Got another idea. Basically same thing, but do a heal every turn (even if it's going to be reduced to 1 at the end) and then just turn the destroyed spider into a steampunk abomination. This way, Ramos isn't sitting at one, and still getting 2 new guys the first two turns. Yes, there is the risk of the first activation on turn 3, as Ramos would have to live through that. This would also give me the option to heal two times on turn 3, make 2 steampunk aboms, to make a desolation engine if that's the way I wanted to go

actually i was more curious about what things could attack Ramos hiding far, far away behind a building, w/in the first 2 turns. I'm actually curious to what you are referencing now as well. I don't quite understand what you are saying about killing Ramos either.

So I'm sitting here waiting for my models to arrive so I can finally give this game a whirl, but here is the list I want to try. Any advice welcome. 30 SS list Ramos Toolkit Rusty Alyce 5 Steampunk Arachnids 4 Soulstones Basically the plan is to pump out 2 spiders first turn and an electrical creation first turn. Then the next turn make 2 more, but pop one to heal Ramos a bit, (if there are threats) and then have Alyce make a Steampunk Abomination. Since Ramos is at one wound, as soon as people get close enough, I won't use alyces reactivation spell on him, and have him create another spider, pop it to heal himself, and have her make another Steampunk Abom + shoot at whatever's there. Just seems that this could be really good (especially at lower pt levels) the whole adding 12 pts worth of models in two turns thing that is. Also, what kind of things could get to Ramos behind a building in one turn or two turns? This would be key to know lol. Thanks for the advice!

So, I just bought book 1 yesterday, and haven't seen book 2 yet. I've watched some battle reports, and skimmed the book, and read a few threads, just to give you background on how little I know. Anyhow, after seeing Ramus, and getting the images in my head of tons of little spiders jumping on faces, I knew he was the guy for me. After a little bit of brainstorming I was thinking of a list something like the following: 35 pts Ramos Desolation Engine Toolkit (not sure on pt value from previous discussion here but assuming same as other totems) Arachnid Swarm Arachnid x 3 4 Soulstones Basic idea is to sit back having Ramos be an arachnid factory and if possible turtle my force behind some buildings. Make them come to me as I pump out spiders. That way I don't have to keep wounding DE running him around. I do see the issue of the scenarios that force me to run up to engage, but I am wondering how many of them percentage wise require this? I also haven't seen too much about how DE runs w/ Ramus. I'm sure there are things that I'm not seeing. I plan on getting the other Ramus regulars as well, I was just curious about how people think this list might play, and what potential problems would come from bringing a DE.
