    One aspect of the Large Steampunk Arachnid that I really like is that it's now on a 50mm base, as seen at Gencon. As such, Ramos can discard 2 scrap counters to effectively make 3 that walk around and hit things a bit first. Plus as it's 2 wounds down, it's closer to being usable scrap counters again. Lovely stuff.

    #10256 shipped, huzzah! Avatars Pandora and Kirai on their way. Admittedly after reading what they do I'm not sure when I'd use them in a game, but they'll look good.

    The ice cream analogy is a good one - for some of them, they simply aren't the same anymore, and the Avatar appears to be what they now are, rather than their usual form. Of course this is quite vague, as it was specifically requested that there aren't any spoilers.

    Several fit in as the usual kind of progression, but does leave the existance of their 'normal' forms up in the air, making no sense.

    Though I'm not a henchman, I lend the books out to my 2 gaming groups, which allows them to proxy models they don't have, try new masters and generally get a better feel for the game. This helps me also as I get more varied games, and I certainly don't mind facing proxies if it gets another friend playing.

    Fair point, I probably would too, but in the long run I'd still end up carrying around each faction book, so not that great an improvement.

    If Wyrd were to make a Rules Manual 2 with all the faction stats in, Avatar etc - basically everything as updated as possible with no fluff, I'd certainly buy it. Much easier and smaller to carry around for a start, compared to 4 books.

    No it's not, they just have rather good synergy with it/are being played by more experienced players/are merely a force your network streaming hasn't figured out how to properly counter yet/are supposed to be better as faction imbalance is a good thing/are simply costed effectively.

    Special forces probably does only apply to hiring, since though it states 'A crew may only contain special forces models from one [group name].' There is also, under Henchmen, 'A crew led by a henchman has specific hiring restrictions as indicated under the Henchman's special forces leader ability.' However, it states at the beginning of the section that 'The following restrictions apply when hiring crews:' and doesn't mention anything about summoning at all. So, probably alright.

    If you're in the UK you can go to the Parcel Force tracking site, put in the US tracking number on the wyrd confirmation email, and check the 'incoming' box - it provides a much better breakdown of where the package is, dates and times across the whole journey. You'll just need to click the Tracking info button underneath the first result, which merely shows the most recent state change.

    Yep, no custom charges at all. May have something to do with the declared value, but of course my maths may simply be utterly wrong.

    Order arrived in the UK today! Got the confirmation email on the 17th, so day 8. Bit of an anxious morning, as I went out of the flat at 10.20, to find a failed delivery card timed 10.15.. Raced to the Post Office but the delivery bloke hadn't got there yet. Had to wait till 11.45, but managed to intercept him before he got to the Post Office, and I got my parcel! Book 3, both Nightmare Editions and 94 stat cards all accounted for, cheers Wyrd!

    Very nice! Tomorrow is day 7 for me, so here's hoping, seriously want to get my hands on book 3....
