sorry Colette crew still derailing sewer board progress, but at least im getting both done, plan now will be to try and finish both for local tournament at end of august, crew is a must board is a big i hope so. finally finished my first performer, i had painted this fig twice with a colour scheme in mind and i just could not get it to work so shelved the model and worked on the cory and mannequin first while doing them decided i would have two groups of the three figs (cory, mannequin and performer) wearing the same colours. unify the crew and i like it thematically, performer works in the show, the mannequin is a walking dress mannequin and the coryphee is the assassin version of the mannequin, which as people become accustomed to seeing the mannequins around the coryphee could hide in plain sight. im happier with the model than i am with the photos of it, still need to play around with phone a bit see if i can get better ones or tweak them in photoshop. yeah pics could be a lot better, also bases are all getting a spruce up as soon as i find some time.

ahhh so i was wrong on two counts! i should have checked against the gaining ground download. Just bad reading on my part that i thought vp total was going to be used as overall score, that really fixes the issue right there. I guestimated with five factions (and some being more popular the others) that the chance of shared would be higher but being able to control round one over a 3 or 4 event really makes a big dent in those odds. my forum etiqutte's pretty poor, i should have hit you up directly looking forward to tourn, will be in touch for a ticket as soon as i remember

We just had a tourn announced recently here and I just got my hands on the players pack, im really looking forward to the tourn and will play regardless but I just wanted to get an opinion or explanation. According to the players pack TO (organizer) flips faction strats each round, same faction platying same plays shared strat, Vps from each game are totaled for overall score. Now the question doest someone playing with individual strat and two schemes have a greater potential vp score than someone playing shared? Two people individual strats could get an 8 point draw, two guys with shared couldnt? Best they could get is 6 each yes? Essentially one player can get the max at the cost of the other? I'm thinking in terms of one person getting shared for every game vs someone getting all individual, seems much easier to get your own Vps in an 85 min game than fight for them with the other player?

This may sound ridiculous but it started as a joke, I looked at ashes and dust when the we got the rulebook and said they should do that model as the next limited Ed model I would love to see it as the core and hands as partsvu can paint and the cloud part of the model in clear resin that u put together over th core once u paint it! Crazy yes? Would be very hard to do.. I live in hope....

That's awesome!!! I love the corridor effect made by the raised areas! That'll make for some horror tunnel fighting! Great atmosphere for games u get that real claustrophobic feel that is magic, what did u use for the brick pattern on the floor? Five in a week!!!!

Finished first mannequin, basically I'm goin to have one perfomer one mannequin and one coryphee in the same colors and the other trio of models in another uniform set of colors, tried to do them all differently and couldn't make it work.

I went with the card for a couple of reasons, but your right I'm now finding that I would have prefered durability, part if the inspiration for the board was seeing a stack of card tube for free, it super easy to cut and work with (stick pins through) The main reason is the price factor plus how easy it was to throw together greatly affects the odds of me finishing the board!

I don't know if link will work, i work for myself and have two young kids so it a while back I set up the tray of paints and too my stuff to work, I paint my Mali stuff in my lunch break in my van at work!

Holy crap, it's bad enough that those building look so great at the construction level but when you know that there going to be awesomely painted as well, I can't wait to see the finished product but just as happy to follow as it goes! Is there a completion date goal? A con or anything? ( like u need any pressure)

I got lucky there, I prefer the more exaggerated less realistic stuff! You'l have to find an alternative, 'now you see it' is like a get of jail free spell! I keep one by Colette just to compensate for tactical errors

PROGRESS! WOO! really productive couple of days, first i did some more constuction work, few thing things on the board got some basic level stuff done but the ones worth showing are the super mario pipe and i finally tried out an idea i had for making a basic grill, or barred end for a half pipe which is in the unfinished corner of the board really basic, but with the right paint job and some water oozing through it, it should look good, i have a lot of these to do! iv been hanging out to do wooden barrels and crates to put all around the board. both to add cover and clutter to play around but in my head i thought wooden barrels and crates would bring the board back to the right feel for malifaux? anyway i was trying to think of a way to make the barrels myself, but i found some for a great price, they where prepainted but a quick drybrush and repaint and im really happy with them. prefinish on the left, bit dark and i dont use metal so it stood out a lot, middle one quick drybrush, on the right quick brush over the trim! i did 21 last night! cant wait to get them onto the board but they make it look like its lacking in detail, i have to get onto detailing some of the areas next so i can stick the barrels down. finally the finished mario pipe, been trying to think of a way to incorporate a pirhana plant and iv got a plan, i'l try make it tonight and get a pic up soon, think the pipe will make a great claim jump obj marker (its not 30mm!) its actually pretty big it matches the pipes of the board not the scale of the figs.. more pics soon

That looks great! Love the stairs done to suit the 30mm base great for gaming on and the building still looks magic, will follow this with interest

Agreed the uniform look looks great, the grey contrasted against perditas lighter clothes and skin gives the crew a great look, keep it up!

sorry to derail my own topic, i'm getting back onto the gaming table this weekend i swear! in the meantime here is my mech doves, both these and the coryphee (and a showgirl) all got paintstripped (at least once!) took me few goes before i was happy with them. working on table tonight!

Iv just been painting these, I cannot get over how shallow and fine the detail on the actual body parts of the mannequin and coryphee is! The tiny bolts/ sunken rivets are super tiny, I paint stripped mine and start all over because I was too heavy with the paint the first time, if you haven't painted for a while you did well!

Havent used this part of the forum yet so forgive me if this has been asked and answered. Have repeatedly had an issue with resist spells being cast on a model in melee,or on a model the caster is in melee with. before the rules manual we had a summary sheet which I thought had 'spells while in melee can't be cast unless melee ranged' I can't find this in the rules manual. Under spell basics it says 'spells with a (melee icon) or (gun icon) in there Rg are melee and ranged attack spells respectively and follow the targeting rules for those attacks. ' a model casting a spell with ( melee icon) or (gun icon) in it's Rg, or one that requires a resist duel is casting an attack spell' So the resist is neither? But the resist ignores all the melee rules? It can be fired into a four person melee provided you have Los and from

Definately, couldnt get the imagery out of my head of colourful dresses on dull sewer bases first time using pre-made bases, they are fantastic!

my excuse for lack of progress on the plus side i finally have a decent phone to take photos with so that will hopefully get me back onto the board! The bands around the pipes where a suggestion from a friend of mine, they are thick elastic bands, i cut them so they become a strip of elastic then put a drop of superglue to hold the starting point in place (usually as far under the pipe as i can) then stick dressmaking pins through the elastic and they cardboard tube trying to keep them even and straight down the centre of the elastic. this will result in a sore finger iv gone through about 200 at this point, i use a file or something similar for the intial push
