  1. Only one? This is why getting lists off the internets fails. What schemes are you recommending with these awesome lists? P.s. UR just jellis of my Meta!
  2. Technically i used it on Sonnia... It's the easy way to beat aSonnia, kill her before she avatars
  3. ANY MODEL can be "fast" in a Pandora crew. If you take a Doppelganger and a Sorrow. Doppleganger can copy Pandys Unhealthy relationships, and a Sorrows (0) link. Now any models in base to base with Pandy and the Doppleganger can (0) link to Pandy. Cast (1) Dementia on Pandora, and let the movement shenanigans begin!
  4. I like the idea of using Tuco's (1) Taint Loyalty - the only problem is, it won't work to help manifest Lilith. She needs to do damage to enemy models. Taint, just makes them non-friendly (ie.. not ENEMY)
  5. This is the city. Ashburn, Virginia. I game here... I'm a Neverborn player. It was Tuesday, October 18th. It was raining in Ashburn. Our local play group was meeting up for our weekly Malifaux night. Brian was trying to get a better nick-name. Maybe next time "skill-less" Brian, maybe next time... We decided on playing a 35ss game, standard deployment (6" from edge); each of us flipping for individual Strategies. ---------------------------------------------------- I flipped Plant Evidence, and so decided on a grow list... aZoraida's Crew: * Zoraida -- 6 Pool * + Zoraida, Avatar of Fate [2ss] * Desperate Mercenary [2ss] * Desperate Mercenary [2ss] * Nekima [13ss] * Terror Tot [3ss] * Terror Tot [3ss] * Terror Tot [3ss] * Terror Tot [3ss] * Terror Tot [3ss] My Schemes: * Seeds of Betrayal * Kidnap (witchling stalkers) --------------------------------------------------- Brian flipped Line in the Sand for his strategy, and started pulling out his Perdita Family list... Brian's Crew: * Perdita -- 4 Pool * Governor's proxy [2ss] * Francisco [5ss] * Santiago [7ss] * Nino [7ss] * Witchling Stalker [4ss] * Witchling Stalker [4ss] * Witchling Stalker [4ss] Brian's Schemes: * Bodyguard * Kill protege (Nekima) Brian wins the flip for deployment and has me Deploy first. Normally a smart move, allowing him to deploy outta line of sight of big mama Z. However, i just so happened to find a nice cozy spot, up on some height 4 ruins... With the Dynamite markers skewed to his left, Brian deploys somewhat centered, with his Witchlings pushing the sides. Forming a very scary gun-line right in the middle. Turn 1: I start with Nekima Putting up (0) Nephilim Heart - clutch for growing, but also helpful for Sprinting tots . My Merc's wacked each other, to help guarantee the tots killing them with their first Ap; allowing them to grow with their second. With 2 Youngs, and a Mature, i am outta blood tokens; I still have Zoraida and 2 tots to activate. I have 2 (masks) in hand and decide to be a little risky. I (1) Sprint the first Tot 15" and again another 15" into Brian's Deployment zone, and into Melee with his Governor's Proxy and Nino. Nino ends up "wasting" his (0) to walk outta Melee and so can't put up his (0) In my Sights, always a good thing for me . I have the last Tot attempt the same thing on Brian's left, failing his first sprint and only going 10", but getting the second, for another 15" move (hiding him outta line of sight, next to Francisco and a Witchling). Zoraida finally goes, stoning for her (0) Crystal ball, and making a Voodoo doll of Santiago. Her casting expert attempts to (1) Obey Santiago, but his stubborn + Governor's proxy + a high card = failed Obey. Voodoo doll activates and Obeys Nekima to charge forward (a risk i took in hopes of a turn 2 Perdita charge)*Mistake 1* Turn 2: Starts off with Perdita activating and killing Nekima. Ohh boy, i'm already down 0-2. On the plus side though, Perdita was done activating and she had companion Santiago (who now had no targets in range). Time to take advantage - I activate Young1 and Charge Perdita (2 stones left) he actives a dynamite with a Witchling. I activate Young2 and Charge Perdita (1 stone left) he activates another Witchling and another Dynamite. He is on the verge of another 2 points, i need to start killing models. I activated my Mature and charged the Witchling on my right. I trigger Knock Aside, pushing him back and Charging the other Witchling Stalker, weak damage, but enough to allow my melee expert to kill him. Brian activates his Witchling on my far left and moves into position for next turn. I kill his Governors proxy with my Tot, however, lose my Tot to his Wp-Wp duel of death *Mistake 2*. He moves Francisco up and activates the another Dynamite, I go with the Tot next to him and do minimal damage. He activates Santiago and moves up to activate the middle Dynamite. (0-4 overall) I finish my turn with Voodoo doll and Zoraida companion. Voodoo doll Obeys a young to swing at Perdita, but misses. Zoraida (0) Crystal Ball [1 of 2 avatar requirements done] and make another Voodoo doll, this time out of Francisco. I use her last action to Obey a Young to hit Perdita and ohh boy does he ever. She uses a stone (now 1 left) and still ends up with 4 damage. The turn ended well enough, but i am losing the overall badly, time to step it up! Turn 3: Brian wins initiative, Noooooooo! Perdita activates and kills BOTH Youngs. The only Saving grace is she took 2 points of damage for black blood and is out of stones. Time for her to die. I companion Voodoo doll and Zoraida. Voodoo Doll obeys Francisco to attack Perdita, and... Miss... Zoraida activates and Obeys Francisco to attack Perdita, and... Miss... I (0) Crystal Ball and finish my activation by making a Voodoo doll outta Nino. Brian activates Santiago and Charges the Mature, does minimal Damage. I activate the "new" Voodoo Doll, Obey Francisco, and... Kill Perdita!!! I stopped his bodyguard, and now have Seeds of Betrayal (2-4 overall). He activates the Witchling on the far left and the last Dynamite, Noooo!! (2-6 overall). I activate the Mature and Kill the Witchling Stalker with my Melee expert, not expecting anything to happen, i triggered Rip in Half. Brian flips for Santiago's Wp duel, and fate is finally on my side, the BLACK JOKER. Santiago runs, and i now charge Nino. I do minimal damage, but enough to put a hurting on him. Francisco afraid of the Mature running amuck, moves up and fires at him, flipping low and missing. I activate the Tot next to Francisco and in an attempt to be sneaky, move to within 6" of the mature and try to grow... But fail. Nino activates and tries to move away with his (0), fails. Tries to attack the Mature twice and misses both. A very interesting turn, starting off poorly for me, but ending very well... Turn 4: I start with Zoraida, (0) raven, move into middle and second AP to Manifest {losing the Effect of raven} I use her first Casting master to (1) Pins and Needles on Francisco Dealing 5 damage and trigger Consume Fate, to draw 5 cards. At this point i am very happy -Francisco will die when he activates due to poison, Santiago is running, and i'm in Melee with Nino- I use her last cast to Obey my Mature to attack Nino, and miss. Brian activates his Witchling stalker and shoots twice at the Tot, missing both. I activate my Tot, fail first grow, second attempt - grow into a Young. Brian activates Santiago and rallies him, shooting at the mature twice, but missing with both shoots. I activate my Mature and attack Nino with melee expert, trigger Knock Aside - Charge Santiago Kill him. And finish my turn by Charging Nino and killing him. Still 2-6 overall, but Brian only has a Witchling Stalker on the table... Turn 5: With aZoraida now on the table i get a +flip to initiative, and choose the lower card to see what Brian is going to do *Mistake 3*. Brian activates his Witchling Stalker and charges the Young, RED JOKER kills him, d'oh. I activate aZoraida, Voodoo doll the Witchling, Obey move him to objective. Voodoo doll Obeys Witchling, Plants Evidence. Mature moves up into base with 2 more objectives for plant evidence... Turn 6: I win Initiative, I activate Voodoo doll and companion Zoraida. I use the Voodoo doll to Obey the Witchling closer to the Mature. I have Zoraida Obey the Mature and kill the Witchling, oops, Mature dies to the Witchlings Immolating Demise. (Kidnap now brings the overall to 4-6, still losing). I use her last 2 AP to make a wicked doll. Here is where, in all fairness, the game should have ended. Should have, but didn't... I get "one of those feelings", i KNOW the next card on my deck isn't a face card. I stare at it, i remember the last 4 cards flipped, and 2 were 11+. I convince myself i need to get a different card for the -Turn 7 flip- I activate my Wicked doll and attack Zoraida. I flip the top card... a 3, I WAS RIGHT!!! I flip his paired card, a 6, ok cool. I Flip Zoraida's Def a 12, NOOOOO!!!!!.... .. I freak out, i KNOW, just KNOW, the next card wont be a face card, so i cheat Zoraida's Defence down to a total of 7, for a -2 flip for the Wicked Dolls attack. I flip 3 cards -all low cards- take the point of Damage and start praying... I flip the next card - 10 - and the game goes to turn 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turn 7: Wicked doll Activates 2 AP turns off dynamite. (4-4 tie) aZoraida activates, moves to the middle of the board. Obeys Wicked doll -triggers Master of Manipulation-, moves him. Obeys hm again Plants Evidence. Neverborn Win!!!! 6-4 What I learned - Schemes and Strategies win games We say it a lot, but that's because it's true. Stay focused, and have a plan. Top 3 Mistakes: 1. The ledge i had deployed Zoraida on allowed her to see everyone, but when i summoned the Voodoo doll i put it on the side of the wall that could only see the left side of the board aka, none of my own models except Nekima. Had i been able to Obey the Mature instead, i think i could have denied Brian the 2 points from Kill Protege on Nekima, while still threatening him turn 1 with a "melee monster" 2. I had the Voodoo doll on Santiago, using him, or maybe with a new doll on Nino, i needed to kill Brian's Governor's proxy with his own Model. The WP duel can be cheated down, and effectively gets rid of 2 opponents models 3. Biggest Mistake of the game. I could have Charged the Witchling with my Young, and if i didn't kill him, tie him up. Not to mention that killing the Witchling was my Kidnap. Allowing Brian to have the initiative was an EPIC FAIL, and forced me to rely on the Varying Encounter Length to win the game
  6. I couldn't agree more - I am just glad you had a good time. When i think back to the timing of it. The red-joker flipping when it did was a "turning point" in the game. It pretty much sealed the win for me. I would like to remind you though, of a certain game played only days before, where a Witchling Stalker killed my Lelu turn 2 because of the red-joker... On a more serious note: Nix has gotten me to start posting (only took a year) so i'd be more then happy to answer questions and/or help clarify any actions i took during the game - eChris
  7. I just realized you have been on these boards all this time, lol... Err, well i guess not these boards, probably more important ones where all the fun stuff happens :). See ya Tuesday!!! -eChris
