Just found Heroquest in a thrift store for $3!!! Been wanting to play this with my son for quite a while now. Only problem is that this edition is in French, so I'm hunting around looking for English rules/cards. If anyone can help me source these, please PM me. Edit: Found it all within minutes. Soooooo tempting... Weird, I could have sworn I'd typed "and probably closer to 3" up above, must be getting old! I actually think that art and artists are undervalued in general. I remember being in an art gallery a few years ago when some idiot grumbled that $700 (Cdn) was a ridiculous amount for a painting. The artist heard him and pointed out that the picture represented 2 weeks of his full-time work. Work that had to feed his kids or he'd end up having to work in an office again. The guy changed his mind about the value pretty quickly!

Does anyone ever wonder which country has the best players? We see prominent posters from different areas disagreeing about the best way to use a certain model or play a crew, and I'm always curious to see who plays those models "most bestest." Nowadays we do have Vassal as a way for players from around the world to play games together, but it isn't quite the same as getting models on the table. Basically, I'm asking if there would be any interest in chipping money into a pot to assist winners of big tournaments around the world to go to Gen Con as a representative of their country. Maybe there could even be a "tax" of 1 dollar/pound/your local currency for events throughout the year that could be collected for the overall winner's flight/expenses. I was primarily thinking of a tournament like the UK masters, since they seem to be a fairly organised bunch. I'm not sure how developed the tournament scene is in other countries, since I hear about it less, but there could be similar schemes in different areas. I'd throw 5 bucks in out of curiosity. Anyone else?

I know that there is a metal and resin version of avatar Hoffman that never saw the light of day. Be cool if Wyrd put that up as a direct sales only offer on the store, kind of like the PP extreme sculpts. Metal Carver could fit in that category too!

Man, I figured you weren't bidding because you put it up on here. Feel a little guilty now. Weird thing is that I'm now glad my dragon didn't come out right, since it meant that I never got around to assembling and painting the Sonnia that goes with it. She can be mounted on this instead now.

Cheers, I had a feeling that whoever else was bidding would be on the forums. Half expected it to reach NLCB price, but obviously glad it didn't. Getting it painted before posting would have a 6 month delay due to the seller having other commitments. Also, the quoted fee, while very reasonable considering the quality of the paintjob and what I'm assuming is at least a full day's labour for a professional, is high enough that I would be absolutely terrified of chips and breakage during international shipping. That said, I wasn't happy with my own attempt at painting the regular model, so I'll probably get a friend of mine to do this one for me. I'm nearly always highly impressed with his paintjobs. And yeah, I promise some pics!
