  1. And a second sponsor on board in the shape of Ainsty Castings, who will also have a stand at the show so you can check out their full range of terrain.
  2. We're about 4 weeks out from the event now, so I'm pulling together prizes. We have our first sponsor on board in the shape of bendyboards.co.uk who will be doing a custom Informant marker for the event which every player will get, ideal for the Extraction strategy. I'm hoping more sponsors will come on board in the coming weeks.
  3. I'm going to be running an acheivement league using Rapid Growth. This will start in January at York Garrison Wargaming Club. Full details: http://www.yorkgarrison.co.uk/index.php/forum7?view=topic&catid=38&id=9740#15508
  4. It'll probably be post Vappa, so earlier Feb. My brain can only handle one tournament prep at a time
  5. The rulespack has been updated now Gaining Grounds 2015 has been released, I've updated the link of the first page which hopefully should work (please let me know if not).
  6. You can get the tickets from the online store: http://www.the-grid.co.uk/index.php/store#!/Malifaux-Down-in-the-bayou-04-01-15/p/44818015/category=9088662
  7. The Drop Pod ticket, does that include entry into one tournament per day or just one tournament?
  8. I have a full wife pass, so I'm in for this and I think some more from York will be. How do we buy tickets?
  9. Well, with the GT out of the way, time to start thinking about Vappa... Couple of things: 1- In order to produce a clearer result, as outlined above, this will basically be 2 x 28 player tournaments running simultaneously. At the moment I'm calling these the "Lilith League" and the "The Dreamer Division". There will be an updated rulespack to reflect this change (and possibly other changes) at some point in the next couple of weeks. 2- If you're not coming but would like to, there is already a small reserves list but I can add you on. 3- Lunch is provided, it's usually sandwiches, crisps, can, chocolate etc. If you have any dietary requirements (James Doxey and Stuart Cain I already have yours as usual) then please let me know and I will raise it with the Vappa event team. Chris
  10. The photos are in @geekphotoguy feed. I was tweeting table platings and results and you can find me @tigerstyle_mfx. Great event . Knackered now.
  11. So for Friday night, Shane reckons your best bet is to head to Micklegate in town as there's loads of places down there (there's generally no shortage of pubs in York). That's pretty close to the Brewery in fact for Saturday. The Brewery runs a few pubs in town as well you could try (http://www.york-brewery.co.uk/Pubs). Gaming wise I'm not sure where you'll find space on a Friday night really. Pretty sure Travelling Man runs Friday Night Magic at Lendall Cellars in town if you're inclined towards MtG but not sure where else to suggest.
  12. On the first: I don't live in York, so I can't suggest anywhere with first hand experience (though there's tons of pubs in York) but I will ask Shane to suggest somewhere as he knows pubs On the second: there's a cafe on site, I'm checking whether they're doing bacon sandwiches they usually do with tournaments. Failing that there's BK/KFC/McD/Tesco's about 5 mins drive away, or a corner shop about 200 yards away.
  13. It's actually 2 rooms, the bar bit then an arch through to another room. To my knowledge, there isn't any parking at the venue, but you might be able to park on the street. There is parking at the station, and there's an NCP by the station which is just the other side of he city walls.
  14. One week left... Just a reminder: If you're planning on bringing games along, try and choose games on the slightly smaller side rather than anything that needs tons of space. The taproom isn't massive.
  15. I don't see a reason why this would be required? Have I missed something? Non-Wyrd decks are generally easier to read than say the Wyrd Puppet or EBO deck.
  16. Wouldn't this just be Mike saying "Greg, Greg, Greg" over and over again
  17. Might take you up on that mate, we're planning on starting setup around 0700. I'll let you know
  18. Refreshment arrangements for the event: We'll have free tea and coffee both mornings (plus the usual cafe all day), then the bar will be open at the Folk Hall, definitely on Saturday, possibly on Sunday.
  19. You just fill out a form, but it costs £18 so unless you think you can drink £180 worth of beer, it's probably not worth it We can just do what Rob says and use my card where possible.
  20. Ok we are locked in for tickets now, thanks to everyone who has bought one. I'm ratty sure between a load of beer, a Buffett and 60 of the nicest gamers on the planet this should be a good do . Looking forward to it already. York Brewery members get 10% discount at the bar! and guess who is already a member? Will have my membership card in hand
  21. Just to bump this: If you've not already indicated a special dietary requirement to me, then please do so before Monday (13th) so I can confirm it with the caterers.
  22. Final reminder: If you want to attend this event, today is the deadline. I need your ticket money before 3pm.
  23. GT players: if you have any special dietary requirements for the lunches then please would you let me know (PM me or on Twitter @tigerstyle_mfx) so I can make the lunch time caterers aware. "I only eat steak and lobster and drink Cristal champagne" don't count as a special requirement
