  1. Ah. That seems to have taken care of it. Shoot. I thought maybe they relented.
  2. Curious if they errata’d the errata or if my app did not fully load the new card. The changes to PEG and MMPB are there on Som’er, but B2C did not change. The card has the April 2021 Errata stamp.
  3. To add to that, will Burt be unable to work with any of the Tri-Chi crew?
  4. Hmm... Zoraida + Nurse + Francois = a 7 point model with a potential 6/8/12 damage spread. Now, I am by no means an expert (I have fewer than a dozen games under my belt), but that sounds... A) fun as hell, dangerous to practically any model in the game and C) fun as hell. Even taking half damage, he can deal 18 damage in a turn and have 1 hp left over, or, hell, deal 22 and kill himself (provided the cards obey). Optimal? Probably not. Refer to points A and C.
  5. Don't get me wrong, my opponent is a friend and not someone trying to abuse a rules loophole. We just honestly couldn't resolve the problem and figured if it wasn't meant to be kept secret it would say so. We're both longtime warmachine players and accustomed to competitive play and very explicit rules. Wyrd has done well to address the "foggy" rules of the first version of the rulebook, but it can still be difficult to figure some things out. I suppose if there's no official ruling I'll just have to put up with it for the time being. It's not like I couldn't see his hand at the time (we were using little card holder-uppers), it was more rhetorical than practical. What I'd be more concerned about would be "that guy" who acts belligerent about it and flat-out refuses to show me his hand. I'm sure we can work it out between the two of us.
  6. My opponent and I ran into this problem in last night's game, and I couldn't find an answer by searching these forums. Is the number of cards in your control hand supposed to be public knowledge? He argued that, since certain things are called out as being public knowledge (i.e. model stats, the top card of your discard pile) and the number of cards in your control hand was specifically not, that he did not have to tell me how many cards he had in his hand. My thoughts on the matter are that that interpretation allows much more room for cheating, as we now have no accountability except our own honor to have the correct number of cards in our control hands. It only came up because I was playing Som'er and wanted to drain his hand via "a Gremlin's Luck". We referenced the rules, couldn't come up with a definitive answer, and flipped for it. He won the flip, so for that game we determined that it was okay to keep this information from each other. He's a cool guy and I didn't have a problem with this, because in my reading of the rules he is technically correct, however I feel that this runs contrary to the spirit of the game. Any answer would definitely help!
  7. Well, back when I was even newer to the game, I really liked the look of Hans the sniper. His stats are pretty blah and fixing him seems to be discussed to death; that's not really the point. What I like is the Head Shot trigger. I imagined using it in conjunction with Som'er's ability to drain your opponent's hand of control cards, so that if you hit and get the trigger, your opponent has no choice but to die (or shed soul stones). The only way to put the two together was in a Som'er/Viks list, or Zoraida/Som'er list. I like the bayou theme and Zoraida fits it, and I realized that she can cast a spell on Hans to let him ignore his own talent that says he can't move and shoot his rifle or target more than 1 enemy model with it. That in conjunction with the Obey spell means he could target up to 3 different models a turn, effectively a third or a half of an opponent's army. Of course, pulling this off requires having a hand full of high crows, so I thought if I could bypass that last requirement I might have a good thing going for me. That's the hairbrained idea.
  8. Hmm... I suppose I could broaden the question to include any spell or ability that would allow a model to pick a suit for a given flip, or for their combat score.
  9. Is there a Neverborn minion, or more specifically, any minion availible to Zoraida, who can grant +:crows to a model's combat? I'm pretty green, both in terms of experience and faction (gremlin guy), and so far I've encountered scant few models in any faction with such an ability. I'm looking to expand my bayou forces with Zoraida and her swamp things, and I have a hairbrained idea I'd like to try. Any help would be appreciated!
  10. I just picked up a Som'er box and an Ophelia box, along with the slop haulers. The slop haulers look excellent on paper by shoring up many of the Gremlins' weaknesses, mainly by being able to heal multiple allies (since they'll be taking damage from dumb luck and summoning etc,) and their ability to do the slop spray and reduce enemy defenses to 4 with no resist. Has anyone tried the slop spray tricks to allow your gremlins to hit more accurately? I'm thinking Slop spray with one, then toss slop with another (more likely to hit), granting +1 Cb to all gremlins attacking that model, for a net effect of reducing Df to 3. As I haven't any play experience, my questions are: A) is this realistic, and is this even necessary, especially given the higher accuracy of the Kin?
  11. Thanks for the replies. I like the Viktorias and the Ronin, and I was debating between going that route or the Som'er Route and thought it weird that none of the Outcast masters could work together. Seemed like it kind of hamstrung the faction. Anyway, does anyone know how to update the cards, or where to find the PDF of the updated cards?
  12. So, I've had an eye on these forums for a month or so now, and I just decided to jump in with a Som'er Jones box set last night. I have a pretty good handle on the rules, but I have a few questions right off the bat. My searches didn't yield the answers that I seek, hence this post. 1) I've heard that Som'er can't work with the Viktorias. Can someone explain why, exactly, or indicate the ruling that states this? It doesn't make sense to me, based on reading their rules. 2) I know that the stat cards I got with my box are probably outdated, since I saw the latest version PDF's on this forum somewhere (but, for the life of me, I can't find them again). What is the process for getting the up-to-date replacement cards, or can someone point me to the PDFs? Thanks in advance.
