I haven't actually. Though if i was actually playing a competative game I would just pull out any of my neverborn and steamroll them ; D I try not to ever do that though. I'm actually a arcanisy at heart and live that faction. I just wish they were all as intuitive as the showgirls, but they are far from it

this is all personal opinion ...your fine with any faction, except the arcanists. They are probably the weakest faction in my opinion. Collette is by far their best performer and is amazing at everything. although its a really good begginer faction if you can pick the models up secondhand. I would tell you to play by faction because, that's how tournaments are run .Iif you buy box sets of masters in the same faciton, there tends to be alot of overlap and you can use all your models and will save quite a bit of money if you can get a good discount on the box sets. The best deal for your money is buying all the box sets of a faction and then buying models that you really want that don't come in box sets.

I like your list a lot. Buy some night terrors for the sole purpose of objective grabbing

The way wyrd is putting off this revision , it's like they are scared of selling the nekima model.

you really have to base your crew off what strategy and schemes your playing. there is little to no reason to include night terrors in some marcus games... depending on what your trying to do. you just need to become familiar with all of marcus's tools in his toolbox, and then try to become competent in picking out the best ones for the right situation.

I think if they ever revised nekima, I would buy a second one just to have two.

The factions are getting more and more of each other's qualities with each book, so you can probably just pick any faction. Though remember to fill out several master's within a faction, it's always a good deal to buy starter boxes. Most of the stuff you get in them can overlap with each master. Though most would say neverborn fit's your style, as it does many peoples.

I think I would be satisfied with tweaks to models, as long as they had a faster turn around time. Lets say avatars get fixed eventually down the road. What about worthless models which may or may not look amazing, but hardly ever get played because it can be frustrating to play with subpar models. Steamborg executioner, mercenary hamelin, Hans, Molly. Razorspine rattler. Wendigo. There are just a ton super old, worthless models just floating around they can easily pay me a starter box of the dreamer to rewrite rules for them all. Then turn around and raise sales. To me that says wyrd is getting lax and doesn't care about improving the state of the game for everyone. Look how long it took to get hamelin changed... Is it really that long of a turn around time? Plenty of very loud and vocal , local , and internet voices are saying these things that need to happen. I think malifaux is the greatest skirmish level tabletop game out there. Can it be better? hell yeah it can.

I think once Nathan caroland posted that the forum users were a very small minority of those who purchased malifaux models. i can say that of the 20-30 people I know that own malifaux, maybe 3 use the forums including me. Also this post will probably hit over 100 replies and it sure isn't all people talking about how great avatars are. What i was trying to say is , wyrd should shoot for 100%, not the crap they gave us who don't play sonnia,ramos, zoraida. I play zoraida and can afford to buy her and its still not worth it to me. Plus her model bores me, but thats personal.

The thing is we are pretty much just saying the same thing over and over . Some people are like omg they are bad, then others are saying its just a lateral shift etc. The point is alot of people think they suck. it doesn't matter if 30% to 60% of people like the avatars and own one or two. It should be 100% and people buying 3 or 4 of them. Probably the same amount that wanted hamelin needed and nekima changed.

Molly has so much potential, if only crooligans and rogue necromancy were better. Wyrd really needs somebody like me to have the final say on rules for miniatures, that actually plays every miniature game out there , including malifaux.

Marcus and night terrors are a damn good combination. Marcus can easily make use of a shikome and sabretooth cats. Also you need to pretty much always use wild heart to its greatest effect. It's nothing to get +2 damage and free charge every turn. A solid tip i've learned to use with free or 1 action charges, is that you only have to be able to see a target to declare a charge on it, then you get all that movement for free. So you can move quite a distance and really smack the **** out of something.

my favorite is my showgirls crew. I play lilith, pandora, zoraida. kaeris, marcus.Mcmourning, vickies. I own ramos and molly but don't use them. I think that might account for everyone. Now they have cuddled the dreamer alittle, I will probably pick him up. I want collodi too.

I would pay 40 dollars all day for a model that is amazing like nekima or one or two of the avatars i've seen. They just have to be competative, worth 2 soulstones, and not cuddle my master.

What I think me and fetid are saying, is that would be great in theory. But playing with avatar marcus, he is just straight up weaker than non avatar marcus. Same with many of the other avatars. It's a great investment for 2 soulstones. Were just saying alot of the avatars even when they change to meet a different situation are so weak, boring, or ineffective. It's not really even worth doing if it didn't cost two soulstones.

still some consideration or attention has to give given to anything that is said by a large amount of people. Nearly every malifaux player I've talked to locally has atleast partially agreed with my sentiment. Also Ive seen the argument online plenty of times. If avatars were free though, a large amount of people still would never include lilith, marcus, pandora, rasputina, or many other avatars from what i've heard

I completely agree with you fetid strumpet. I like your thinking, but I would even go a step further and try to move atleast every master in the same category as nicodem and sonnia. I would love to use simulacrum 29 and several other avatars more often. It just seems like most of the masters I play fall into that category of "and then the rest". why would I trade lilith for her avatar at all if i'm not setting my crew up for that sort of thing. Marcus's avatar straight up needs a rewrite or give him that wild heart ability his normal form has. think you hit the nail on the head for the most part, just figuring out a viable solution is the hard part.

Well every avatar might be fun and interesting to play, much like I said earlier it's all personal taste. On the other hand, nobody in my mind atleast, can argue with the brutal efficacy that models like coryphee and stitched together bring to the game. When I wanna win, my personal tastes are reliability and effectiveness at a given task. For me alot of avatars just don't have that, except I guess like ramos and sonnia. if that's what your into >> (not me personally)

The thing with tina's avatar is that it's not really that easy to control when you change and all that. And I thought of that viewpoint too, except My brain immediately went to the other powerhouse autoincludes that seem to be in every crew. Every crew has several models that if you don't use competatively, it's autoloss. Off the top of my head i'm thinking like, rotten belles, coryphee, stitched togethers. they are for sure out there. Also looking under my desk for more essential models, I realize I have a marcus avatar that I forgot I even owned. would probably sell him for 5$ or a few beers. You might be right about sonnia, ramos, and seamus. I've seen people use Aseamus, ramos, and sonnia. Which I think personally, is just great for the game and wyrd. On the other hand when I see those crews, and the avatar, typically if i'm not playing a buddy of mine orsomeone that is just trying to push some models around.. i'm not worried about losing anyways.

First off let me point out this is personal opinion and food for thought. I think they really shot themselves in the foot with the avatars.... I mean, 90% are just like nekima, really awesome looking, but not very competative or even as exciting to as they should be to use the ultimate incarnation of that master's power. sold my rasputina crew the day I bought that book, since her avatar seemed terrible. Out of the 5-10 malifaux crews I have, don't own a single avatar. They are all terrible to me. Maybe i'm just one of those players whose brain immediately wants to play things that give me useful tool when I play against other people. I can totally understand throwing down with a noob or a friend and bringing out this awesome model and not completely crushing your friend. It's taken quite a long time, but I finally can enjoy a game like that. BUT..... BUT..... on the other hand, when I sit across from a guy like myself that wants to think about the game and is excited to win, takes the game seriously etc. I wanna use that same awesome model to the utmost brutal efficacy possible. And avatars for the most part just don't cut it. Thoughts? I say while your changing nekima and hamelin. Just go ahead and redo every damn avatar, except for maybe like zoraida. I've heard she is good.

I was thinking about getting the Dark debt's crew But the hungering darkness and the guy with claws for hands just look funny to me. But I love the other three models. Do they work well with older stuff?

But what model in the book would you suggest I look at to change my mind?
