Hey All -
I am pretty much a complete miniatures newbie. I played my minis game ever, yesterday. It wasn't anything like Malifaux, it was Shako II. It's related to the Napoleonic Wars. I only mention this as I found the premise interesting, and it was rather fun in it's own right. Not particularly my thing though! Something I play if it's there in front of me, you know?
We have a local war game club that allows games of that nature to be accessible, they also do board games and is generally a fun group. They're more into historical stuff, though.
Anyways, needless to say it sort of peaked my interest in miniatures in general, and Malifaux looks like a crazy over the top steampunky-horror-western mish-mash of awesome! I'm not even really sure what to make of it!
I am quite positive this is something I'd love to learn, but it doesn't appear there is much of a player base in Hampton Roads, VA? I looked at the local game stores and this particular minis game seems dormant. Any advice? Normally I'd just show up at a shop and bug people about it, but that doesn't appear to be an option. Unless maybe you're in hiding?
My preliminary interest is learning the game. I kind of get the gist of crew selection, but I'd like to know a bit more about it. What to do, what to do?
