  1. Hey Wolfguy, are you Mike, Rick, or someone else? I'm trying to recall what game youre talking about.
  2. Phase One, Lure Nekima five times. Phase two.... Phase three profit.
  3. I support the rush them mentality. It's not perfect, but it eliminates the biggest power of lure which is being able to threaten while not being threatened.
  4. Why is this NOT the place to make suggestions? Because no errata is slated yet means we cannot discuss ideas? THOUGHT POLICE! HELP! JKJK ;D
  5. Ahhh poop. As a resser master, this ability is much less desirable. But, that makes sense. Perhaps I read it the way I wanted it to be
  6. I just think there needs to be some counter or cost to the effectiveness of Bells. And the real issue here is the NPE. Ca 8 and spammed makes people unhappy. lol I feel like ressers have more NPE than most other factions and they aren't even OP! Seamus for example, his back alley and focus shoot a model dead turn one. It's not broken, it's just kind of unfun to deal with time and time again with little ways to counter it. But, I digress, this is about Bells.
  7. Hi all, So, I've seen it said, perhaps in the errata, that if Tara has no cards in hand she can still use her fast giving pulse because it is an effect not a cost. So, if she has cards in hand, does she have to discard them if she doesn't want to? It seems that as it is an effect and it doesn't say must, it looks likes I can use the ability without having to discard anything. Thoughts?
  8. I certainly would think not. Come to think of it, excluding a few Guild models, I can't recall any.
  9. I think the no healing is a bit much. But remember it is a condition and can be removed in many ways. I agree that Levi vs. Hanged is silly in respects to power. But, I think Levi got over worked in PT and now he's... idk meh I guess.
  10. As the guy who ran the four bells and tara I can give an wee update Turn 1: I lured and killed a witchling. Even with all dat terrain, he couldn't hide ALL his models from my Bells. Plus Tara gave two the Bells fast so they could walk up and get double lures off. Keep in mind this was turf war, so my opponent had to hang way back and seek out cover while I just move up a little, close enough to easily start scoring turn two. He on the other hand had to be very careful where he stepped. Turn 2: I lured and killed two witchilng with two bells and two convicts. Lady jay and her student got a sneaky bit of fast off and she made a hit n' run that silenced at least one bell. Turn 3: Lady Jay charges into another bell and kills it. My 2nd bell lures the rogue necro towards here and then lures her, triggers smell fear and he gets a bite. Fransico wanted to give Lady J her stat buffs but she had been lured away. The Guild Exorsist did a little damage to a bell before being lured up by one and into combat range of a convict gunslinger then killed. Necromancy and Tara finished off lady J. Turn 4: Fransico tried to run off but got lured back and finished off. My opponent never caught a break no matter what he did. Bells everywhere, getting fast, luring with an irresistible cb 8. I felt dirty ;D
  11. 1764 Words Updated: Changed a lot of stuff around. Wasn't happy yet with it.
  12. Show of hands, who here has actually played with and against Bell spam? Spam = at least > 4 Bells
  13. It only take one! One Bell with Los and within 18" of your model sitting on Protect Territory marker and bam! You just lost to a single bell on teh other side of the table.
  14. I would but I don't care for vassal. Come to Adepticon if you can, we can play a live game.
  15. You coming down to Adepticon Ratty? If you are I say we take this to the table. It's the only way.
  16. How many bells do you think we are playing with?
  17. They bells are working towards the same objectives you are... so let's just make sure that no table has an objective that isn't behind a wall or in terrain? Good luck with that bro Or hope that the bells are not going towards the same turf marker you are, or whatever. Cool I can beat bells by making sure my opponents are all really bad at the game. WOot! I'm playing with newbies only from now on!
  18. So, what you are saying is, to counter Bells, just table your opponent? Cause there is no way late game he won't have one or two just lying around.
  19. Why do you keep going back to the terrain? You think late game when you're sitting on a squatters marker or a protect territory or a turf war marker, that a bell won't have some kind of LoS to you? We're talking about Bell spam with Ca 8 here. Some one will have LoS, you will get lured, you will not be the lure, you will be pulled off the objective and you will lose. Because, it's not a duel you can beat. I just cannot fathom what it is about a spammable Ca 8 that some poeple don't get. I see a lot of attempts to justify this stat line with terrain or hard counters, or whatever. But, nobody can tell me why a 5 stone model as access to an ability that long ranged, that has that good of a movement effect, that has that high of a cast and, worst of all, can easily be spammed by five or six models. You only need to hire 4 to make it work, and most rezzers have some means of summonign more bells.
  20. I'm sorry but terrain cannot be the blanket here. Not everyone has all the correct terrain, not every community has enough terrain, not every tournament will have perfect terrain. Terrain is an extremely subjectives concept and cannot be used to 'fix' objective game elements. Ca 8 is a problem, hell even if you don't get lured turn 1 and lose models right away. You cannot avoid it late game either. Turn 5 when you're sitting on your objective and there is a Bell sitting around. One lure and your out of VP against an ability you had no hope to win.
  21. Lovely board, but I see nothing that would stop bells from getting you turn one. Each of those has many long lanes right down the middle of the board and are very wide. Unless you plan on hiding behind those back buildings or forests the whole game. Then sure, you'll never get lured... or... you know... play the game...
  22. If you'll look at the tournaments reports that SharpObjects has posted you'll see pictures of our tables and know that they are within the 30% board coverage that the rule book recommends. You'll see that even with sufficent terrain, Bells in mass can accomplish what they need to without difficulty.
  23. So the responce to a model with an unreasonable stat is to make sure that the table has enough terrain to negate the lure. So put down as much terrain as you can so that it stops any lanes of site from across the board. Got it, I'll be waiting for the Guild thread to start that complains there's too much terrain on the board for thier shooting crews. Consider this: From Deployment : Models are deployed up to the 6 in line. Leaving only 24" of space between you and your opponent. First few activations, assuming both players have the activations to waste before the luring begins. Unless your opponent makes a mistake and activates his important models and walks him up as far as he goes. First Bell Lure twice then companions for another two lures. Assuming you have an avarage walk of 4/5, your model just moved 16" to 20", if they have Sybill then 24" / 28". In any case, your model is between 8" and 0" away. That was only two Bells that activated. You are close enough to abuse. Make one, JUST ONE, little LoS error with your good models and you'll be punished by losing it turn one, which also assumes you have as much terrain as Ratty seems to play with.
