  1. Thanks. Yeah, this happens when I have an idea and I don't look it up in the book before asking
  2. Heya! Well, after Talk Like A Pirate Day, I started working on a pirate-themed Viks crew (using Black Scorpion and Tale of War minis), and thought it would be fitting to use some Malifaux Rats. Not the best idea, I know, but would that work?
  3. Umm...are you sure that Kaeris can hire the Student? It's not an M&SU Member/Asset...
  4. Sooooo...let's see my month 1 things: Yeah, that's a lot of SMALL things. This month I plan to do altRamos, Electrical Creation, Rusty Alyce(Steampunk Dorothy) and the Steamborg. Oh, and I might even start on a display base for the M&SU (will add Kaeris&crew to that when they come out...)
  5. A question: do we need to re-post pics of the finished things posted earlier?
  6. Thanks, done a tutorial on that, check it out in my log if you wish!
  7. Well, here you go! 3 Mechanical Doves for Colette A small piece of terrain (on the straight edge it will join a mine entrance of some sort) AND finally here comes the brass tutorial promised AGES ago. I recommend this to be the first step in painting the mini, because it can get quite messy. Paints used: VGC Brassy Brass, Bright Bronze, Citadel Devlan Mud Wash, Shining Gold, and a 'verdigris wash' made of VGC Verdigris Glaze, VGC Falcon Turquoise, a little bit of VGC Livery Green and a LOT of water. Step 1. Undercoat your minis. I sprayed them white, but you can do this over a black primer too. Step 2. Paint the brass parts with Brassy Brass(white undercoat) OR drybrush them with Brassy Brass (black undercoat). Step 3. Wash the brass parts with Devlan Mud. Step 4. (meh, forgot to take a pic of this one) Heavy drybrush with Bright Bronze. Step 5. Light drybrush with Shining Gold. Step 6. Wash all the metal areas with (EVEN MORE watered down) verdigris wash, let it dry, and it's done! Now you can paint the other details, including their cute little soulstone eyes This technique is pretty easy, quick (didn't take more than 20 minutes even with taking pictures), and it looks great! That's it for now, see ya later!
  8. Heya! I'm done with something new for the Tale: a trio of Mechanical Doves! They were pretty fun and easy to paint Seems like Dorothy won't be done this month, but I'll finish her in September (possibly in addition to Ramos,Steamborg&Electrical Creation) See ya later!
  9. It's "and/or" in the book, so I guess you can do it with casting both one time
  10. #8881 was completed! YAY! Can't wait 'till I get it!
  11. It's in Hungary, near the castle of Boldogkő. If everything goes well, you'll see some more photos of that place, because we have a "little" project going on there, but that should be a surprise...
  12. That's me. Yeah, another metalhead! And one of my favorite pics, that is a real sick expression And that's my girlfriend next to me, she plays Raspy&Gremlins&Seamus soon
  13. Cool, thanks! Then I'll be able to do the 'counts-as' I wanted
  14. Yeah, I was thinking that too before I heard of Colette's 3-part avatar Now I'm not sure...
  15. Could someone give me some info on the base size for the avatar version Ramos? Is he still on a 30mm one?
  16. Hey there, welcome to the forums! That Taelor looks ace (well, the other ones too, but it might be the best Taelor I've ever seen)!
  17. Yeah, right..I'm gonna get him for my Kaeris crew
  18. The Witchlings were fun to paint too The ones I didn't like...Sonnia (that model is kinda boring, the alt is way better) and Samael, and assembling the Judge...
  19. Am I the only one who loved painting the Marshals? They were really fun to do!
  20. I got: For my girlfriend: Seamus alternate Fate Deck (Green) Various stat cards For my friend: LadyJ alternate Various stat cards For myself: Ramos alternate Steamborg Electrical Creation Flame insert&acccessories (for my future Kaeris crew) Twisting Fates Various stat cards Ordering these took about 6 hours...but at least I'm done
  21. Alright, since the site seems to be in working condition now, I'll show you some of my work Let's start with the Arcanists, copied from the "Tale of..." thread. Steampunk Arachnids Since I don't really like the original sculpt for them, I used something different...Necron Scarabs! I love those cute little buggers There are blue arachnids and a blue swarm, red arachnids and a red swarm, and I'll be adding green arachnids as an extra to the other crew members' bases. Steampunk Arachnid Swarms On the blue one you can see how these little things are made. Ramos summons them? Nah, that's a lie Mobile Toolkit It's kinda the same thing with the arachnids, the original sculpt looks a bit...strange. AND since it can give a :tomes to Ca, I found it fitting to make it actually carry a book. The other one has a toolbox... Rusty Alyce (WIP) Had to find some use for the AUSCON Steampunk Dorothy...yeah, she has no mechanical limbs, but she looks great anyway! I think I'll paint some part of her clothes with rust-like colours 'cause of her name. Oh, and her base is done. Painting Dorothy right now. Oh, and I'm done with three Doves, and a tutorial on painting brass, will be back with that later today. Then, better shots of the Guild crews (now you can actually see them...) LadyJ Sonnia Samael Judge Death Marshals Witchlings You can see back shots of every guild thing in this album. The last thing is a counts-as Convict Gunslinger...he managed to grab the coat of some guild official while escaping That's all for now, see ya sometime later!
  22. Sounds cool! Meh, can't wait 'till my book arrives...
  23. I'm sure you meant "Showgirl" instead of "Hamelin"
