  1. Yea this game is fairly intuitive, but has a lot complexity (is that an oxymoron? ). When trying to look for explorations which do exist you can see a lot of things that don't exist. I make the mistake all the time. Also the rules might not have been written by English majors, I think for how complex it is they have done a darn good job. Best advice go off what you feel intent is.
  2. Wow I didn't find it complicated at all. Way to overthink . Simply totems are manifestations of masters will and affinities and can cast there spells but they are weaker.
  3. To answer documentation? Read the rule, it states cast of the master's 1 spell, the subject is totem not master.
  4. Incorrect, you are casting the spell as if it was written on the totems card.
  5. +1 keep in mind this a great counter to a devastating spell from an awesome henchwoman. Much like stitched fog blocks hunter. Given that Kaeris can devastate kirai crew especially paired with rapsy, that kirai's strongest hitter has some natural protection. This will make m be more cautious when playing against kirai with Kaeris in a crew.
  6. Small spiders in my opinion are one the best minions with Ramos, their versatility is awesome. Activation control with swarm no swarm. They are fairly tough with self repair in swarm, armor, and when separate def 6. They can blow up themselves for a pulse or Ramos and Kaeris can blow them up. Add Kaeris and these buggers are even better because of her blow up ability. Speed is decent with arachnid better with avatar. Ramos is going to summon them and this makes then even harder to wipe off. Swarm has a paralyze trigger, which isn't to hard to use since it likely be the only one looking for high crow. I get this off at least once a game, and that can be a game changer. Now to make significant they are poor choice because of cost but that is Ramos's problem with crew selection until union miners. Just a small list for small spiders. I agree lspa you don't need to be hired, or at least not 2. Electrical creation is amazing, it doesn't cost you anything in when in dies in slaughter. It can move through anything. It is going to cause a wd and it will prevent turtling around it. Miner is best used by causing two wounds to get melee master then bury, with scout and 8" move this guy is crazy scary. Since you can bury over and over again and still keep melee master makes this guy really dangerous. I like to keep him in back get some stones, heal him and use his melee master later when I avatar. Keep in mind I advocate avatar Ramos does fine manifesting later and doesn't need a toolkit, so I tend to manifest turn 3-4. Also if I want to avatar on turn 2 I take toolkit and Alice this means I get 2 activations and still manifest all on turn 2.
  7. Sonia list you forfeit a stone. I would suggest an avatar or totem. Also be careful to not take too many high point models. The loss of one can be devastating.

  9. Also v2 knock aside on steamborg says charge another model on range, so you cam charge anything, if it doesn't end on range of a melee strike, the action ends. Think he was quoting a v1 ability.
  10. One thing I want to touch on first before other feedback, can't have arcane effigy and ss miner, or lasp hired in your crew together. They are two different special forces. You can still summon an lasp later in game. Though I do agree it is a fair option that will help you meet electrical fire manifest requirements. From a lot of games I find I need to channel electrical fire more often than not because of cover. I am usually only casting it once a turn successfully. Touching on the rules was easy with limited time I will touch on your strategy later, once I have more time. Great right up felt like I could visualize what was happening.
  11. No worries since I answered them I thought that might be the case . Just to add once a model gets activated it must start its companion chain. I can't think of a sitauation as to how it activated that matters. Most common issue is which has to be activated first. Some abilities that activate a model mid activation will control you chain of activations..
  12. Yes but it is not wb option it is required to activate the affected models in range.

  14. Also keep in mind format is cross faction which means lists will be quite different versus fixed faction.

  16. I prefer marshals to but keep in mind mctavish has a beast obey hence spam dogs. Mctavish sniper range and melee prowess to mean seems like he is worth his points. Scout would be huge with marshals. Also if mctavish is as good as I think I might replace Lucius with him consider hoe much scout can speed up a whole crew. Lucius can also stay in cover while moving up without losing ground, making him even harder to kill. Big weakness of crew is wp duels, this would fall to any terror tests.
  17. Lucius, lady j, mctavish, and student of conflict. I love mctavish's model and he provides pulse scout. Combine this with a fast lady j, and reinforcement she can not utilize blindfighter. This also deals with lady j's biggest drawback to be reinforced. She can now be places behind that forest. Out of los and charge in without movement penalties. Also throw some dogs in for further list synergy. This us my anti resser crew (minus kirai). I can put lady j within assassination range, and deny counters. Granted this investment is a lot but both mctavish and student can provide a lot support. This all theory but just wanted to share idea. So 35 list would be: J 8 stones Lucius Student mctavish 4 dogs

  19. This is a faq (without the plural) and they have answered it. Your wrong buck up and move on. Lucidice gave you the rule break down, cover is determined when you draw los. No drawing los, no checking for cover. Only way this will change is with a v2 snow card that states can't be ignored. I don't know if that is their intent.

  21. Also v2 obey states you cannot kill/sacrifice model. So no word play loop holes either.
  22. Santiago is hard to master I will give you guys that. I struggled with him a lot on the beginning, but now be is one of my workhorses. His biggest weakness is against fast melee centered crews. Best way to support him is with a counter charge bodyguard, like the judge in your list. Hard to kill usually keeps him alive for 3-4 hits. Fran is the better counter charge bodyguard because companion means once his line is clear he can blast away without giving your opponent an activation.
