughed the entire time we played.... I know of a couple people in my local meta that I'm sure I can coerce into contributing. One is an incredible artist so maybe along those lines (even a recurring how to article). Another may be right for tactics etc... I'll be doing an editorial and an article "Malifaux-lent Meanderings" each issue as well. If you get a chance surf over to The Ogre Kingdoms site and give the bellower issue 2 or 3 a quick look see. Its small but very popular... So you're posit is that Hamelin IS broken or that he just has certain advantages? Not exactly selling a newcomer to Malifaux on the game... Eric J

The Ortegas are what sealed the deal for me. I started, very recently with the Ortega box set because of my love of everything spaghetti western and also got the Criid set because, well its Sonnia... What will keep you in the game is the complexity of the game that you don't see at the surface and a web community that is one of the best... Eric J

I have the Ortega box and the Sonnia box. My first game was with Sonnia and my next two with the Ortega box. I have 3 games under my belt. While I believe (maybe I'm wrong as I'm so new to the game), that Sonnia will be a more powerful Master I really enjoy Perdita and the whole "For a Few Dollars More" feel to the Ortegas. That having been said I am thinking of switching out a couple of the Ortegas for my 25 point learning games for Witchlings. Perdita stays as does Nino. I'm thinking I like Francisco as he can also scrap it up in melee. The question is do I replace both Santiago and Papa for 2 Witchlings and the Stones or keep 1 of them and just take a single Witchling? I'm not buying any new models until I have a better handle on the game. So far I've faced Gremlins and the Victorias with Ronin... I've done okay with the Perdita box as is... Any suggestions? Eric J
