  1. It was. I recorded it as Kidnap but stupidly marked it in the spreadsheet as Reclaim Malifaux. So yes, apologies
  2. Sorry, edited my spreadsheet. The change will appear next round becuase... it's theoretically tomorrow. Well it is tomorrow but with all the M2E shenanigans going on we're extending it slightly. Basically I want to have round 5 finished by the time the beta closes.
  3. All of the round 3 games have now been played and here's the overall picture: Nice to see OldManMyke returning to his natural positioning. Order is being restored No shock to see Stake a Claim, Hold Out, Kill Protege and Bodyguard are still top Misaki has overtaken the Viks as the most popular choice with (Arcanist) Mei Feng and McMourning close behind.
  4. Round 3 is down, here are the classified vassalfaux results: Joel (Misaki – Eye for an Eye, Breakthrough) 7 – 0 Boyzie (Hoffman – Raid Grudge) – Beatdown Leebat (Pandora – Kill Protege, Hold Out) 8 – 0 Razhem (Yan Lo – Stake a Claim, Bodyguard) – Beatdown Azathoth (Kirai – Grudge, Breakthrough) 7 – 3 OldManMyke (Rasputina – Stake a Claim, Power Ritual) – Master of the Hill Tigerstyle (Hamelin – Stake a Claim, Grudge) 6 – 2 AdrianMills (Ramos – Do I Have To Do Everything Myself. Hold Out) – Master of the Hill And here are the tables: League table Strats & schemes: Leaders: Round 4 draw: Razhem vs Azathoth - played OldManMyke vs Leebat - played Joel (cannot use Saving Face, Kill Protégé, Eye for an Eye, Breakthrough) vs Tigerstyle (cannot use Steal Relic, Plague on Malifaux, Stake a Claim, Grudge) Boyzie (cannot use Hold Out, Family Justice, Raid, Grudge) vs AdrianMills (cannot use Bodyguard, Kill Protégé, Do I Have to do Everything Myself, Hold Out) Results to be sent to me in the usual way, good luck all
  5. Standard game is about the same length as a normal Malifaux game. Learning curve on vassal is, assuming you're taught by someone who knows, about half an hour to learn everything you need.
  6. Sure thing, I've sent you a DM to get a few details
  7. Hi, welcome to the UK malifaux community. There are players in most areas of the UK and a great way to find your local players (if you haven't already) is to find your local henchman from this list (however the list is slightly out of date). I'd echo what Adran said about the markers, I started with print outs from that website, laminated them and then passed them on to another player when I purchased some laser cut ones from here
  8. Round 3 is over and here are the results: Ninjahamster (Viks – First Blood, Hold Out) 5 – 4 Station (Lilith – Bodyguard, Stake a Claim) – Beatdown AdrianMills (Lilith – Kidnap, A Mother's Love) 5 – 4 TheJudge (Yan Lo – Bodyguard, Breakthrough) – Treasure Hunt Azathoth (Misaki – Eye for an Eye, Steal Relic) 4 – 3 Gorbad (Colette – Assassinate, Kill Protege) – Beatdown GorillaWizard (BYE) 0 – 0 GuildMonkee (BYE) Table: Strategies and Schemes: Leaders: And the round 4 draw: Gorbad (can't use Hold Out, Sabotage, Assassinate, Kill Protege) v GuildMonkee (can't use Kill Protégé, Hold Out, Assassinate, Sabotage) Ninjahamster (can't use Stake a Claim, Assassinate, First Blood, Hold Out) v TheJudge (can't use Walk with Me, Stake a Claim, Bodyguard, Breakthrough) Azathoth (can't use Stake a Claim, Saving Face, Eye for an Eye, Steal Relic) v Station (can't use Frame for Murder, Grudge, Bodyguard, Stake a Claim) GorillaWizard (can't use Eye for an Eye, Gather Soulstones, Bodyguard, Hold Out) v AdrianMills (can't use Bodyguard, Grudge, Kidnap, A Mother's Love) Games to be played by the first of June, results communicated in usual way.
  9. As a point of clarification, TimH is correct to say that it is spells targeting friendly models regardless of what stat they target (wp, df, ca). As long as there is a resist duel to the spell then a friendly model targeted can choose to tie the duel.
  10. Totally indestructible. They're the Captain Scarlet of Malifaux Assuming they activate first and get use soulstones.
  11. Assuming you mean a Lucius/LJ slingshot turn one then you have either 1 or 2 activations depending upon who wins initiative. Lucius can move 15" up the board using 2 move actions and his casting ap to cast "Issue command" on himself. He'll then place LJ within 3" so assuming she's right at the edge of the 3" it's 15" moved + 3" = 18". Obviously this is assuming there's no terrain in the way and that he can move in just a straight line. LJ will now be sitting there exposed for a single one of your activations so it depends what crew you're using. If it was me using the only resser crew that I use (Molly) then I'd probably either try and tar pit her with Molly herself or possibly Yin, or be looking to paralyze her by focus casting the Shocking Truth or be neutralising LJ's attack flips with Terrible Secret. Other options would be to reveal Philip twice, regain pitiful and become terrifying 14. This isn't directly going to be damaging LJ but your opponent will have to waste stones and/or cards to prevent her falling back and all you need is a crow in you hand for your defensive trigger to shut down onslaught and take no damage. Obviously there are different resser crew who deal with this in different ways. I imagine Nicodem would straight out paralyze her and then throw models into her. McMourning might fancy his luck himself. However I don't use those master so I'm only guessing. LJ has two main things going for her - her greatsword and riposte. She has no wp tricks so target wp. She has no defences against shooting so shoot her. She's not overly quick so try and hide from her and only engage with her when you're ready. If your opponent has hired Lucius and LJ then the chances are they will want a full cache as well. That's 14 stones spent out of their allotment. Use that to your advantage - make her use the stones as quickly as possible and try and chaff her up with some expendable models. I stand by the idea that Lady Justice is not broken. Is she the strongest all round Guild master? In my opinion yes. However Guild, at least in the UK, do not win tournaments. This is because, as with all things in this game, there are always tricks you can use to deal with what your opponent is bringing.
  12. I fail to see pretty much anything in the game that is broken. Sure, Colette is annoying, sure Levi can punch things for 24wds and never (or always) die. Sure Collodi, Chompy, LJ/Lucius are all things. But with enough experience all of those things can be dealt with. It's funny how the more I play, the better I seem to do against these "broken" combinations. Now, where's my Philosophy of Uncertainitying Grave Spirit got to? Oh yeah, instant killing 10ss models every game. I guess he's broken too.
  13. So with a healthy number of sign ups I now feel we're prepared for the start of the beta. Games will be 50ss (as this was the suggested size that Mack and Justin said most of their games are being played at). Games will be played using the shared strategies in the beta and the strategy will be selected at random. Each round's game will be played on the same Vassal map and the first round's game will be played using the Streets of Blood map. Here is the first round draw for when the beta opens: Razhem (Nicodem) vs Tibor (Sonnia) Mephiston (Som'er) vs Mbbelius (Zoraida) Joel (Tara) vs Thingster (McMourning) Dumb Luck (Brewmaster) vs Lemon Construct (Viktorias) OldManMyke (McMourning) vs Gorbad (Pandora) ninjahamster (Mei Feng) vs Daemonkin (Lady Justice) Guildmonkee (Marcus) vs Balefirestorm (Ophelia) TheJudge (Rasputina) vs Azathoth (Leveticus) Oshova (Seamus) vs AdrianMills (Zoraida) leebat (Lilith) vs tumling (Ramos) Sunabe (Jacob Lynch) vs Station (Misaki) Euclid (Perdita) vs scuttlebut Games are to be played by one week after the beta opens and results (strategy, schemes and score) and as much as possible feedback emailed to me. I'll then make one post a week in the feedback section of the forum. Once the one week deadline for games is up then I'll post up the second round of fixtures I'll be emailing all of the entrants with contact details for each of the other entrants and will also email everyone again on the day the beta opens.
  14. Everybody has played their round 3 games and here are the scores: Seregon (Viks – Bodyguard, Hold Out) 3 – 1 Nepalese Ninja (Nicodem – Bodyguard, Army of the Dead) – Beatdown Euclid (finally disovered that's his forum name, not LaundryKing) (McMourning – Bodyguard, Breakthrough) 5 – 4 Psientologist (Mei Feng – Bodyguard, Steal Relic) – Land Grab Barnaberible (Colette – Hold Out, Power Ritual) 5 – 4 Station (Misaki – Breakthrough, Hold Out) – Line in the Sand Nephilim Nate (Hamelin – Stake a Claim, Grudge) 8 – 2 Tumling (taking the place of Leebat who had to drop out) (Kirai – Kill Protege, Frame for Murder) – Line in the Sand Table looks like this: Strats & schemes: Leaders: And the draw for round 4: Seregon (cannot use Stake a Claim, Steal Relic, Bodyguard, Hold Out) vs Psientologist (cannot use Frame for Murder, Eye for an Eye, Bodyguard, Steal Relic) Euclid (cannot use Steal Relic, Frame for Murder, Bodyguard, Breakthrough) vs Nepalese Ninja (cannot use Assassinate, Grudge, Bodyguard, Army of the Dead) Nephilim Nate (cannot use Kill Protégé, Hold Out, Stake a Claim, Grudge) vs Barnaberible (cannot use Stake a Claim, Sabotage, Power Ritual, Hold Out) Tumling (cannot use Grudge, Hold Out, Kill Protege, Frame for Murder) vs Station (cannot use Saving Face, Stake a Claim, Hold Out, Breakthrough) Games are to be played by the first of June and results communicated to me in the usual way. Good luck all
  15. I did read it but we already had tons of questions and didn't want to ask questions about specific models (wherever possible). Plus we tried to ask questions that wouldn't be answered when the beta was released and I think we'll know what Tara's suit combo will be then (if she has one). So yeah, no maliciousness intended (tongue firmly in cheek as well) *grin*
  16. Didn't they say that most of them will, not all of them. For example, I doubt Zoraida will be able to take her starter box when she's used as a gremlin master
  17. Sorry, your reply got lost in my overflowing inbox. Sorted it now
  18. Hopefully all of the sign ups should have received an email from me regarding their allocated master. I've marked off in bold on the main post the people who have responded and these people are now "locked in" to those masters for the beta league. Note: being locked in to a master is nowhere near as kinky as it sounds. Unless it's Marcus and then ooooohhhh yeah
  19. Well you've emailed since the judgement came in and didn't mention it so maybe you should change it to be your forum signature. Much like mine will soon be "You forgot to include in your email what strategy you played in your vassal league game?"
  20. I'll see if I can make something like that happen as I agree it would make the game flow better. However, as far as I know, rule one of beta club is don't acknowledge being in beta club. Obviously the league will only start after the beta opens but I kind of want to get as much in place before then so I only have to press send on an email. I'll see and will email people to gauge their thoughts If anyone reading this in the GMT +/-1 timezones wishes to sign up then you have until Sunday night to do so.
  21. Good idea Dave. Was also considering making it fixed strategy each round too.
  22. Jeez, as if Ressers weren't OP enough as it is... oh wait, I'm bringing ressers *shuts mouth and rewrites hiring pool*
  23. The more I read it the more I agree with Mike's interpretation. Just for the sake of argument however, my original interpretation was that it referred to things with no cost like Electrical Creations and Mindless Zombies. But as Mike pointed out, as they have no cost you could just add as many as you wanted to the pool anyway
  24. I wondered who the 5th person turning up to our Illuminati meetings was
